Dallas Bragg recalls warnings from drug users and dealers who told him not to end up like them. He argues these aren't empty words but desperate pleas from people trapped in addiction who genuinely want him to escape the same fate.
How many times while you're using did another user or a dealer say, don't end up like me, or right before they inject, don't ever do this? They're trying to tell you something. They're trying to help you. And whether it seems like it or not, they don't want to be where they are. They don't like using. They're going through the motions. They're stuck. So take their advice and don't be like them.
