How Embarrassing: India Caught Claiming RoboDog as Its Own When in Fact it's a Chinese!

David Oualaalou and Jayant Bhandari discuss Galgotias University in New Delhi presenting a Chinese robot dog as its own invention at an AI summit. The conversation expands into Indian government credibility, corruption, and China-India competition.

Hello everybody and welcome to Geopolitical Trends, where truth matters. Imagine this: flying in 20 heads of state and the CEOs of Google and OpenAI and others to showcase the country's AI so-called prowess, and then getting upstaged by a $1,600 Chinese robot dog, someone slapped a new name on it. And that's exactly what happened in New Delhi a few days ago. So we asked the key question: how embarrassing is this? Are Indians, some of them in the government, inherently scammers? So to answer this question and more, joining us today is my good friend and none other than Jayant Bhandari. Welcome, Jayant.
Thanks very much for having me today, David Oualaalou.
Of course, as always, to those who do not know who Jayant Bhandari is, Jayant is a US-based institutional investor advisor for many, many, many years. He received his Master of Business Administration from Manchester Business School in the UK, and he has written numerous articles on political, economic and cultural issues for the Liberty Magazine, where he is a contributing editor. Please go to the description in the— of the video. I put a full link of the Jayant Bhandari's video— uh, Bhandari's intro, rather. So, all right, where do we start with this? Uh, uh, Galgotia University, a private institution, uh, in India, was booted out from Artificial Intelligence Summit in New Delhi that took place a few days ago after one of its staffers, so-called Professor Neha Singh, told state-run broadcaster DD News that robotic dog Orion was developed by the Center of Excellence at the university. So she displayed a commercially available robotic dog made in China, claiming it was the university's own innovation. So what I'm gonna do, Giant, I'm gonna play a quick clip here, and I'd like to have your, uh, your, your take on it. So, so let's, uh, let me add the clip here, and we'll, we'll take a listen here.
This has been developed by the Centre of Excellence at the Galgotias University. Following backlash, Galgotias University has been instructed to clear its booth on Wednesday at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. The controversy started after the university showcased a robotic dog at the event, claiming that it was created by its Centre of Excellence. Internet users soon pointed out that the machine matched the Unitree GOTO built by a Chinese firm. While speaking to Doordarshan, a representative of the university, Neha Singh, said that the quadruped robot under the name Orion is developed in their campus. Orion, you need to meet Orion, and this has, this has been developed by the Centre of Excellence at the Galgotiyas University. The claim caused major embarrassment as internet users and several media outlets that cover Chinese and Eurasian news slammed the AI exhibit from the Galgotiyas University, calling it a sham. They underlined that the university was showcasing Unitree GOTO, which is a ready-made robotic dog manufactured manufactured by the Chinese firm Unitree Robotics. Basically, the university presented an imported technology as a homegrown product. Later, the university issued a clarification on X stating that the robotic dog had been acquired from Unitree and was being used solely for academic purposes. The institution maintained that it had not claimed to have manufactured the robot, even though statements made by the staff at the event suggested otherwise. Speaking to media persons, Singh provided a bizarre explanation after facing backlash Pardon me, I'm gonna stop it right there.
What's your assessment, uh, Giant? What do you make out of this? I don't know, embarrassment? I don't know, uh, some sort of, uh, uh, claiming something that is not yours.
Well, David, I felt a bit sorry for the woman actually. I mean, the reality of the Indian situation is that everything is a farce, everything is a lie. You— the only way you can rise up in life in that country is by scamming the system and by telling lies. There's no way you can achieve anything in that country without lying and without scamming. And the biggest scammer here is the government of India. The whole AI show was a farce. And in fact, the photograph of a robot with Modi's head on it in the video that you just showed is a true depiction of what's happening. The reality is that, you know, David, I went to a North Korean embassy many years back, and every book in that room was written by Kim Jong-il. And similar situation is happening today in India. It seems that everything, every good thing is done by Modi. All of the AI progress in the world is happening because of Narendra Modi. And this show was a way to convince the Indian masses, particularly the so-called educated middle class people, that Modi— without Modi, nothing would happen in the artificial intelligence race. Modi is the designer, Modi is the programmer, Modi is the database, Modi is behind absolutely everything, the way Kim Jong-il used to be behind North Korean success.
