Listen, in early sobriety to crystal meth, the most impactful work is done right here in your imagination. You have to retrain and reprogram the subconscious to know that we are acting on a different way. We are a different person. Our identity is now someone who does not use crystal meth. Here's an example. Think of your biggest trigger. Maybe it's driving by a certain area of town where you used to use a lot, and you have a lot of fond memories, and you— it makes you want to go use. There's a lot of techniques that you can use, but the most impactful is in here, in your imagination. Lie down and imagine yourself driving by that neighborhood not being triggered. Imagine yourself driving by that neighborhood imagining the consequences instead of the benefits. Feel the emotion of making a choice to be sober. Feel the emotion of accomplishment and win that you made the right choice. Do this repeatedly to program your subconscious so that it becomes your default response when you drive by that neighborhood.
