How to stop being stuck at the same revenue every month

Daniel Fazio breaks down why a coach earning $60-70K/month stays stuck despite a 48% close rate: his calendar only fits five calls daily. The fix is finding your single bottleneck, whether it's pricing, capacity, or traffic, and solving that one thing before moving to the next.

So I had a coaching call the other day with a guy who's running a very successful business. He's closing 48% of the people who show up to his calls. He's getting 5 calls a day booked. He's doing around $60K to $70K a month and he is completely stuck. So he came to me asking how to double or triple his business. And within the first 5 minutes of looking at this whole operation of his, I found the single reason he couldn't grow had absolutely nothing to do with his marketing, nothing to do with his content, nothing to do with his offer, nothing to do with his sales ability. It was his calendar. So we're going to talk about finding the actual constraint in your business in this video. And after that, in the second half, we're gonna talk about getting more traffic with funnels and marketing, because I know you guys like that. So with this guy, he had 5 call slots available per day on the calendar. That's it. And every single one of them was booked. So he comes to me and says, I think I need more traffic. Do I need to post more content? Like, I'm thinking about running ads. Like, what should I do with that? And I'm like, no, you need more calendar slots. Like, how are you gonna book more than 5 calls a day if there's only 5 slots available? It doesn't make any sense. Like, you can't— it's physically impossible to do that. And this is the thing that most of you are doing right right now, not specifically with the calendar, but you're focusing on things that are not the constraint of your business. Like, that's not what's holding you back right now. You're trying to solve problems that aren't actually your problem. You're working on the wrong thing, and because you're working on the wrong thing, you're spinning your wheels, you're getting frustrated, and you're wondering why nothing is changing. You're subconsciously sabotaging your sales calls and follow-up because you're scared of fulfilling for those clients, or you hate fulfilling for clients and don't want to do all the work. There is something wrong in your business, and you are misattributing what the problem actually is to something else that's easier to solve. So today I'm gonna explain exactly how to identify the one thing that's actually holding your business back at any given time, how to fix it, and how to repeat this process over and over again until you hit whatever revenue number you want. Because the difference between somebody stuck at $10K a month and somebody at $100K a month is simply that the person at $100K has resolved more constraints than the person at $10K. That's it, there's nothing else to it. If you don't know me, my name is Daniel Fazio. I run a coaching and consulting company, one called Client Ascension, and the other one, the software company called ListKit. I personally collected, I think, close to $30 million across my offers right We're currently over $1 million a month with very high profit margins. My entire job with this channel is to help you get as rich as possible. So pay attention. Alex Hormozi calls this his theory of constraints. And despite how immune you think you are to not messing this up, I've never consulted a single person who wasn't doing this wrong. At any given point in time, your business has one single constraint, one bottleneck, one thing that if you solved it would immediately unlock growth. And the trick to actually making money is identifying that one constraint and putting all of your energy into solving that one thing. It's always the smart people that mess this up because in chess, for instance, the way to win the game is by knowing all of the possible moves that can happen in the next 3, 4, or 5 turns. So your business does not work like that. In chess, to move a piece takes zero calories in mental expenditure at all. Like, you just move the thing. All of the work and effort in chess is in the thinking about the move, like deciding what the move actually is. In real life, in your business, all of the effort and work is in making the move. It can take like weeks or months of effort just to make the one move, like actually move the piece. So chronic thinkers believe that thinking more solves the problems. It doesn't. Then there's a whole lot of thinking going on and a whole lot of nothing in regards to actual moves being made. Most of you are trying to solve different categories of problems at once. So for instance, in my guy's example they were just talking about, his calendar is full. He just needs more slots, but all of his focus and internal thoughts are around making a new funnel, doing a new content strategy, starting on a new platform, increasing posting frequency. And the reason he focuses on this is because that's what he's good at. That's what he likes to do. He's not good at recruiting and hiring and managing the closer. He's never done that before. And everybody just wants to do what they're good at right now. But that's not conducive to making more money. The constraint is the thing that if you removed right now would directly result in more revenue immediately. Everything else is you procrastinating on the thing that actually matters by doing busywork that feels productive but isn't. This guy has a coaching business in a very specific niche, so he's got a great product. His close rate is 48% on phone calls. As I said earlier, that is an absurdly high close rate. Most people would kill for a 30% close rate, and this dude is sitting at 48%. So the first thing I told him was that his close rate is telling him something pretty important, and it's that his price is too low. If you're closing half of the people who show up to your calls, you have so much room to raise your price, it's not even funny. Like, he was charging $3,000. I told him to go to $5,000 in the month of March and just see what happens. Here's the math on that. If he closed 22 people that month at $3,000, that's $66,000. If he closed even 18 people at $5,000, that accounts for slight decrease in close rate from the price increase, that would be $90,000 instead. So that's $24,000 more in a single month just by charging a