What's up, everybody? Got Chris here. So Chris is in our AI Assisted Agency program, and it's been six weeks that you've been inside and you're at already like around 10k a month right now, so.
Right, yeah, just a little below.
All right, sweet. So what we're going to do in this video is we're going to get Chris's background. He's going to talk about what he does, what he's selling to clients, probably, like how he signs clients and everything in regards to that. But first, before we get into it, quick disclaimer. This is not the kind of result that every single person who joins is going to get. In fact, most people who start a business fail in their business. U.S. bureau of Labor Statistics says that 65% of businesses are going to fail within the first 10 years. So you have a higher probability of not succeeding than you do of actually succeeding. However, interviews like this and all the stuff I post is to try to arm you with the information that increases the probability you are successful as high as possible. But again, not guaranteeing you are. So, Chris, with that said, could you give us your backstory, like, what you were doing before you joined my thing, leading up to the point of, like, why you joined it?
Yeah, sure. Okay. So I live in Indonesia. I've been here 24 years. My first business here was a surf resort. That was kind of my dream. I'm going to go live on a remote island. I'm never going to work again. I'm just going to surf. And I did that for a few years, had a super successful business. And then I got bored out of my fucking mind. Because when you're an entrepreneur person, you're just like, I need a reason to get out of bed rather than just surf. So then I just did a bunch of different projects that led me to doing getting a huge contract with the government here. That took us 18 months of work. It was like insane, like, what we're doing here. It was like a WI fi advertising system. The revenue projections were in the, what, tens of millions? And where we install the devices, we're all ready to just rock and roll and cash in. And then Covid just shut the whole thing down and it was just evaporated. I went to zero. I lost my who. I got divorced. I lost that project and another project, and I ended up moving into a place that was costing me 200 US a month and I couldn't even afford it. I was late on my rent every month. I had to take my daughter out of The International school, and I was borrowing money for food. It just literally got that bad? It's just dire. Struggled for a couple of years. Started a company, food safety labeling company that it's like a digital way of chefs doing the labeling on their containers and stuff. That went really well. That's like killing it a few months ago. And I was like, what am I going to do next? I need to get back into marketing. I need to find something that I'm passionate about. So I started watching all the things that I'm sure everyone who's watching this video has watched all the same stuff. And then, yeah, I just connected with your videos. And then jumped on a call with Logan. Shout out to Logan. And then it was just. Yeah, I mean, that was it.
Nice. So you came in from YouTube. You're watching my YouTube videos?
Watching your YouTube videos? Yeah. From probably, like, I guess a year back. I guess it was the end of, like last year when I first saw your videos and I connected with your videos. I guess for the same reason a lot of people do like the way you just very authentic. And I owe you a personal thank you, by the way. Let me just say this publicly. I'm normally very Zen, the way I speak. Like, I'm normally really calm. But if I get passionate about something, I start, like, ranting. And it's very much like the way you speak. I always felt shitty about it after I kind of overthink it and be like, did I sound like an idiot? Like, do those people, like, what do they think? So I always try to moderate it. And then after I saw your videos, I'm like, fuck that, dude. I'm just leaning straight into it and I feel so much better about it, man. It's like my inner fazios come out.
Sometimes I'll say something in a video and I'm like, thinking, should I have said that in a video? But it's like, no, I'll just leave it.
Let me ask you. Normally quite calm, just day to day?
No, I'm exactly like I am all the time. Yeah.
Like, pretty calm most of the time. But if I get passionate, I get worked up. I used to overthink why am I doing.
It's legitimately, like, so this is like glycine. I have to take glycine because I'll get, like, super worked up. And it calms me down.
I take the L theanine that keeps my brain.
I take that too. I'll get, like, way too worked up if I don't lose my mind. You've done all sorts of kind of stuff. So you've been like physical type locations. Pretty much a lifelong entrepreneur. Why this kind of like digital marketing world? What kind of appealed about this to you?
I like marketing, and I guess being an entrepreneur, I like the novelty of like, something new. And so doing digital marketing, it's great because you've got all these new projects coming all the time. The client I just got, it's like a big coffee brand. They're doing like a lot of B2B. They want to build an E commerce store and stuff. And it's just like, oh, this is exciting. You know, so you can work on that and build that and then you've got something. You know, I've got this guy with a SaaS project. Yeah, it's just exciting. You can do all these different things. Yeah, I like that.
Nice. So in terms of, like, investing into my stuff, like, it obviously isn't cheap. At some point I was some, like, random Internet stranger to you. How did you go through the justification of thinking, like, all right, I'm gonna give this random guy on the Internet thousands of dollars and I'm gonna be okay with it? Because a lot of people have, like, a tough time computing the possibility of doing that. And they think like, everything is like outright a scam.
