What is the Chapmans coach looking for? Let's find out so you can get recruited to Chapman. Chapman is a high academic Division III school in California and very competitive and very good soccer, and the coaching staff is amazing. This is the Chapman women's coach. She's currently at the Elite Soccer Camp, so if you don't already come to this camp, you should. Just from a recruiting perspective, when would you like the girls to reach out to you? What time of their year? In 7th grade, 8th grade, when would you like to hear from them?
Definitely, I would say probably that sophomore going in— I'm sorry, that freshman going into sophomore year, that summer, just so we get an idea, like, are you interested? Are you had a showcase in that summer, that summer's vital. Let us know and we'll start taking a peek over there.
So just to clarify, that's freshman going into sophomore year?
Yes. Yep.
Excellent. And then in an ideal world, how many videos would you say you would need to see of a girl before you would get on a call with them or look at their transcripts?
Yeah, definitely. I would say probably at least 2 to 3 different types of videos, and that's different, different types of touches, definitely different types of positioning as well. Utility players, great. We want to encourage that. But letting us know when we can actually see you in person is another big piece to that.
And how often would you say you recruit a girl from your camp? What percentage, if you had to guesstimate?
Oof, you know what, we just— I would say probably a good amount of percentage. I want to say maybe about like 60%-ish on that. Camp at Chapman University, uh, the link, go ahead, you can email me. My email is on the athletics website for Chapman, and I can send you that link.