higher number. He didn't need more traffic. That's not more content. That's literally just changing a number. That's not even what his main constraint is. His main constraint is availability. He had 5 slots per day, Monday through Friday, because it's just him doing the calls. Like, no weekends, just Monday through Friday. And every single slot was booked. So his calendar is 100% full every single day. Now, here's what most people don't understand about closer capacity. You actually never want a closer to be at 100% capacity. If a closer's at 100%, that's just telling you that you need more closures. I made another video about this on my channel. It's called Calendar and Application Tactics for Maximum Profit, which basically just says that you need high availability variants. So you can go check that out. When it closes at 100%, it means you're leaving money on the table because people are trying to book and there's no availability. People are seeing your content, like they're clicking the link, it's going up the application, they're getting to the calendar, and then they're seeing that the only available time is next Tuesday, 2 PM, what doesn't work for them. It's a very inconvenient time for them, so they leave and you never even know they existed because they just didn't even bother. I told this guy that if he had 10 slots available per day and instead of 5, I guarantee all 10 would be booked. That would immediately double his business overnight. Like, no more traffic, no more content, like just having the slots available. So the action items for this guy were very simple. It's get 2 more closers immediately, open up 12 to 13 slots per day, get somebody working weekends, extend the booking window from 2 days to 3 days out. That's it. That's the entire growth strategy for the next 30 days. Nothing else matters until that is solved. Now, once he does solve that constraint, a new one will appear. That's how this works. It's an infinite loop. So let me walk you through exactly what is going to happen for him, because this is the same progression every single business goes through. So right now he needs more closers, more slots. Once he solves that, one of two things is gonna happen. Either one of the new closers sucks and has a terrible close rate, in which case the constraint is now still finding a better closer, more closers. Or both closers are good, but now only 40% of the slots are being filled because he doesn't have enough traffic to fill all the new availability. So now the constraint shifts to traffic. He needs more calls booked. What does he do now? He starts focusing on getting more traffic when that's the actual issue. So he starts running retargeting ads to everyone who's engaged with his content. That should bump calls booked by like 20 to 30%. Now the closers are getting filled up again to 70%. Great. But now they're at capacity again, so he needs another closer. He gets one, but now there's 3 closers at 70%. He needs even more traffic. So now he increases the content volume and starts running cold traffic ads, not just retargeting. And this goes on forever, like back and forth. Traffic, then closers. Closers, then traffic. Systems, then people. There is always one constraint. And just solve it and a new one appears and then you solve that one. You do it one at a time. This is why it takes time to grow a business. It's not because the strategies are complicated, it's because you have to resolve those constraints one at a time sequentially. And each one takes time to solve. Like, you can't skip ahead. You can't solve constraint number 4 before you solve constraint number 1 because constraint 4 does not exist until 1, 2, and 3 have been successfully resolved. The people who grow fast are the ones who correctly identify which constraint they're on and put 100% of their effort into solving that specific one. The people who stay stuck are the ones who either can't identify the right constraint, or they try to solve all of them at the same time and therefore solve none of them. I understand that if you're a very intelligent person that you like to think multiple steps ahead, but that just does not work here. Yes, you could strategize, but in terms of what you put your actual focus on, you need to do what's immediately in front of you. That's the only way this works. Let's shift to talking about funnels and what happens after this guy does hire more closers. But before we do that, if you want to start an AI marketing agency where we show you what to sell, who to sell it to, how to get clients, and how to fulfill for those clients by using AI, click the first link in the description to watch an explainer video of how the business model in our offer works. Then you can book a call with us to join. That's the first link in the description. go.clientascension.ai. With this guy's funnel, here's what I saw. Nobody knows his results, which is a problem. So he was concerned about there being like a ton of other coaches that does what he does. And I had zero clue that this guy had coached people into like D1 colleges in the MLB and I had no idea until he manually told me this on the call. There was nothing on his Instagram about it, nothing on his YouTube about it, no mention of specific schools or like specific teams, specific students and their transformations. And this is a problem because you can have the most insane results in the world, but if nobody knows about them, they might as well just not even exist at all. You need to be flexing results constantly in every location, all of the time. You've got to be in your video sales letter and your website. They're going to be listed underneath your VSL on the page. They need to be in every single YouTube video you make at the end as part of the pitch where you're showing the information. They need to be pinned on your Instagram. They're going to be in your bio. They need to be what you talk about in your retargeting ads. They need to be in your pre-call scripts. They need to be what your closers mention when they're on the phone. Like everywhere, all the time, constantly. You want to know why I can charge $1,500 for an hour coaching call and people happily pay it? It's because I flex results so aggressively that the perceived value is obvious. I have a case studies playlist on my YouTube channel. Matt Huang, $0 to $20K a month in 3 months. Doby Lynette, $0 to $12K a month in his first