Case Study: 12k/mo in his first month with an AI Assisted Agency

Dobie made $12,000 in his first month after joining an AI-assisted agency program. He went from struggling as a freelancer to landing his first client in two weeks using Dream 100 outreach and restructured offers, with help from tools like Make.com and Close.

What's up everybody? I got my friend Dobie here. He is an AI assisted agency and you hit 12k in your first month, is that right?
Yes, sir.
All right, cool. That's awesome. And in this video we're going to, for the audience here, we're going to talk about exactly how that happened, what he sells, how he got to this point, how that all works at all. First note though is a quick disclaimer is that this is not an average result in the program. I'm not saying that you're going to join and every single one of you is going to make 12k in your first month. That's just not the case. In fact, U.S. bureau of Labor Statistics claims that 20% of businesses fail in the first year and 65% are going to fail in the first 10 years. So you actually have a higher probability of failing than you do succeeding. However, my mission is to give you and equip you with enough information so that you increase your probability of success. But this is in no way a promise that you're going to just make a bunch of money. It's work. Right. And we'll kind of talk about that in a second. Adobe how did you get to where you are just kind of like your life situation, like what were you doing? And then like how do you start getting into this business stuff and like figure out what to sell and like kind of like origin of how you got here and decided to do.
Yeah. So I had recently graduated college a year ago and I had like an internship. It's all seemed like it was going well, but as like I started graduating, I started applying to a bunch of jobs and I just didn't land any. I've always been interested in entrepreneurship and like I tried making a couple bits of online money. Like I looked into dropshipping, I looked into trading, looked into content creation and none of those really stuck. But when I finally graduated out of college, I was just scrolling YouTube one day and I was like, oh shit, there's this AI automation thing. I should probably try this out because I really did enjoy building different things and technologies that have practical use rather than just enterprise level. I'll code and then that's it. I don't even know what it's for. Yeah, so I tried multiple different things. I started freelancing, building the automations for people in their backend. It kind of worked, but it took five months before I even got anywhere that it looked like it was worth something. And that was when I joined Define Ascension.
So you kind of like figuring out different random stuff to sell and like the bottleneck was that you just really couldn't sign clients. What was going on before this time of joining? Client ascension.
Yeah. So I picked a niche and I was like, oh, I could do coaches and consultants. That sounds pretty fair. So I would hop on upwork and I just look for honestly random jobs. I said my niche was coaches and consultants, but my offer was terrible and I would just pick any job I could find on upwork. But I did try to like avoid one time builds and like in hindsight that probably wasn't a good idea because I kind of needed case studies. But every person that I found I was able to convert onto retainer and like get monthly subscription going since my offer was so poor and even I didn't know what I was delivering them. My pricing was 500amonth or a thousand a month. So increasing MRR was just completely horrible.
How'd you kind of get into this entrepreneurial type thing? Were you running little side businesses in high school or college? If someone had given you a job offer like 60, 70k year, would you have taken it? What was kind of like going through your pet here? Because investing in stuff, like I know you joined some other people's stuff and then you joined my stuff. It's not cheap. So like how'd you like go through that process of like, no, I'm doing this.
I tried a couple avenues in college. I tried building an Instagram page that I hoped improved my drop shipping. I tried content creation, like trying to just build up views, tried streaming and all of that. It just never stuck. I was actually possibly on the track to like land a proper job after college but because of all of that I just didn't get that job. It was like a high paying six figure job because I have a computer science degree. So if I had gotten that job I definitely would have taken it. But in hindsight a year later it's probably one of my biggest blessings that I didn't get that job.
I was kind of the same when I first got out is towards the back couple months of college I was applying to some jobs and then I saw some video on YouTube that was how to make 10k a month with Amazon FBA and I was like, I want guys channel. I watched every single video and I was like, three days later I was wiring money to some company in China to manufacture some product for me and I was like, yeah bro, I'm doing this. I got a product and flipped it and just made money and I Was like, wow. I'm like, there's literally no way at all that I could ever never go back to having another job. Was there like a point like that for you where you saw something occur and you were like, there's no point of return. I will never, ever go work for somebody ever again.
