How Ayman’s YouTube Agency Went From 2k to 44k/mo in 9 Months inside Client Ascension

Eamon grew his YouTube marketing agency from $2k to $44.3k monthly in nine months by pivoting to long-form content and doing free YouTube videos for prospects. He used Twitter and referrals for inbound, hired editors and copywriters, and set targets of $50k by September and $75k by year-end.

Sup everybody? I got Eamon here. Eamon is in Client Ascension. What have you been in here for like nine months?
Yep, nine months.
Could you share with everyone what is your business and kind of like the growth of it and how things have elapsed so far here for you? Just like a whole story of what happened?
Yeah, 100%. So when I joined Client Ascension, I was at 2K a month. And then already now after nine months I'm at 44K a month. And essentially when I joined, I joined as a short form content agency and it was actually me and Daniel who spun up the offer. That's like, I'm going to make you 60 shorts using two hours of your time. And that ripped. So I joined Client Ascension at one client and I didn't have any case studies and then I scaled within 2 months to 8 clients and I was doing like 15k a month in my prime. And then it went down in April because what happened was the market's sophisticated there. I just had to rethink to myself, okay, what am I going to do? And then my only client who was getting results was doing long form content. So I was like, okay, long form content for YouTube, I should double down on that. So I upsold as many clients as I could to that and then I just cut things off with the rest. And then from there the agency just evolved into a YouTube marketing agency. I call it like YouTube sales funnel. And then from there we we've just been ripping like right now we have 16 or 15 active clients. I kind of lose count. And yeah, that's like a 30 second rundown on the story. Yeah.
What, what's your revenue now?
Yeah, 44.3 K US. Cool.
Yeah. So for like everyone watching, Eamon is my editor now. But I didn't start working with Eamon as my editor until he was at like 35, 40k a month. And that was after. Because you switched from short form to doing YouTube. And then I was just seeing your results and the kind of videos that you were producing in the first place. It was being sold on the exact thing that we were showing you how to do, which was creating sales assets, showing your work, trying to distribute it in every single conceivable form that you could possibly do via one. Posting your own YouTube videos. And the sales assets do. How many, how many sales assets have you done?
Like for other people or myself?
Yourself?
Myself. I've done so many. Like there was a while where I was doing one per week and then I kind of died off for A bit. Obviously I didn't stay consistent. I couldn't even tell you. But it feels like over 30, I feel. I feel like around 30. Something like 25. I might be overestimating. I don't know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I made a ton. What.
What I want to kind of have you walk through for, like, a lot of people watching is what it takes to sign a deal. Because, like, a lot of people, like one, like, there might be like, some people who did short form and they're watching this and they've heard two things at this point now. It was one, you were doing short form, and then you stopped doing short form. And something I think that they should pay attention to is the fact that you said all of your clients were getting results, were doing long form. So you pivoted to primarily in, I think, exclusively doing long form now, because the success of your company is going to be solely determined on you being able to produce case studies, like, legit. That's the only way. Now I know you've put in slack and, like, you see someone do something, you do some manual outreach and like, the lengths you actually go to run a sales process. Because I feel like there's a lot of people who, they see something where it's like, oh, just like, whip up this automated cold DM campaign and like, you just magically sign clients with no conception of that. You actually have to put in a concerted effort to sign people. Could you walk us through maybe like some kind of like, sales cycle you've done? Maybe. Maybe it's like the gamma dude, or like someone else or like, you did a manual outreach to them and like, just to display to people, like, what it actually takes.
