In this solo monologue, Dallas Bragg, a chemsex recovery coach, explains how the shift to remote work during COVID has intensified chemsex use for many men, especially those in unsupervised or supervisory roles. He identifies common rationalizations (e.g., using before a partner returns, using on Fridays) and outlines practical, context‑dependent solutions: using a physical phone lockbox to restrict phone access during work hours; establishing a recovery buddy, partner, or sponsor for daily scheduled check‑ins via call or video; sharing real‑time location with an accountable person; installing app blockers to prevent access to Grindr, Sniffies, and similar platforms; and strategically scheduling important meetings or office days on high‑risk days like Fridays to reduce opportunity. He concludes by inviting viewers to share additional successful tactics in the comments.

There's a ton of guys out there who started working from home during COVID and it has been the demise of them and their chemsex use. Hi, my name is Dallas. I'm a chemsex recovery coach. Working from home, especially if you're in a supervisory role or a role where you're not really monitored per hour, sets you up for a lot of disaster when it comes to trying to stop using because You know, you lie to yourself and say, I can just use during the day before my partner gets home, or I can just use today before tomorrow's going to be a light day. Or, you know, Fridays are usually a really big trigger as well. There's a couple of solutions for that. Of course, it depends on you and your context. But one way, one, some guys lock their phone up. They have a phone, there's a phone lock, a lockbox that you can buy. That will only let you call out for emergencies. And during certain hours, you can lock your phone away during the day. Of course, that doesn't work if you have a work phone. A lot of you have boundaries and won't use a work phone for things like Chemsex and Grindr, but some of you do. One thing you're going to want to do is tell somebody, you know, have a recovery buddy or your partner or whoever, a sponsor, somebody Tell them that this is a danger point for you and have scheduled check-ins, especially during the afternoon. Well, whenever your hotspot is. It could be morning, could be afternoon, but actually make a phone call and actually, or a video call, and actually check in with somebody every single day, no questions asked. There's always the possibility of sharing your location as well. You have to share your location though with somebody who's going to check it. Who has a reminder on their phone? Who's going to check it? Um, sharing your location for some people just feels good, but it doesn't do any good because the— if the person's not looking at it, what does it matter? And of course, having blocks on your phone so that you can't access Grindr and Sniffies and any other outlet to, uh, chemsex relapse. You want to have your phone locked down so that you can focus on work. One thing you can do is if Friday is your dangerous of danger zones, Make sure you schedule very important meetings on that day the best that you can, or schedule something in the office just so you can deter the opportunity. Okay, for those of you who have had success, what did I miss? Tell me in the comments.
