It's the same reason why people go back to meth. It's the same reason why people go back to their abusive husband. It's like, imagine like on a very, very comical micro level, it's why I don't stop eating Hot Cheetos when I'm eating them, you know, like because I get a temporary relief when I have another one, but like it just makes it worse and worse and worse, right? Like— Yeah. And stopping that would be really painful in the moment. And it's because once again, your ego does not want future pleasure. It wants present pleasure. And listener, I want you to know when I say ego, that's not a slam. We all have it. We all have that voice inside us and it's there for a reason. And that voice has kept us from burning our hand on the stove more than once. The problem is right now it's preventing us from cooking, right? So we logically know that there's freedom on the other end of it, on the other end of getting rid of potential religion or whatever the addiction might be, but it's too scary.