Yeah, 100%. So to really get someone to give you money and pull out their credit card, pay you 3k a month, 5k, 2k a month. Like, for example, I have one client who's paying me 6k a month, and I use this exact method to sign him. So pay attention. Essentially what I would do is I would give free work, right? Because, you know, a lot of the times when you sign up for a SaaS product, it's like you'd like to have a free trial, right? Because you want to see what it's like to work with someone before they give you money, whether it's $10 a month or 6k a month. So I took that concept from SaaS and I brought it to the agency and I did learn this from you and client ascension. It's called, like, Dream 100 Outreach. So what I would do is I would make one free YouTube video for someone that I really, really wanted to work with. And I would only do this for people who I really wanted to, essentially. And what I would do is I would go through my whole process as if they were my client. But what you need to do is make it so the client or the person you're reaching out to has to do the least amount of work possible on their end in order to kind of see the ROI from whatever you gave them for free. Right. Unfortunately, in my case, since I'm doing YouTube videos, I still need them to record, but what I would do is facilitate that process as much as possible. Right? So I would literally go do market research on what's happening in their niche, what their competition is doing, and then I would write up a free YouTube script for them, send it to them, and send them a loom and go like, hey, I made you a free YouTube video. I really want to work with you, but I just want to make a free video first because I noticed XYZ, like, oh, you don't have any YouTube videos, but you're popping on Twitter. So let's bring that over to YouTube. And then I'd give them the script, give them a loom, kind of walk through how to record. Oh, here's the recording software with a tutorial. And really just give them everything for free. And then if they recorded and they sent me the footage, like it was game. Like, I have like a hundred percent success rate or like 99. I think just one person didn't sign after I did it. So it's just been working like crazy. That's so. Really, you can't just spam people with, like, stupid dms. Like, you really have to try for a sale.
Yeah, like, you did that to me. And like, something to note is on the doc, the entire, like, premise of it was, it was a very. It was a specific video title with a screenshot of Vidiq and like, Eamon explaining, like, you should make a video around this because there's this much search going on for this exact phrase and there's not a lot of competition on it. And all the videos that are successful around this, they do it like this and they talk like this and like this segment. So you should say these specific things and obviously put your own spin on it. But here's some talking points. Here's the thing that you should promote after, and then here's all the tags and the description that you need for it to actually rank via SEO. So it's an actual concerted effort you put forward into it. And if you just do that on your first 30k to 40k a month, that works really well because it's around like that. I mean it starts to happen like 10k a month. But like proof that you've worked with other people, you can't, you can't like scale automated outbound unless you have a lot of proof in case studies. Like it really just doesn't work. You, you pretty much have no choice but to do something like that in the beginning. Or like if you are going to do automated outreach, it's like promoting free. But this is just a more non spammy way of doing it. It just, it just works considerably better.
100%.
So how are you growing it now because you're at 44. What is, are you planning on introducing any other kind of marketing mechanisms or marketing channels to grow this? And like where are you trying to take it? Like do you have like an angle?
Yep, a hundred percent. So to answer the first part in terms of where our leads come from right now, so it's an even split from inbound, from Twitter and then YouTube is pretty equal to Twitter because I make YouTube videos myself and I'll talk about this later, but if you're selling something, you should do it yourself. I mean that's probably why one reason why you're working with me is because you see I make YouTube videos, right? Yeah, there's so many short form agencies selling shorts like oh, you'll get this many inbounds but they don't have one single short form video. I just stole that completely from your Twitter. I know you put a tweet out on that. So I'm getting leads 33% ish from like Twitter. Like 33, let's say from YouTube or maybe slightly less like I don't know, 25, 30. And then the rest is coming from referrals and then also outbound kind of like warm DMs with people I see engage with me on Twitter. I have like a conversation with them and then I morph it into a sales convo or it's from my lead magnets on Twitter that like I'll send them to a YouTube video and then in the like after they opt into the lead magnet on Twitter I'll morph that convo into a sales conversation using automated, automated follow ups from hypefury. And I learned that in Client Ascension. Basically everything I know, I learned it from Client Ascension attention in you guys. And in terms of where I'M trying to take the agency. So yeah, right now we're sitting at 44amonth. I want to get to 50 by the end of September. That's the goal I set for myself. And we're currently on pace. Like I closed the deal this morning for like 3.5 while I was just outside. And then by the end of the year the goal I set is 75k a month. But if we can get to like 83.333 hit that 1 million, yeah, that'd be dope. So that's kind of where I have my eyes on.
How many team members do you have?
Yep. So right now we have three full time editors and then we have one part time project manager slash copywriter and then I just onboarded another part time person who's going to help me with copywriting as well.