It really was like my first month into running. Not even the first month, it was a weekend. This is when I already started freelancing. I got on upwork and I was just like, okay, yeah, I'm just gonna apply to as many as I can. So I dropped like a hundred dollars on just credits and I just started spam applying to everything. And within like four days, somebody replied. And he was like, okay, let's do it. It was a shitty 15 an hour job. The speed at which I got from not being paid to paid, surely this is better than getting a real job. The work wasn't too much. I was able to work with the owner. So, like, I got a little bit of founder experience rather than just manager experience. Right? Yeah. From there I just kept applying and applying, applying. I'm like, wow, I'm already making more than my internship in college. Then I could just work at home on my computer. And that was definitely the point where I was telling myself, even if this entire business model fails, I could just go back to freelancing and make more.
Money and you have the freedom to, like, do whatever you want. I always say my thing was like, dude, there's no way I can live a life where I need to request for time off. There's literally no way I can. I would rather make less money than feel, like, shackled. It's literally like, you're imprisoned. I can't go somewhere else. What are you talking about? You know, So I was always more of like a freedom type dude. And then I guess over time you just become, like, pretty skilled at the literal just making of money that you're like, well, I can just make more. Did you have that kind of going through your head where it was like, if I can just make this much, I'm good?
Yeah, yeah, for sure. I told myself it was 8k a month. I told myself I was like, if I can make 4k a month, I'm already doing better than the average guy. And if I could do that all online and I can choose when I want to work and I can just do it in the comfort of my home or anywhere, honestly, I thought it'd be amazing.
And then now that you hit $12,000 in your first month, what's going through your head now. Are you also going to that thing where it's like, well, I might as well just go for 25.
Yeah. Yeah.
Or I might as well just, like, try to make 40k a month. That's exactly it.
I hit 12k and honestly, it was every single time I landed a new client. So every single time I landed a new client, that bar of like, I'd be happy if it was here. It ke moving up. When I made 5k a month, I was like, oh, wow, I hit my main goal. All right, let's do 10k. And then when I hit 8k, I was like, I should go to 15k. And now that I'm at 12k, I'm like, why should I stop? I should make it a 25k. The goal is 30k by February.
Everybody always says, I'll just make this much and then I'll chill.
And it's like, no, you won't.
You think you will, but then you're there. And then it's so hard in the beginning to get the stuff off the ground. It's like, it's an inclined amount of effort, but then you just, like, know how to do it and you're like, well, there's no point to just stop. It's like, less work over time.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Because you just know stuff. I think where people don't understand is like the first getting started, and they're like, super overwhelmed. You're overwhelmed because of uncertainty. You don't know how to do things. But when you do something for the first time and then it works successfully, like, there's no uncertainty in your head. Like, you just know how to do. It's like riding a bike. When you got your training wheels off for the first time, you were probably terrified. And then like, you know how to ride a bike. It's not a problem. You know what I mean? If I can ride the bike just for 10 seconds, I'll be happy. It's like, now you can, like, get on it and be on it for like, literally three hours straight and go like 10 miles. It's crazy. So, okay, moving on. The investment in to AI Assisted agency is not cheap. How do did you go about justifying this in your head? Did you think it was, like, insane to do that or, like, just walk me through kind of that thought process you had?
When I heard the price, I definitely the first thing that came to mind was, that's 100% sure less than college. The instant thing that came to my mind was like, that's the price it takes to learn that much information. And before I joined, I watched like a bunch of your YouTube videos and I gained a lot of the knowledge for free. And I was like, if that's the knowledge and that's the information I get for free, then I'd be more than happy to pay that much just for the premium version of it, right? And like when I heard about the community and all of that, I was like, oh, so it's more than just courses. It's more than just like a community even. It was like accountability. And it was like a community of expert coaches who did the exact thing honestly off of that sales call. Like I was already sold. I purchased on the sales call. I was so confident that the only thing stopping me, and it's that one quote that keeps ringing in my head, if it's a matter of when. And that kept ringing in the back of my head and I'm like, I already saw what five months of hard work can do, how much more if I do another six months of really four focused community based, dedicated work. And just after the first month, I'm already seeing the results. I think my future thinking really justified the price.
