Overcome Your FEAR of Public Speaking for CONFIDENCE, SUCCESS, WEALTH & RELATIONSHIPS | Glossophobia

This is a first-person YouTube presentation by Robert Summa about his 20-year struggle with glossophobia (fear of public speaking), triggered by a panic attack during a presentation at age 27, and his subsequent recovery: he reports being cured for seven years. He contrasts the long-term negatives of unresolved public-speaking fear (career stagnation, lower salary, avoidance, depression, relationship impacts, isolation, risk of layoff) with the benefits after recovery (greater visibility, promotions, higher income, improved relationships, confidence). He advertises a self-assessment PDF (with a 20% coupon) and an online non-exposure course due for release on Labor Day that claims to help conquer public-speaking fears from home in about four weeks.

Hey, guys, Bob here. So today we're going to go over the importance of getting over your fears and phobia public speaking and what actually happens if you don't. And I can tell you from my own story of 20 years what happens if you don't. And then I'm going to take you to my story now where I have been cured for seven years and love to present and how it has actually changed my life. Foreign.
Welcome to Public Speaking Cure, the only channel on YouTube that is dedicated to helping you get over your fears and phobias of public speaking forever. So today we're going to go over what happens if you don't get over your fears of phobia public speaking and of course, what happens if you do the great things that happen, the benefits that change your life if you do get over it. And I'm going to use my own story. So if you haven't seen this video, I will watch this first and then come back. It is a story about my transformation and how I found my Mr. Miyagi. I I used a Karate Kid theme which made it a little bit of fun, and you'll see how it all comes together in the end. So when you watch that story about me, you're going to go over the 20 years of my life in which I had the fear of public speaking. And it was on set by a presentation I was doing for customers, and it put me to a tailspin. I was riding the corporate ladder. I was heading upwards. I was 27, young, I was literally the youngest manager in history at Westinghouse Corporation. And then I had my panic attack when I was doing a presentation and it changed my life for 20 years. Now there's a good ending to the story because I was cured. Now I see the benefits of being able to speak in public, and I'm going to share those with you, too. So I'm going to cut over to my screen and we're going to go over what happens. And everything I show you is coming from my own experience. So as you can see here, this is what happens if you're not able to conquer your fear of public speaking. These are the negatives, these are the downsides, and we're going to get to the benefits when you do. But I really want to show you what is the downside of not being able to speak in public, how it impacts your life. It doesn't impact your life and career. It impacts in all different kinds of way because you live in a life of fear and avoidance. Would you afraid I Mean just, it's not even just about public speaking at work. You're talking about like giving toast at weddings, interviews, if you want to do a eulogy at a church for a past loved one. Literally happened to me. These are the kinds of things that not being able to speak in public or having a phobia can really impact your life. So it's a low value of yourself, right? You live with anxiety, you live in an avoidance of doing these things, right? And you're insecure. These negative side impacts can really wreak a havoc on your life. So just going down the list really quickly again, insecure. You're insecure with yourself. You have a lot of self doubt in yourself because you're afraid to do things. You avoid things, right? You live in fear, living anxiety, avoidance. You have a low value to your employer. If, if your employer knows that you can't speak publicly or you turn down those presentations, you sink in your ability. Avoidance. You avoid so many things in life. I mean, I think I told the story before one of my other videos, how my best friend, one of my best friends asked me to be the best man of his wedding. And I knew the wedding was going to be like 300 people and I said no. I declined it. I actually declined being the best man because I knew that best man's speech would happen in front of a room of 300 people with that microphone in my hand. That's how terrified I was. I actually would suffer panic attack and panic disorder from fears and phobia. And that can actually happen if you start off with a moderate fear and it starts building up as you avoid, you start building up that fear and the fear become, goes on a pedestal, right? And next thing you know, you're avoiding all situations. You get a lower pay for the same job. You're frustrated, you're frustrated with yourself, you're frustrated in your position, you're frustrated at work, you're frustrated in your relationships. You're frustrated that you're not doing things that you know you can do it if you can just get over this fear. You get depressed from that. Right now you're going through a life of depression. And trust me, I know all these things because I had it for 20 years. And I think the most upbeat guy you're ever going to meet, everybody who knows Bob Suma, the real me, thinks I'm the most happy guy. They always say I'm the smiling happy guy. But deep inside I wasn't. Deep inside I was depressed, I was frustrated. I did have insecurities. Self doubt, lack of confidence. I wasn't going for the positions I knew I can do because I knew that those positions require public speaking like directors and VP levels. I didn't even apply for those things. Over the years, I watched all my colleagues go up the ladder and pass me and take these great positions that I knew I was qualified for. But there was one thing holding me back, and that was my fear. So that goes into relationships issues, right? Because now, you know you're not making as much money because you're stuck in a route job and you're depressed with yourself. If you're not happy with yourself, how can you be happy in a relationship? So it does impact relationships. It does impact, you know, hey, you're 30, you're getting married. You're 35, you're 40, you're 45, and you're still in the same job because you don't want to go up the ladder and take a bigger job because of public speaking. And that can have financial issues in your marriage, boredom in your position, right? You're stuck in the same position. You're gonna be bored. You're gonna live with panic. You're gonna be hiding. You're not gonna want to go to social events you don't want. It's. It's a. Hiding is like. It's like avoidance, right? Isolation, shyness. You become shy, you know, when it comes to networking events, you are shy to talk to anybody. You become a layoff victim. And this is true if you have less value than the guy next to you, because the guy next to you can do the same job, but he can speak publicly and communicate better than you. Good chance you're going