Short interview where Daniel Fazio speaks with Steven, a content-agency owner who says his agency grew from ~$2,000/month to $23,000 in monthly collections within about 90 days after joining the Client Ascension program. What's up, everybody? Got Steven here, he runs a content agency and he's been in client accession for about three months now. And Steven, you. The month before you joined, you did about 2,000 in revenue. And in this last month you just collected $23,000. That's about an 11x increase in 90 days. What changed? What happened to do that?
Yeah, so the biggest change from between when we were making 2k a month versus when we collected 23k a month in January was honestly just the volume. We were definitely not doing enough volume. We had no cold email campaign set up. We weren't doing enough content. We were kind of just like just slacking in terms of just straight volume. And then what helped a lot is joining Client Ascension because of the community. Right. You know, if everyone's doing the same thing around you, you're going to want to do it too. So before when we were making 2k a month, we didn't really have that community feeling, so. So I wasn't really motivated to set up my cold email campaign, send DMs because when you're doing that stuff by yourself, it's very, you know, it can be dreadful sometimes because, you know you're not going to get any results until you do like a lot of volume. So when we joined Client Ascension, we did a shit ton more volume. And then, you know, once we started to get more clients, we didn't stick to just fulfilling for the clients. We, you know, we started delegating more. And so once we delegate some of our fulfillment, we were able to go out there and sell and then just keep building the business like that.
So basically it's just, it's just following the protocol or it's make an offer. People feel stupid saying no to absolutely insane amounts of volume. Get the sales calls, close it, fulfill for the clients.
That's it, essentially. Yeah. Because before we joined Clan Ascension, we honestly didn't even have an offer. Oh no, I think we did have an offer, but it was like super shitty. Like our total addressable market was like, like super low. We didn't really, like they didn't really want the service we were offering them anyways. So when we joined, like, you know, we just followed the protocol. You guys helped us, you know, create our offer and then, you know, go on from there.
Dude, I feel like I don't, I don't know very many content agencies that are actually successful if they're not inside Client Ascension. It's very funn.
Yeah. Or. And if they're not inclined Ascension, they're probably just like a freelance editor. They're not like a full done for you agency. They're kind of like commoditized.
Yes. Did you effectively. Was that like, effectively what you were before? Like, you were literally just like a video editor and now you're an actual agency with clients?
It was more so we were like social media managers. Like, we were just kind of like on the page, but we didn't really offer any real value. So to be charging what we're charging right now. So we just added more things to our offer and then we position it in a better way than just, oh, we'll be on your social media page and post on your story and write your captions. Like, that's kind of an outdated offer, especially with, you know, how the market's going right now. So we kind of just sophisticated our offer and just improved it.
Yeah, it's so. It's so. So it's. It's actually hilarious how sometimes you could change just what the offer is, and then it completely transforms the entire business. And it takes a lot of. It takes a bit of finagling whenever someone first comes in because they don't, like, understand what I'm trying to say around an offer. Like, oh, I have an offer. It's like, no, you don't have an offer. You have a service. Yeah, offer, and then you make an offer, and then magically you start collecting 11 times more money. Which is just like, hilarious.
Exactly. Because before we had an offer, before ca, we just had a service. So when we tried, you know, offering people, you know, yeah, we'll do this for like, 4,000, $3,000. They'll just look at you funny like, what, what did you used to tell me? But then when we implemented the offer, we can easily, you know, tell them our price and they won't just, like, stare at us and just think we're like, fools or something.
Yeah, because it makes sense. It's like, they know, like, what's the result I'm going to get? And, like, how is. It just makes sense. It's. It's so funny. So what is. What is that? Like, how does it feel to run something? Like, like, are. Are you confident in your ability to scale this now? Like, like, what was it like before and what is it like now?
100%. I'm definitely more confident in my abilities to scale this because the fact that I even got here is just a testament to, like, you know, what we can do, you know, when we're at 2k, like, oh, we just, you know, we're at 2k a month. This is like, this is nothing. But now that we collected 23k in January, like you said, that's like a 10, 11x increase, like. And, yeah, so I'm confident in my abilities, but I'm also confident because I'm in ca, I have all the help I can get, all the support I need. Just, you know, asking the coaches, asking, you know, anyone else in the community, because there's a lot of other content agencies in the community too, who are, you know, above me. And then, you know, everyone's super chill. I can just go to them and they'll just answer all my questions. And honestly, if you just ask questions and then you execute exactly what they say, like, you can't lose dope. And that's the hard thing. Not being in ca, there was no one to ask questions to, so I was kind of just like wandering in a dark room with no guidance, no light.