It occurred to me that there's a category of person out there. They see something like a program like ours. It's interesting because like I run cold traffic ads and I'll get people coming in at the time and they're like, bro, I'm not buying your course for that much. And it's like it's not just a course where you come in and like you watch something like you never hear from us ever again. It has occurred to me that there's people out there who legitimately think that any kind of course or program is outright a scam. They are under the impression that legitimately there's zero deliverables in the product. Like they actually think that like it's a scheme where like I get their money, like you don't get anything and like, hahaha, I took your money. They actually think it's like that. What would you say to this person to try to like just get it through their head where it's like, bro, you're not understanding that the purpose of this is to make more money. It actually works. Do you have like friends who say something like that? Or like what is your thought process around it? Or like response to those kinds of people?
I think money has always been just a tool. It's just been a vehicle. And if you're willing to trade anything for money, it should always be skills and experiences. And I think buying these types of courses, and I'm not saying you should buy every single course, whatever, but like courses that have the case studies, have the proven results. Those are the types of investments, to your own knowledge, that is so important. Even if I left the course today, I have learned more and met more people in the last month than I have in the last four years. This last month going through the courses, I was telling my team this, guys, I have met more millionaires in the last month than I have my entire life. Life. I went from meeting zero to meeting like 20. It's really about the network. It's really about the ability to just send a message to somebody and say, hey, I don't really know how to do this and I'm incredibly new to this field. Can you teach me? And every single person in this community has been willing to do that. And I think that's what really justifies the money. Money is just a trade. You trade money for skills, experiences, network. And I think client ascension did all of that for me.
Were you scared at any point before joining that, what if this doesn't work for me?
I think so. At the start I was scared, but really after the first two days of just watch the course material and seeing like, that actually makes perfect sense. When I joined in, I grinded the course material 14 hours a day. Like I just sat there, I watched every single video. After watching all the videos, I was like, I already got my money's worth. I already know all this information. I just need to implement it now.
People who are like considering this, they think it's just a course and it's like, no, this is like a very small component of this. There's 17 live calls a week and you can go to any of them and you have a team chat with a bunch of other people and you're like literally in a team with other people who are like similar to you. And then there's one on one calls actually interact with people. Is very interesting thing because we've been running Client Ascension for like four years, right? There's been a lot of people have joined and then they leave and they go to some other program and then they come back and they're like, oh, dude, I thought that one was going to be like yours, but then I joined that. It's just not like that. I actually think that in the information product world, we have legitimately actually the best one in terms of like deliverables of product. We like spoil people when they get in and they see what we have and they think everyone has that and then they go join something else. Like, oh, shit. They literally have like one fifth of what is included in that. It's like there's a reason our margins aren't like 80% to operate this business. There's a lot of cost because there's a lot of stuff that you get.
Yeah, yeah, for sure. It's amazing.
Once you were inside the program and you got the information and whatnot and like you were prepared to go actually start acquiring clients. Like, what did that look like? What were the first, like 1, 2, 3 steps you took to actually like implement what was inside?
Yeah. So like I said, I just watched all the course material. I watched at least all the relevant ones. There were a couple of business models that didn't align with what I was looking for. Like I said, I had an agency from before. Just being completely honest, the first week I almost pivoted to funnels and ads. I did five months of automations and I loved it. And then I joined Client Ascension and I was like, oh my gosh. And ads. This sounds so good. I can do this for sure. The plan was to cross sell automations because you need automations, right? You need lead capture, you need to build a CRM. So I was like, I'll just get really good at funnels and ads and do all of that. After that first week I was like, I was feeling pretty miserable because I was like, man, this actually wasn't something I wanted to do. But after that first week of just learning even what a funnel was, I just didn't know or learning what an offer was because I also didn't know the difference between cold traffic and warm traffic. I just started reaching out to people. I went to the WINS channel and I just started reaching out to people and I just started saying like, hey, I need a bit of help here and I'd be willing to do this, this and this free. And as I started doing that and as I kept doing that, not only did like I make a bunch of friends, but I also met a whole group of potential clients within my icp. And then of course I like, I spoke with my student success coach, built a whole plan around that and it really like the number one thing that I got from Client Ascension that I could never get back if I went to other places. Let's say I just kept watching your YouTube videos over a extended period of time. I probably would have learned a lot. But with Incline Ascension, I met so many people and such a Brilliant community that had I not joined, it would have just been impossible for me to scale that quickly.
Yeah, there's like 500 people in there.
No, it's amazing.
It's like active too. It's not dead.
It's really not.
Let's talk about like, you joined and you started implementing the material, like doing outreach and whatever. Like, how long was it until you signed your first client from doing what we taught?