to make that layoff list. You cap your salary ceiling. This is one of the biggest ones in your career. When I say your career, you are really capping not only the upward trajectory as far as the title, but your salary stays low. You're not going to move anywhere. If you can't get on the stage, if you can't get in front of a boardroom, if you can't impress your bosses and their bosses and their bosses, there's no way that those people are going to say, hey, what about Bob? I think he'd be great for that VP position. They never even seen you speak. They never even seen you communicate. They don't even know anything about you, so that won't happen, which leads to unhappiness. So these are all the negative things that impact your life, and these are the things that impacted me for 20 years. So now let's go over to the benefits because this is where I live now and I have been living for seven years. Okay? Now let's get to the great things. If you get over your fears and phobias of public speaking, conquering your fears of public speaking, the benefits, no more fear. You're fearless. Literally, you're fearless. You're cured. And I know this because I've been this way for seven years. I'm literally now the speaker of my department. I put together presentations. I'm in charge of the presentations. I am the lead speaker. I give the big overviews. I am seen by my peers, their bosses and their bosses and their bosses. And, and guess what? Up that ladder I go again. The money is huge. The money has literally doubled in that seven years. And I can just tell you, it's all because of this. This is literally the one thing that changed in my life. Being able to communicate better, present better, lead boardrooms. It gives you more visibility and that makes me a happy person. And that changes your entire life, your relationships, your weddings. Guess what? Good friend of mine asked me to be the best man. I'm like, when's the date? No problem. Even more so, the MC of the wedding literally called in day of, called in day of sick. So my best man turned to me, says, what am I going to do? And I said, I'll do it. I became the MC of the wedding. I actually took the microphone so now I was already the best man and, and giving the best man speech, which normally people would be nervous about, but I wasn't anymore because I got over my fears. But I actually emceed an entire wedding, introing them. First dance, cutting the cake, first song, dance with the father, dancing the mother, all those things that go into a wedding from beginning to end. That whole entire four hour experience, I literally had to mic my hand the entire time. It was having so much fun doing it and with so much confidence at this wedding. So these are things that change for you in your life. So it's not just your career, it also really impacts your social and your relationships, your social life and your relationships. So let's go down. No. Fear plus confidence equals wealth. Okay? Success, self worth. Your relationships are improved. So go to the right again. Confidence. It's all confidence. You are a confident person, right? When you know you can get up and speak, you just become a more confident person in your career, in your life, in all aspects. Wealth and success. Follow that. So here, making 100 to 1,500% more salary in a job that you love through promotions and getting paid what you're worth. I mean, imagine if I didn't have that panic attack at 27 or imagine if I did, but I had a course like the one I'm providing that can actually get over your fears and phobia didn't exist until I actually created this. I actually created a course. Trust me, you can google forever, you will not find a course that I have and especially a non exposure therapy course where basically you're doing everything out of the comfort of your home. All the exercises, all the cures are done from your home. You're not practicing in front of people. That is where 99% of people get it wrong. But let's not go there, let's just keep going with this list. If I was young and I was able to get in my fear of phobias, public speaking at 27 and I was able to continue my growth upwards, my salary would easily be in that 1500% mark. Right now I'm in a really good position, I'm not going to lie, I make double six digits with bonuses and stuff like that. But if you just go back seven years ago, I wasn't even close to that. But now with my public speaking, I have a really nice life, vacations, nice home, you know, I'm not going to sit here and say I'm driving, you know, Ferraris and stuff like that. I'm not. But I have a nice home, nice yard, nice family, decent cars and I like my life. We take nice vacations, we can afford things. Now your self worth, this is worth all the money in the world. You love yourself because you're proud of yourself. You're confident, it's not cocky you, it's confidence and it is just being happy with yourself, interviewing and job opportunities. I mean you interview better because now you're not afraid to talk in front of people. There's no nerves, Those nerves kind of go away. You have excitement nerves, but you don't have panic nerves. So again, career advancements, you're happy, become more popular, right? You're meeting more friends, you're becoming popular at work, everybody listens to you, they come to you, oh my God, what a great presentation you gave. Or hey, I really loved what you said today. People want to make meetings with you, they want to have lunch with you, they want to get into your head, right? So you're making more friends, popularity, more visibility. Like I said, when you give great presentations, there's a lot of times not just your boss on that it's Your boss's boss. And now you impress them. And sometimes their boss is on there, sometimes you're giving company presentations all the way up to the C levels. These guys are like, who's this guy? He's great. He's the next guy, he's the next VP Leadership, right? You become a leader, your speaking abilities become improved again. I get you to the mic. My whole channel is dedicated to getting you to the mic, right? It's not about the content, it's not about the body language, it's not about nailing the first 30. It's not about the content and keeping people engaged. Those are all great tips. That's what everybody out there teaches. But nobody actually teaches you how to get over your fears and phobia or pan attacks associated. So you can even get to the mic and talk. And that is the biggest gap out there. Every coach, every corporate seminar, I don't care where you go, they only teach you how to present better, how to master your craft of presenting, how to master your craft of public speaking. But nobody actually teaches you how to get over your fears and phobias. And that is what my channel is all about doing. You get the trust of the people, right? Like I said, engagement. People are engaged with you. Social networking was great. No salary ceiling. Look at these benefits that come and then.
Look at the negatives that come if you don't conquer your fear. I mean, I live these two lives and I'll tell you what, I love this life a hell of a lot more than I love this life.
