Hello everyone and welcome to Geopolitical Trends. As an analyst, I ask: who was behind the failed attempt coup against Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso? In this video, I'm going to share with you my insights and provide you with my assessments as to why such a failed coup took place to begin with. So let's dive in. One thing is sure, the Western media is staying mum, silent, over the failed coup attempt against Ibrahim— or Burkina Faso's interim leader Ibrahim Traoré, who by the way confirmed the coup attempt according to the local media. So what happened is that Ibrahim Traoré, he's a captain, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, said that those responsible have been identified, but he doesn't want to put them in jail. He prefers to have a dialogue instead of arresting them, basically, which shows character, I will say. So, because if I am to think, he probably wants to move the country forward. So Burkina Faso's interim leader Ibrahim Traoré, you know, has said that he was the target of the coup attempt last week. So, and this is what just coming out now, or sort of, because the media takes its own course. But this coming out from local media here in the West, you don't hear much about it. As a matter of fact, I found the info not from Western media here, so it was in a source in the Middle East. So the question we need to ask is, was this an inside job? Was the coup attempt financed by an outside element, a country, an entity, whatever term you want to use? And if so, who might benefit from such a thing? Very interesting. Ibrahim Traoré confirmed that there are some elements within the military, mainly the army establishment, that wanted to seize power. And he made the announcements in a meeting in the capital Ouagadougou, which was only a few days ago. So, so a few days ago, some rumors also start circulating on the social media suggesting that it was a coup attempt against the government of Ibrahim Traoré. So, so his supporter yesterday all the supporters gathered in the capital to protest against the attempted coup. So, which says a lot that he has the public support. So we all know Ibrahim Traoré became well known following his speech in Moscow when he attended the Russia-Africa Summit, which was held in, if I recall, July 27th and 28th of this month, of course, of this year, of course. Was just last month, month and a half ago or so. And his speech was well received, by the way, because they really liked what he said. And I'm going to quote what he said. The problem is seeing— his quote here— the problem is seeing African heads of state who bring nothing to people who are struggling singing the same song as the imperialists who call us militias. As a result, they end up referring to us as people who do not respect human rights. He went ahead to add, we Africa heads of state must stop acting like marionettes, which is another word for puppets, who dance each time to imperialists' pull on our strings. End of quote. Wow, a lot of powerful words here. So, so putting my geopolitical analyst hat on, I will say that the attempt coup could have or must have something to do when the former colonial power France was asked Burkina Faso to withdraw all of its troops from the country and leave permanently. That's the way I read it. What do you think? So make sure to leave me your answer because I like to read in the comment section. I like to always read your comments.