It's like this. You gotta, like, double down onto something, right? So there's a bunch of, you know, you want to go and do find someone who's got something that's working, and then if that's your thing, like, go and do it. I was already doing a course, like, about, you know, building funnels. My background is marketing, so I already knew. But I wanted to kind of upskill. And it was really good. It was Alicia Conlon hurt. If you know her, she's great. But yeah, I just needed. And then I saw your stuff, and then it just seemed super appealing. I jumped on the call with Logan. He took me through all the stuff and I went, yeah, dude, that's it. That's for me, the financial commitment. For me, like, even with my business and stuff, just because it was other stuff going on, it was like a bit tricky, but I was just like, fuck it, I'm in. And I think a lot of people are probably like that. I actually just caught up. I don't know if you know Tian Marcel, who's in the ca. So I just caught up with him yesterday at my sister's cafe here. He's such a champion. And he was telling me when he joined, he was like, when I did the math. I only had, like, $200 a month live off, like, if I did this thing, my only choice was to make this work. And he did. He just dove in and made it work. I was speaking with Logan a little while ago and he said. He just mentioned. He goes, oh, there's a guy I just spoke to. He's in Bali at the moment. Do you mind if I give him your contact? Because he wants to ask questions. I said, dude, I'll go and meet him right now. If you want, like, tell him to come and meet me. I took my laptop down. I just opened my laptop and just showed him everything. I was like, dude, here's the course. Look how comprehensive it is. Here's like, look at the Gamma docs. Like. And then the community is just insane. So you've just got all these people who are just, you know, you get that. You hear that thing. Like, I heard Gary Vee say it the other day. Like, anytime you want to do a YouTube video or whatever you want to do, you're worried about looking cringy and people are going to think this. All those people, you're worried about the ones below you, Everyone in fucking CA is like, super fucking stoked. You know, you get these guys, they just make a new YouTube channel and they go, oh, guys, can you follow it? Everyone's like, just going, oh, go. So there's all the community. And then the other thing is the Trello board, which literally just says, day one, do this, Day two, do this. Day three, do this. You just do it. There's dudes in here. A lot of the guys have got no marketing background, experience. There's other guys, like, I'm 53 other guys around my age in here who are doing it. A lot of guys have never done this kind of stuff before. And they're doing it. They're just learning it. The financial commitment. Yeah, sure, it's a significant. You know, you got to make sure you're up for it. But 100%, it's worth it.
And a lot of people, I feel like you could have a good perspective on this because you've been an entrepreneur for a while. But a lot of people say they're, like, stuck in some kind of, like, they got some job or they're like, freelancing or whatever. It's nothing really stable. Feel like they're kind of, like, in control. And they'll still come back and say, like, I don't have time. I don't have time to do this. What did you say to that kind of person.
Dude, you can come up with so many fucking excuses like, whatever excuse you, you've got, I'm too young, I'm too old, I don't have time. Join ca and someone else has got less time than you. They're older than you, they're younger than you. The less you, like, whatever, they got one leg, like, just fucking do it. Because there's no excuse. There's literally no excuse whatsoever. If you've got like one hour a day, you can do this. Start with an hour a day, then build to two hours. And then, you know, once you've got a client, then, you know, you get the momentum.
Did you ever have a feeling that, like, everything is like, the shit I was shown on YouTube and obviously the presentation. Did you ever feel like, what if this doesn't work for me? Because that's like a fear a lot of people have where it's like, well, what if I invest in this and it just doesn't work?
Yeah, every single person on planet Earth, you definitely haven't that thought, right? And the good thing about coming into CA is you realize everyone else is like you. It's like you see everyone's highlight reel on Instagram, you think they're fucking absolutely killing it. But then when you talk to them, they tell you about their struggles. And this is hard. I have doubts and all that kind of thing, you know, I remember doing a meditation retreat once and it was like 10 days, and you're meditating 12 hours a day. And you're sitting there, it's so hard. You open your eyes and you look around. Everyone else looks like a statue of Buddha. Like, just need to, dude, it's only me. But then you talk to them after and they're like, oh, my God, that was so hard. Anyone who's saying they got doubts, struggles, whatever, get in, into the group. And then you're with all the other people who are thinking the same thing, and they're all building you up and like cheering you on. You get your success cost with Team Jimmy, who's absolute legend, dude. He's on my ass all the time. I have to report to him. I sit there, oh, shit, man. I can't let Jimmy down. I gotta, like, make sure I do my shit. This is not like a passive course where it's like, here's a bunch of shit that you can do. This will work. If you go and do it. It's like, you're in. Here's the instructions. Day one, do this, and then you success because you're going to did you fucking do that? And then you've got all the other guys asking questions. You can ask any. You ask the dumbest shit. Everyone asks shit all the time and as soon as someone asks on, everyone's there answering their questions like helping them out as much as they can. Dude, it's amazing. I've never seen anything like this. And anyone who's like around my age, just put your ego aside and just realize you're going to be getting taught by these guys who are way younger than you and you're going to be like oh fuck, that's kind of hard to swallow. It's amazing.
