Hello everyone and welcome to Geopolitical Trends—where truth matters. There is a major development taking place as I'm talking to you right now through this short clip here. Donald Trump has just stepped back from his earlier threats to launch strikes against Iran's infrastructure and power stations by 8 PM Eastern Standard Time. Yeah, as a result, now Donald Trump states that a bilateral— that's the key— ceasefire lasting 2 weeks will be implemented following reports of Pakistani mediation efforts which aimed at securing a cessation of hostilities. Now, who's leading the negotiations on part of the US is none other than Vice President JD Vance. Who is reportedly assuming now the role of the U.S. mediator in these negotiations. Furthermore, there are some sort of indeed active Pakistani efforts underway to mediate a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iranian side within the next few hours. But now Donald Trump saying, okay, I'm gonna step, step back from my earlier statement. Trump explicitly confirmed that this bilateral ceasefire, lasting 2 weeks, is indeed in effect. I don't know, can you trust Trump? It's up to you to decide. Trump also stated, and I quote, "We have received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and we believe it constitutes a viable basis for negotiations." Trump also emphasized that Iran must agree to the full and immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz in order for the United States to cease its ongoing military strikes on behalf of Israel against Iranians. Consequently, as a result, everyone is now likely awaiting the official Iranian response, because we don't know yet what Iran is going to decide, specifically whether they will indeed agree to a full and immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz so that a ceasefire truce may be established for a duration for just 2 weeks. Then what's after that? What do you think? Will this ceasefire hold? Can the US be trusted? Should Iran trust the US again? And by the way, Donald Trump didn't mention Israel at all. That, that makes you just wonder. So make sure you drop me a comment in the comment section. I would really love to read your feedback about this one. And remember to subscribe to my channel. Thank you.