Yeah, but I, I am, I am wondering, Giant, I am wondering in the sense of why will India, or university for that matter, risk its already shattered reputation and credibility? Why would you go thus far and go for something like that?
Well, David, just because this came in the media and got highlighted so badly does not mean that this was anything unusual. There are tens of technology universities, including the IITs of India, are doing research on cow dung and cow urine. Why are we not making fun of those things? India is a big farce today. And this is just one of the aspects of it. All these, virtually all these private universities are scams. This is a way to get free government funding and free government land. And this is a way for many of these people to launder their cash. So, you know, you, you can go layer by layer, and you realize that everything is a farce. And from what I realize, what I understand, David, the Gargotria University did not even care to change the nameplate on the robot. It stayed the Chinese name. That is how fearless they are. That is how prevalent scamming and lying is in that country that you don't even bother changing even the brand of the robot. So nothing unusual. The only funny thing is that a friend of mine wrote to me right away after this video came out telling me that Modi should now give her a senior post because she is such a confident liar. But my response to him is that Modi would never employ her because Modi is very afraid of competent people. Modi has surrounded himself with utterly incompetent people because he is afraid of having competent people around him. So she would be an improvement in competency level in the government of India, but she will not be hired by Modi.
Which, by the way, Jayant, I found out about her that she's a professor of communication, and that's what struck me when she made the argument that 'Well, probably people didn't understand what I was trying to communicate.' Well, if you are a professor of communication, you will have a better understanding how to communicate with the masses. Second thing, she didn't even come forward and said, 'You know what, I made a mistake. We all make mistakes,' or whatever. I know it's, it's erroneous for a so-called professor to lie. That's, to me, it's, uh— and I just found out also, by the way, her link I'm going to show you an image here. Here is what it says: this space doesn't exist on LinkedIn. So it got removed, I'm assuming.
So, so David, you, you, you have to understand that the university was invited by the government of India to showcase its robot. A government of India clearly approved that.
Approved.
The university itself approved it. Neha Singh is just a guinea pig here. She has been blamed for everything when, you know, I think she deserves a minimal amount of blame. The biggest blame goes to the government of India and to the university who made her lie. And then the university was so dishonorable that they fired her right away. Because they wanted to pass on all the humiliation to her rather than to accept the responsibility that they were at flaw, that they were in error there. And neither did the government come forward to say that they made an error by inviting this university. So, you know, these are all cheap people who are passing all the blame on her when they are the fountainhead. Of all the scams and lies.
Well, I, I agree with you on that, Giant, because the government, Modi in this case, will bear the responsibility for it. Yeah, she's the one who carried out whatever she carried out, and now she's trying to sort of, uh, try to remove all the information regarding her. This is why when you look— I looked it up before we came to the show just to make sure, and it was nothing there. So That's where the problem is. I'm gonna play another clip here just to highlight something else, how much this scandal of the AI summit in India, it never ended because it was another issue with another robot. So I'm gonna share the clip here with the community. Just bear with me here, let me add it to the, uh, to the screen here, or upload it here rather. Okay, let's take a look here and take a listen. I'm sorry, it's in Indian language. I don't speak the language, but just for the community to listen, and I'm sure Jayant will explain to us. So let's take a listen here. Apparently, uh, what happened is that, that, that, that robot there, that was from— that's Chinese, and they were able to just shut it down. And he was embarrassed to, uh, to sort of like What's going on right now? What am I supposed to do? I mean, that's to me where the problem is. And this leads me to my next question for you, Jayant. For you as an investor, you've been around the world, you've been around investors, you know how that mindset is. How do you believe where foreign investors now sort of assess or do their investments and so forth in India?— if they go in light of this fiasco?
