A short conversational excerpt from a YouTube video in which Ashley Willis reads Jude 1:7 (referencing Sodom and Gomorrah) and Dave Willis comments that God’s standards are real, that culture is mocking those standards through sexual immorality and open rebellion, and that while God is patient there will be a future reckoning and judgment.
Chapters
Jude, chapter one, verse seven. It says this. And don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality in every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment.
Yeah, this is a bold and convicting verse, but we've had a lot of just the encouragement verses, and we need those. But I do think it's also important to remember that, like, that God has, he has standards that must be and God will not be mocked. The Bible says, and we live in a culture that is mocking the standards of God through sexual perversion, through brokenness, through outright rebellion, open rebellion, celebration of sin in the face of God. And God is he's slow to anger, and he is so patient, and he wants everybody to come to him. But there will always be a reckoning.