What revenue level did you hire these people at? Because this is like such a huge problem for people when they get to around like normally like 8k to 10k a month. They are super scared to hire someone because if they hire someone they're thinking like what if I can't get new business? But they can't get new business if they don't have time to go get new business and they're doing all of the work. So like how did you maneuver around that situation?
Yep. So basically, obviously I know how to video edit myself and I still edit some videos to this day. Now I'm more exited from there. So to answer your question, when I hired I got my first short form editor right around like it was January so I was like 5k a month. And then I got an editor because my I was paying him on a project basis and he was fine with that because he saw my growth and I was like, look, as I scale you're going to make more money. Which is true. He's making like double or triple what he used to make. And then so I hired right around there because I knew, okay, if I could just get these because it's not that hard to edit a short form video. Especially based on what the style that was in demand back in the day. It was pretty easy. Made some SOPs, pass it on. Which is something I learned from Andre at Klein Ascension, the operations wizard. And then let's see, I got my second editor right around like 12k a month around there because I just saw his skill level was crazy. And then from there just like I got the third editor like a month ago and then I'm trying to hire two more right now because I'M I learned from Andre that you have to hire in advance. And I can already see like the lead flow in the pipeline. I'm like, oh my God, I don't want to stop taking clients. And yeah, that's kind of how the hiring timeline went for me.
How do you run these operations? Is it through like a Trello project management system like Andre taught you?
Yep. So I learned exactly from Andre. Basically on a call live with Andre, we built out a Trello board and I built it out in January and then it still works today. And then I had someone else from Client Ascension help me turn it into a short form content board into long form content. And then it's funny, like also using the SOPs in client ascension or the learning modules I have, like the onboarding is automated and then it just copies the Trello template and then does a bunch of other automations too. And then I named like the long form Trello template, like Big Mac or something. And then the short form one is McDouble because I used to work at McDonald's. So it's funny I showed that to Andre. He was laughing. But yeah, Trello right now for project management. And we communicate through Slack and then yeah, our tech stack is pretty simple, like Trello, Slack, Google Drive and yeah, that's pretty much it.
Yeah, no, I know. Are you expanding out your services to, to do ad creatives? Because you've, you've done some ad creatives for us. So is that like something that you start offering as well?
Yep. So right now, in terms of the plan for that, I definitely want to do YouTube ads. I don't really want to get into the media buying yet because I don't want to like complicate stuff. And that's fine. What I realized is I learned this from you. The market wants the creatives because media buying isn't that hard anymore. Like the software just does it for you. So right now I started off, I'm just doing editing for Creatives. So I did that for you guys in cold email Mastery. And then I'm going to get onto scripting. I'm learning how to script right now. And then I'll see media buying. Like after 83.333amonth, I'll like get onto that. But I don't want to over complicate and add too much stuff because I know what I'm doing right now is going to work. So I just want to let Chad Skill.
Yeah, I think all the ad guys kind of don't understand this. I mean like Five, six years ago, like it was kind of a job to sit here and try to maneuver the ad sets around this way. And it like today though, like every ad platform, it's very, extremely, heavily automated. What that has done, I mean like dude, I can go into my YouTube ads thing and it like, it just me like if you want to scale, like just click this button. It's like okay. Like it's not, it's not difficult. It's all AI and it works like it actually does. I think a lot of people who are like, I'm an ad agent, they don't understand conceptually that what people are actually purchasing in the market. And I'm, I'm not just like making this shit up. People want the ad creatives, they don't want media buying and you have to sell people what they want. You're in a really nice positioning for that. So it's, it's, it's pretty cool. Do you have any, let's say someone's at like, I don't know, they're at 2k a month, like where you started when you joined client. Essentially they just have like one client or something like that and they want to get to like 10. What, what would be your best pieces of advice for them? Like what, what should they do?
