A short YouTube discussion (Dave & Ashley Willis) that reads Luke 2:4–5 and reflects on Joseph and Mary as a model of a healthy marriage. Speakers highlight the tenderness in Mary and Joseph’s relationship, noting Joseph’s protective decision to not dishonor Mary despite the unexpected pregnancy.
Luke, chapter two, verses four and five. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David's ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. Now, Joseph and Mary were not only the earthly parents of Jesus, but when you look at their story, I believe they're one of the healthiest examples of marriage in the Bible.
There seems to be such a tenderness there because, you know, in the story, we know that the Holy Spirit, you impregnates Mary because this, this son is not from Joseph. It's from, you know, it's God's son, right? And, and we know that Joseph gets this news.
Joseph said, even though she's broken my trust, I'm not going to dishonor her.