Yeah. So from Dream 100 alone, it took me two weeks to land my first client. And when I say land my first client, I mean I was making 3k, but changing up my offer, changing up my package, deliverable stacking, I was able to charge them 4,4k a month. So I went from 3k to 7k off one client simply because I changed my offer. I learned how to market, I learned how to build a proper offer with good deliverables, with good case studies that convinces people that, yeah, this is a service that's worth this much money. And I know it's worth this much money because I will buy back that much time. Those concepts of ROI calculators and being able to actually show the real deliverable that you're going to do, that was something that really changed the way I can fix up my pricing. For sure.
Yeah, dude, this is the analogy I've been using. If you have a seed, so a seed is your offer, it's like the product you're selling and then you plant that in soil and the soil is a presentation of it. So it's like the deliverable stacking, like how it's being presented on sales deck, for instance. And then the water and sunlight is traffic. If all of those exist, then the plant just grows and like that's the equivalent of you making money. So it's like if you just have a product, you know how to present the product correctly, like deliverable stacking, all this stuff we teach inside and then you give it water and sunlight, it just does grow, it just does make money. It's interesting that there's always like a massive fear that people have through, like we talked about it earlier. What if this doesn't work? What if this doesn't work? What if this doesn't work? It's like you're not understanding that to these people, it's like we're instructing you of what products have demand. This is all the stuff that people actively sell right now that makes money right now. So these are seeds, These are non dud seeds. These will grow a plant. This is how you construct the soil. To make sure it grows. And then this is how you put the sunlight and the water in it. Like we literally give you the water and like how to put the sunlight. It just does work. If you actually do the thing, it will work. For what reasons? It's interesting because you have to like give a disclaimer to people. It's like not everyone's going to get results. But why is not everyone going to get results? And it's because they don't do something correctly. You could have two people, same exact seed, same exact instructions, same exact literally resources to everything and one of them can make it work and one of them cannot. You're just not doing it correctly. That's like why most businesses fail. Some people will have a job or something or they're just like super comfortable and they literally just like have zero motivation to do it at all. It's just the mechanics of it. It's just a math equation. It's like if you put this and this together, it just does tends to work exactly.
Just to the analogy, like if you're not watering the plant and you're not properly putting it near the sun, you're not properly putting in the right soil, then of course it's not going to grow. No matter how many seeds you.
What is it? Because people are probably wondering. So inside we have a bunch of different offers. We teach. There's AI automation agency that comes with its own set of different things you can sell. You can run a funnel and ads agency that has a whole bunch of different offers. You can run a Legion agency that's a whole bunch of different things you can sell. But you in particular run what's called an AI automation agency. Could you like quickly explain to people what kind of stuff you sell and what exactly you do in that business? What are you doing for clients?
So what I do is that I build backend systems that allows all the pieces of a business pipeline to be automated. And what that means is there's a lot of pieces within a business pipeline that is manual and that could take people maybe five, 10, even 20 hours a week, just manually dragging things around or manually copy pasting. So pretty much what I deliver are systems that work almost a hundred percent of the time and completely removed all of that manual labor. That way it literally buys back the founder and all of their team's time in exchange, of course, it saves them loads of money. Imagine if you have a VA who needs to drag over and over and over again. You need to consistently train that va, you need to consistently have them do all of the pieces, 100% accuracy. And remember, human errors exist as well. But instead if you just rely on technology, especially if the world is moving closer to AI, closer to all these technological solutions, if you lean onto that and you adapt and you grow your normal business to a AI automated machine, you might not need the VA anymore. You can get 99% of the way just by having the systems built in your backend. And it's always going to work. It's not like a VA who can just make a mistake and then suddenly you lose a client. These systems, once they're implement, will work forever.
How difficult is it to learn how to do this?
To learn? A couple people in the community asked me this actually. The distance from getting from 0% like good at it to 80% good at it, you could do it in three days of just watching YouTube. The distance from getting 80% good at it to 99% good at it will take a couple months. But the best part is that you can run this business model at 80%. You don't need to be 90% to run this business model for sure. Not because the systems, like the backend systems that you can build are incredibly simple. That if you just have a couple days of understanding what an if else statement is, is what an API is, it's going to click. And a lot of the problems that these businesses have are not, oh, I want a complicated AI solution, rag, database, pull from this, this and this. Most people aren't asking for that. They just want an onboarding process. They just want to stop dragging and dropping every single time they land a client. They just don't want to make a slack room ever again.