I would say you need to adapt a crazy work ethic. So what I did in order to get these results is like I was pushing like 12, 14 hour days and I didn't care. Obviously there's some weeks where it's a bit down, but 12 to 14 hour days is like what I would say that's what I recommend everyone does. Because you're the founder of your company, you know how to do a lot of different stuff and you have to juggle like marketing, sales and operations for pretty much until you're at like 50, 60 to K a month sort of thing. So you have a lot of stuff to do and if you're trying to work like four hour work days and type of thing, it's not going to work right. So first you need to adapt like a good work ethic and understand that you have to put in a ton of work, right? So that's the first thing that's like the foundation. And then the second thing I would say is that if you're at like one client and you're trying to get to 10 clients, what you need to do is really focus on getting good results for that one client. But don't just drop all your marketing and sales. What you need to do do is section out your day so that you focus on getting results for the client at the start of the day, let's say. And then the rest of the day is focused on getting new clients. And when you're at like one to three clients, like I would even just take on clients for free. So I still do free work to this day. And you should too, especially if you're around one to three clients. So you want to, let's say you're selling Google Ads to ecom brands. Like just reach out to these ecom brands, pitch them, tell them, hey, I'll make you your Google Ads for free. I'm not too familiar with Google Ads, but work for free for like, like two or three more companies and get case studies. And then from there you take those case studies and you market them to more people. And I know this works because as soon as I got my first case study on my landing page, which is I scaled a coaching program from 30k a month to 75k a month using YouTube instantly like my business or since then it's like 4x, something like that or more. Yep. So social proof is the number one thing that's going to turn someone from like scared to pull out their credit card to just they want to buy from you and they're begging to pay you. To summarize, you need a good work ethic. Push like 12 to 14 hour days, ignore what everyone says. And then number two, you need to work for free and get case studies and then market those case studies and make sure you never drop your marketing and sales dude.
It's so funny that, I mean if someone sits here and they go through some of my other YouTube videos on my channel and I just say that same thing over and over and over again. If you don't have clients do free work, the function of the free work is to hopefully get them to become a paid client, then to produce a case study from those results. And only after the production of case studies improve will this actually begin to work. And I think like people, they won't be able to conceptualize it, but when, when you sit here or I sit here and I'm like, it takes 1012 hour days for months and months and months and months. And like I still work that amount like years, like I've been doing this for five years now. You hear that and it's like, oh yeah, I could do that. Until you're experiencing the individual day of working 10 to 12 hours and then you do it again the next and do it again the Next. And people just quit. So it's like you can't just like there's not some situation where it's like, oh, aiming, got results in client. I'll, I'll go join Client Ascension and magically I'll get the results. And you just do absolutely nothing. And it's the same for you. And I'm sure you communicate this to your clients. It's not just like you post one YouTube video, bam, you're at 75K. It just doesn't work like that. And it's like YouTube is just one piece of the funnel. You have to actually sit here and like talk to a camera and like film and like come up with ideas and like creative like, like it's such an astounding amount of work. And I think there's a question that somebody needs to really ask themselves. And it's. Rosie says this too. It's like, are you prepared to do what is required? Because this whole con and people get desensitized to it if they watch videos on my channel or like some business dude's channel or, or, or some, something on Twitter, dude, you might get desensitized to. Oh, you see, 20k a month, 30k a month. And that's just a thing. Like people just do that. It's like, bro, I don't know a single person on the planet who is at 20, 30, 40, 50 and does not do an absolutely astounding amount of work. Like actually disgusting amount of volume. That's not a thing. This automated business model, it's not real like that. That's just not a thing.
Yeah, 100%. And like I want to dive a bit deeper into that part where you're like, you know, in those starting phases of your agency. Like you kind of just have to eat shit. Like you just have to really push through and just do absurd amounts of work. Like for example, when I was first starting out from like zero to two clients, I was staying up till like 4am every day sending free short form videos to people. Even though like I had college, like final exams, I dropped out by now thanks to Client Ascension. So it's like you really just have to put an absurd amount of hours and, or just work in general. Yeah.
So everyone watching this, just go put in an extreme amount of work. Eamon, unless you have anything else to add. If you want to connect with Eamon, all of his links will be in the description. And if you want to join Client Ascension, that will also be in the description.
Thanks for join up. No problem, bro.