month. Chris Burns, $0 to $10K a month in 6 weeks. James Pimble, $0 to $15K a 2 months. I share these constantly. I talk about them in my videos. I reference them in conversations. I put them on my sales pages. I use them in ads. They're literally everywhere. And because of that, by the time somebody gets on a call with us, they already believe we can help them. I don't say it once and then never say it again. I say it all the time, everywhere. If you're not doing this, you're making your sales process 10 times harder than it needs to be. When you have really, really good results, people pay a lot more money, and closing them is way easier. This is the classic case of thinking everybody knows what you know. They don't. Humans have the ability to invoke what's called theory of mind. This is the understanding that other people have beliefs, desires, intentions, and perspectives that are different from your own. Nobody knows your results exist if you do not manually share them. And as a quick little marketing hack, you have to repeat yourself, but you have to repeat that you have those results everywhere all the time until people actually get it and understand it. Another thing this guy was missing was a basic landing page. You need a VSL page, a video sales letter. Like, this is a landing page with a headline, a video, and then a way to book a call underneath it. Like, that's it. It can straight up just be a white background, black text. Doesn't need to be anything complicated. He was doing all of his sales by saying in his content to DM him on Instagram, which is fine because this works for some people, but it doesn't scale, and you have to manually have the sales conversation over and over again, and you need a page that does this for you. How do you structure this? The headline says what you do and who you do it for. We help X achieve Y so that Z. The video is you explaining who you are, who you've helped, how you help them. You go through the results, you explain the process, you address the objections, and then you tell them to click a button below to fill out an application, book a call. This page needs to be the link in your bio on every single platform. Here's why this matters so much, in particular for this guy. He's getting hundreds of people looking at his profile every single day. Like, most of them have no idea he even has a coaching program or service to sell at all. You literally don't even know. They just see his content, follow, and like, that's it. But if they click one link and see a headline that says exactly what he does and then watch a full video that explains the results and testimonials, now they're aware that his product actually exists. And a percentage of those people are going to apply and book a call right there immediately. This cuts out a tremendous amount of manual DM conversations. And I'm not saying stop doing DM selling, obviously keep doing that, but you need this page handling the people who would never DM you but would click a link to watch a video. People buy in different ways. Like, some people want to have a conversation first, other people want to consume information on their own terms and then make a decision. Like, you gotta cater to both. I'm the kind of person, I don't want to talk to you, I want to know everything before I even talk to you at all. People buy different ways. And one more thing in the content site, this is the so framework that will immediately make your calls to action like way more effective. Most of you are saying shit like, if you want to send cold emails, click the link in the description, or if you want to run ads for your business, book a call with me. Like, this shit does not work. Nobody cares about sending cold emails or running ads. They care about sending cold emails or running ads so that they can make more money. The so that is the important part. Like, that's the actual desire for the thing. The thing before the so that is just the mechanism. Nobody buys the mechanism. They buy the outcome and they justify the desire with the mechanism. So your CTAs need to sound like like this: if you're trying to increase your pitching velocity so that you can get into a D1 school or the MLB, click the first link in the description. Or if you want to send cold emails so that you can sign 5 clients a week, click the link below. Always include the 'so that,' like you have to connect the mechanism to the outcome that they actually want. This is just like direct response copywriting 101. Okay, let me give you a quick summary of everything I just covered because there's a lot and I want you to actually implement it. So your business has one constraint at any given time. Find it, solve that one thing, then a new one will appear. Then you solve that one thing, then you repeat this forever and you stop trying to solve 5 things Close rate is astronomically high, 48%. Your price is almost certainly too low. Raise it and track what happens. If your calendar is at 100% capacity, you need more closers and more availability. You can't book more calls than you have slots for. If nobody knows your results, your results don't exist from a marketing perspective. Put them everywhere constantly. You need a VSL page as the link in your bio on every platform. Headline: video, full results, application, book a call, white background, black text. Done. Use the— so that framework in every CTA, connect the mechanism to the outcome they actually want. And now if you're watching this and thinking, okay, this makes sense, but I don't even have an offer yet, or I don't know how to build a funnel, or I I don't know how to run ads, or I don't know how to fulfill services for clients. That's exactly what we help with inside the AI-assisted agency program. We show you what to sell, who to sell it to, how to acquire clients, and how to use AI to fulfill the client work so you can scale without needing to hire a massive team. So we've had students go from $0 to $20K, $50K, even $100K per month using these exact systems. And all these case studies are recorded on my YouTube channel. So we give you the offers, the AI fulfillment tools, the sales scripts, the client acquisition systems, the funnel templates, direct access to me and 15 expert coaches who all make over $100K a month of their own businesses, plus One-on-one calls, 23 weekly group coaching calls, and a private community of hundreds of agency owners.