Anyone watching this video right now is still probably thinking like, oh, I'm considering that business. They like still don't even know what it is you sell. That's why when we were making the AI automation agency content inside of client ascension, we were like, okay, the best way to teach this is to show a sal sales call of an actual live client. For this offer. You actually see the live back and forth between what do you want and then the actual live build of what was sold to the client. So like okay, open my screen, Boom, I do this. This is literally like live build. When people see that, it probably like conceptualizes much better. But for now, like just for the audience, like what kind of tools and software are you generally using to fulfill for clients?
Here in this starting off I use make.com, which is a no code automation tool. It's Just drag and drop bubbles. And you just need to understand the logic. For CRM, I mainly use close I as well as HubSpot for like communication channels. There's just a lot of external connections. So like you could slack, Google Chat, Google Sheets. All of it's connectable within make.com and then really what I do, and I started off with only doing make.com and I still recommend it to people because it's the cheapest option, but it's also not. It's still rigid. But what I do now is that I just adapt to whatever my client is. So it could be make.com, nan Zapier, all of these no code tools, as long as they have one, then I could just build the same system. Exactly the same, just copy paste.
So you're running a pretty successful business here right now. You're making a good amount of money beyond the money. Has anything changed in your life? How is this in comparison to, like, before you had this running before the money?
Just me personally, I was struggling to find purpose. Honestly, I was struggling to find, like, what are my actual goals? What do I want to end up being? Who am I as a person? I don't want to say, like the money number is the reason why I've grown this position, but for sure, the journey and the work that it took to get to this money really defines me as a person. If somebody went to me and asked me on the street, what do you do? I go up to them and I tell them I'm an entrepreneur. I'm running a small business right now and I make a lot of money online. I. I'm so proud to say that, yeah, I broke the rat race. I work on my own time and I do something that I love to do.
Nice, good stuff. Imagine you were speaking to somebody watching this video right now, and they're in the position that you were like six, seven months ago. And they've like dabbled around with different stuff, but they haven't really, like gone into something or picked something or like fully like, made the decision, like, I'm going to do this. They're just dabbling around with different stuff. What piece of advice would you give to this person?
You'll never know where you'll end up if you stand still and if you see a lot of options in front of your face. The enemy of the good is trying to be perfect. So just making a decision and walking towards a path that you think will bring you fulfillment is so much better than just standing still. Even if you fail on that path that you decide on, as long as you still viewpoint it as I did this, I gained all these experiences. And you learn from these mistakes that honestly will just set you up. There's this, the mountain analogy where like you just climb a bunch of mountains and you don't know which mountain you really like until you make it to the top. You'll never know which mountain you like unless you make it to the top. You could do as much research as you can on the, the base of the mountain, but you'd literally never know until you just take the risk. There's no like 50% climbing the mountain. You have to commit to a mountain. You have to just do it. And if you do do it and like the community does a great job of keeping you accountable, keep your mind in the right place. I'm like, I think that's one of the biggest things from the community as well, like helping me be in the right mindset as to how I can continue climbing this mountain. But when you get to the top, even if it's not where you want it to end up now you can see across the horizon line all the other mountains that you possibly can climb that you couldn't see when you were at the bottom.
How much do you think the program and client extension helped you get to where you are now? How much was this worth it?
Money wise, I made my money back my second week. Time wise, this has sped up my process a hundred times. The difference about who I would be without Client Ascension right now, who I would be versus who I am now. Client Ascension 100%. 100x My progression in my business and in my entrepreneurship as well as like just my future in general. I know a hundred percent. When I turn 30, which is like seven years from now, I know a hundred percent. I'm going to look back and say that was the date I joined Client Ascension and that date is the date that my life changed.
Good stuff bro. Thanks for coming on. Good sir. Everybody watching this. I'm going to leave Dobie's links in the description. If you want to connect with him, you can hit him up. Maybe you can buy some stuff from him, some AI automation build outs from him. And if you want to join the AI Assisted Agency program and see Dobie inside there, that'll be the first link in the description. Go Client Ascension AI. If you got any value like subscribe, leave a comment. Thank you for coming on. I appreciate it.
Thank you. Thank you.
