A short conversational transcript (YouTube video) in which Dave and Ashley Willis reflect on Amos 9:15 and the theme that God has a plan for each person. They emphasize the idea of being 'firmly planted' in the place God gives, and encourage being fully present even during seasons one wishes to leave.
Amos, chapter nine, verse 15. It says this. I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God. I love that.
It's a beautiful picture of how God has a plan for each of us. And this is a theme throughout Scripture, that God has a plan for us and he wants us to occupy that space that he has given to us. You might be in a season where you think, and I don't want to be here. Maybe you've moved someplace and you're like, I want to get out of here as fast as I can. And we've had some moves like that. We've moved and had been in some spots where we think. Like, man, I don't know if this is for us or I don't think we're going to be here that long. But what we found through the years is even if we're someplace for a short time, that we need to be fully planted while we are there.
