A brief YouTube conversation (transcript) featuring Dave and Ashley Willis centered on Isaiah 9:6 ("Wonderful Counselor"). Dave reads the verse; Ashley applies the title "wonderful counselor" to married life, urging Christians to seek Jesus first as their counselor rather than turning to other sources. The piece encourages prayerful dependence on Jesus when facing marital challenges.

One of the most famous is from Isaiah 9:6, which is our verse today. It says, for a child is born to us, a son is given to us, the government will rest on his shoulders, and he will be called wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
As it relates to marriage, knowing that Jesus is our wonderful counselor, I mean, I think that so many times in marriage, we're maybe quick to maybe look to other things to help us and slow to go to Jesus, you know, And I don't know why we do that as Christians. You know, there's a lot of. There's T shirts about this, there's memes about this, but it's like, pray first, you know, like, go. Go to the source. Go to the wonderful counselor first. But so many times we don't do that, and we just kind of get lost in whatever we're dealing with. And so I think if anything, we can learn that God is, you know, Jesus is our wonderful counselor, and he's always there for us, and we need to go to him with whatever we're facing.