I've done three interviews over the past like 24 hours and what I was telling a lot of guys is because just recently this week I've only ever really sold beer products. This whole concept of like selling like a business opportunity to newer people and we let people come in and we help them start from zero is a very new concept to us. It's a way different kind of like audience I've discovered when you're talking to people who are at zero and like one of the things I've discovered recently is that there's a category of people out there, they legitimately actually believe that any kind of like program or course like this or coaching information product of any kind, they legitimately believe it is all 100% an outright scam. It's as if like you get someone's money and it's like haha, gotcha. And they're like you never hear from them again. They like actually think that's what every single one is. They think like you don't get deliverables and shit like that. So if you were like a successful entrepreneur, someone's like been doing this for a while. I'm sure you've seen like all different kinds of iterations of like maybe people sell like business opportunities over here. What kind of advice do you give to this person? To one like be able to spot actual scams versus not scams and to like when that you know it isn't a scam, how to stop being like a pussy and actually like go into it.
There are legitimate scams out there, you know, people are just fucking ripping you off, right? Second, there's some shit where people say oh that's a scam, doesn't work, but they just made a half assed effort at it. It's like someone who goes into drop shipping for example, right? You can make money on drop shipping but most people just fucking, it's way harder than it used to be when people first started it. But if you worked hard enough, you could make it work. But most people are not going to do the work. So the good thing about this is you come in and then you've got this whole support system around you with a system that absolutely works. The other thing is, like, when you're in the slack channel, you've got the WINS channel. Like if you open the winds channel, you only have to sit there for a little while and someone else pops up with like, oh, you know, I just closed another client client for 5K 3K5. Like it's insane. There was one in our team just a minute ago and he just closed his first client for like a thousand bucks. He was like stoked. Everyone was just like, like, you know, doing all the emojis and I don't know what to say to me but like at some stage, like, do your research, look into it. What do you got now? 30, 000 followers on YouTube or some. Yeah, if there was some kind of scam, I think you would have been outed by now. Like over 400 people in CA now or some like that. Let's do. Come on.
Kyle's talking more about like the business you're running now. What are you selling?
Ads and funnels.
When you first got in here, what were the first one to two steps you took? And like how did you end up signing this client? Or like multiple. I don't know how many you've got right now.
Okay, so what I started with. This probably works especially well for people who are a bit older. The absolute best place you can start is in your phone. Literally. Sit on your sofa and go to your contacts and start at a. And just scroll through and you go, oh yeah, I remember that dude I knew five years ago. He was starting some software company and that's how I. All the clients I've got so far were from like network. I know this guy and he knows that guy and he's not. And I just started like reaching out to those people first. So I did that before I started doing the Dream 100. I only just started like doing Dream 100. Like everything I did so far was like my own network. You know, I'm 53, so I've had like a lot of history with. And I've done so many different businesses in different industries and stuff. So I'm reaching out to people like from like 10 years back and they're like, oh yeah, remember you. That works.
What is the product you're selling? Is Like VSL funnel build outs or helping people run ads for them.
Yeah, VSL funnel. So in Indonesia like people are not really aware of the way a funnel should be built. If you're on Instagram here and you go through and you see ads for like a beauty clinic, for example, it's always like a really shitty ad. They put everything they offer, every fucking treatment is on like one fucking picture and you can't read it. And then it's like at the bottom it's clicked to WhatsApp. I know they're getting like 500 messages a day and they got staff, they're like trying to deal with it. Obviously staff costs are lower here so they can't afford to pay people to like answer. But like what a fucking nightmare. Like they don't train the staff on sales correctly. It's just an absolute disaster. So I'm screenshotting like everything and just putting together a whole dream 100 thing to send out to these people and say try and fix their funnels.
What have you thought so far about like for instance, especially in ads and funnels using AI, all the copywriting and whatnot you've been playing around with doing a lot of that.
