Dallas Bragg describes watching a close friend descend into crystal meth psychosis after meeting on Grindr, losing his identity to paranoia and delusion. Meth hits gay men harder by amplifying shame and internalized homophobia. The drug spreads through hookup apps as a hidden epidemic that erodes reality rather than causing overdose.

Let me tell you why crystal is different than other drugs, especially when it's used by gay men. I had a best friend who was using at the same time I was, and we discovered it through Grindr. We didn't know each other was using, so we started hanging out, and actually we became very close, and it wasn't even a— it was very platonic. We had a lot of fun, and then after, I guess, about a year of I think I saw changes happening in his brain. Fast forward, one day I got home from my job and he was waiting for me on my back porch. And when I found him there, he's looking at me and all of the light had gone out from his eyes. I was looking into someone who was not there anymore. His His essence had left his body and meth had taken over. He began to accuse me of jailbreaking his phone, which I didn't even know what it was at the time, watching him through his laptop, stealing his identity, and using it on the internet. All of this he believed so adamantly to be true that he had a phone in his hand and he was ready to call the police. I lost my best friend. And he died. Not physically. Who he was died. And that's what crystal does. There are some drugs that will kill you easily. You can overdose through fentanyl or heroin, pills, whatever. But meth wants you to wish you were dead. Meth takes your identity away and your reality away and brings in this psychotic state where you don't know what's fantasy, what's real. You think that everything and everyone is out to get you, that the shadow people are really there. You feel like there's a conspiracy going on all around you. Your essence leaves your body. Not to mention, crystal is the only drug that has its own Zoom channel you can go and use with other gay men all around the world 24/7. It has its own app, it's called Grindr, or sniffies as well, where you can access this drug anywhere you are almost all around the world within an hour. It's an intelligent substance that knows how to dial into a gay man's Take the insecurities, the shame, the internalized homophobia, and blow it up. Take it, target it, and for once give them a relief from the pain that they've been living under. It's an intelligent drug that targets gay men. If you or someone you know is struggling with this drug, I want you to reach out to someone. Doesn't have to be me, although I can help as a sober coach. Reach out to someone and get some help. This is an epidemic and it's hidden in plain sight. This is a drug that's not getting that much attention, especially what it's doing ravaging its way through the gay community. It's not getting the attention it needs, and that's why I'm doing these videos. To help me out, share this, repost it, favorite it, comment, like, whatever it is that happens on the algorithm to get people to look at it. Help me get the word out.
