Daniel Fazio worked as a cashier and bagger at Publix and in customer support at Apple, but hated the repetitive work and constant monitoring. He couldn't move around freely or even ask to use the bathroom without permission, which pushed him toward starting his own business instead.

I worked at Publix as a cashier and a bagger. I hated customer service. I worked at Apple. I did customer support for Apple. I hated customer service. I'm really good at customer service. I just did not enjoy being in one single spot, doing the same thing for eight consecutive hours, feeling like I had to ask to go to the bathroom or something like that, and being, like, watched over. I just didn't like that. So even now, to this day, I don't like watch over my employees.