Yeah. So I'm a writer, I'm a good writer. Like when it comes to creative writing at school I was shit at everything and creative writing, I was like top in the class since I like started school until I left. So I know how good writing is done. The AI does it so well. Like I knew it would be good, but I kind of thought, okay, it'll give a good, you know, structure and I can go through and edit and yeah, of course I edit, but like.
It'S very even me talking to people sometimes it's like we'll launch some funnel for instance. The launch when we first did AI assisted agency was like I had the whole sales page, that VSL page. It was like another like 40 something ads. It was like 60 something emails. It was three YouTube video launch. And I wrote all of that with AI that probably would have taken me like 200 or 300 hours of manual work. Maybe a total of like 10 writing it like 10 or 12 and then like the actual setting up of it maybe a couple other hours and like making all the automations and whatnot so much more useful. I think what people don't understand is that if you say like AI does the work, they think that like you just resell an AI tool which like literally is never. That's not gonna work. It does the fulfillment work. Like you still have to like set up systems and whatnot. But it's like it, for instance, ads and funnels, like where's all the work and the fulfillment of that? It's copywriting, it's writing this up. That's like what 90% of the work is. And now that's like 1/10 of the work now, which is just because it's so much more efficient.
It's crazy. And like you say, like you don't tell clients you're doing it that way because they're going to get the wrong impression. They're going to think you're typing something to chat GPT and just going, here you go, I did it. The quality is just crazy. It's so good. That's a massive plus. The course I was doing before, the one I mentioned earlier, so she does an AI thing, but it's very manual. It's like, you know it copy paste from Google. She, you put it in, you get the answer, you copy paste back, you go back and forth. It's good, get a good result. But yeah, it's like a lot of cut and then you forget, oh, where was I? So you got to start again. But with the software you guys have, it's just another level and it's so good.
How do you like running a business like this compared to like the physical type location stuff?
I must prefer this. I'm an entrepreneur. I've been a professional guitar player, I've like run a restaurant, I owned a hotel, I started a farm, I sold tea bag paper, I have a food safety label business and now I'm doing digital marketing. I've done like all different sorts of things. So like I've enjoyed it all, but this is what I prefer to do. It's super exciting. You just feel like you're more control, you can manage your time. And then yeah, you just get all these exciting products from people who are building businesses, doing all sorts of stuff and you get to be a part of their journey for a while and help boost it in a way they couldn't otherwise.
Nice. If you were speaking to someone watching this video right now, they're kind of just like dabbling in like random entrepreneurial feats, whatever, but like they're not really seeing any kind of like concrete level of success with anything. What piece of advice would you tell them as a serial successful entrepreneur? Like, is there any kind of guiding piece of advice that you would give to them, this person?
People often say, oh yeah, what's the kit? There's no kit, it's like do the fucking work. Are you serious? If you really want to be successful, choose something. Back in the day I was learning like futures trading and stuff and there's a bunch of systems, right? Find a system that works. So find what? Which ones are the scams, Eliminate them. Find these work. Okay, which one do I like? You go 100% in on that. Okay, so if you're going to join CA, turn fucking YouTube off, don't watch another fucking hormonesy video or anyone else. Just 100% like, this is the only thing you do now and it's going to be fucking really boring and really fucking long. You're going to feel like, I'm not making any progress. But you just keep doing it. You see these people who go, I tried cold email, it didn't work. How many emails you said, oh, you know, I sent like a hundred. Only got one sale. You got one sale out of 100, but why don't you sell 100 a day and then you make a sale every day? Do the volume like I think you mentioned in videos, just like, just pick a channel and keep doing it. It gets boring, but just keep going. And you cannot fail if you just keep going.
Last question, was joining worth it?
Dude, I don't even know. I just can't wait till you guys have an event and I have the opportunity to come over when I've got the time and just. Thank you. This has been absolutely amazing for me. It's just re inspired me because like I hang out mostly with my girlfriend and my daughter. That's like my main sort of social crew. I don't bother going out with too many people. So in ca, that's kind of like my business inspiration. So I get in there and it's just like I'm all inspired because everyone's just killing it. Everyone's just like trying to like do stuff and share information and share ideas. So I've already got the value out of it. If the whole thing fucking shut down right now, I'd be like super happy. I'd be like, dude, I value in 6 weeks.
Thanks for coming on, everybody watching this. I'm going to leave Chris's links in the description. So if you want to connect with him, you could do so first link in the description, go client Ascension AI and then you can run your own successful AI assisted agency. Thanks so much, brother, I appreciate it.
Cheers, man, appreciate it, thank you.
