A speaker organized a masterclass on Chemsex for over 250 UK health commissioners who control local funding. More than half had never heard the term before, a gap that could block money for support services. The speaker brought together leading professionals to teach them.
I actually did a— held a Chemsex masterclass for all of the drug and alcohol commissioners and sexual health and HIV commissioners in the UK. And it was over 250 commissioners. And the commissioners, they hold the funding pots for each of the councils in London. Okay. And over 50% of those didn't know what Chemsex was. Shocking. So without them knowing what that is, how are they going to offer money to the councils to offer support? So that blew my mind. I was like, what? But they did after the masterclass. It wasn't just me. I brought together some amazing professionals from up and down the country to deliver this to the commissioners.
