A firsthand account of methamphetamine's effects: it shuts down your brain's safety switches, making you feel invincible and sexually uninhibited. The Nazi military used it to turn soldiers into what felt like superheroes. The catch: it's fun until addiction hits, and almost nobody can use it moderately and walk away.
You know, there's the good stuff about methamphetamine. You get rid of your, you know, those protective mechanisms so you can have freer sex, whatever the reason. But it is a freeing, great drug. There's a reason why the— during World War II, the Third Reich used it so freely with soldiers because it made you— makes you feel that you're a superhero, impenetrable. Yeah. I can get through this no matter what. And so it's a fun drug. And then it's not sustainable over time because once addicted, it's really, it's really hard to manage and moderate control unless you, unless you're— some people are able to do that. I found it really tough to moderate.
