Are you an over-explainer? I know I used to be. I'm not only in recovery from crystal meth, but I'm in recovery from trying to over-explain myself, which comes from trauma wounds. It's people pleasing. It's when you're faced with a— what you think is danger or stressful situation, you don't fight, you don't flight, you fawn. And that's just a means to make yourself feel like you're still liked And you're still connected and you're still accepted. So if you don't want to go to the party or the event or the get-together, a no thank you suffices. You don't have to list five bullet points as to why you can't go, and you don't have to go out of your way to make sure that they're not mad at you and that they're going to invite you next time. If this resonates with you, please like, comment, or share. I would like to talk more about it.