Well, they are not going to get hugely influenced, unfortunately, David, because the problem is that political correctness in the Western world is such that discussions on this thing will die down very quickly. And as you saw that because of the instructions of Modi, all these top CEOs flew into India to participate in this farce. And they flew in because at the end of the day, 20% of the population lives in that area. And they need data centers in that area, they need some copy and paste work to be done by that area. So unfortunately, bureau, the corporate administrators will pretty much go along with Modi and not highlight the dysfunctionality of India. So unfortunately, this isn't going to make much difference, but only not make much difference from the level that India is currently at, which is that Indian GDP per capita is $3,000 per person, and it isn't going to change anymore. India isn't growing, India is falling apart. But, but people will continue to pay lip service to India.
What will China do to protect its AI production now that this came to light, in your opinion?
Oh, China will do nothing. China is, I think, very happy right now that they have been so well recognized by Indian government, the Gargotria University and Neha Singh. You know, they have been so nicely recognized. So I think this was a fabulous advertisement for the Chinese products. China has nothing to fear from India. India is a horribly dysfunctional country, as you could see how this summit happened. This summit, you know, you just portrayed one aspect of the dysfunctionality of the summit. You might not know that another big farce was that the Indian government won Guinness Book of World Records award for artificial intelligence. When they can't even pronounce artificial intelligence properly. Now, what they won Guinness Book of World Records award was for getting the most signatures on a pledge. So somehow that become— became a big thing for the Indian government. So everything was a farce. When Modi came to the convention hall, people were locked away in rooms and thrown away out of the convention hall. Which meant that literally thousands of people were locked away. People were never allowed to bring in their car keys, water bottles, laptops into the convention hall. Now, how do you operate in a modern environment when you are not allowed to bring in your car keys into the convention hall? The roads outside the convention hall were all blocked off for VIP traffic. So that is how feudal— and you must remember how brutal that country is. So everything is dysfunctional. It actually, you know, one has to start thinking how India manages to run with this kind of corruption and dysfunctionality.
Wow. Yeah. Well, that's to me, it's very, very problematic in a way that how it was portrayed in this manner and in this fashion. Knowing the, the, the competition that exists on the global stage regarding the AI, we all know about the competition that's going between the United States and China. And as a matter of fact, I have it on good authority, especially from briefings in Congress behind closed doors, that the concern in the United States is that China has made a massive progress in the artificial intelligence domain. And for us now, we're trying to figure out— and this is why I'm saying to myself, why will India risk something given where the world is going regarding these aspects? This leads me to ask this question.
Well, David, also remember that the reason Modi does all this thing is not to raise the profile of India in the world. The only reason Modi does all these forces is to get votes from the so-called educated middle-class Indians. That is the only purpose of everything that Modi does. Even when Modi visits foreign countries, what he does is meet Indians there, goes in front of the booby women who dance in front of him. That is only to raise his profile among Indians so that he can get more votes and to become the Kim Jong-il of India, which he actually has become pretty much today.
Well, there are some who counter-argued this particular event has happened by saying, well, we shouldn't judge India. And I'm going to present the arguments, those who are saying we shouldn't judge India because India have some, or has rather, some capacity to get involved in the AI domain. What do you say to those who argue this particular premise?
Well, I mean, remember, India has a population of 1.5 billion people, and it supplies a lot of immigrants to the West. So there is no dispute on the fact that India generates some very smart people, and many of those move to the West. So yes, India has a position there, but so has— is the position of sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America in the world that way. So it is only a function of population, nothing else. What you might want to pay attention is to the fact that Indian IT company stocks have been falling drastically over the last few weeks. They have fallen anything between 15 to 30% in the last one month. Now, well, this has happened because AI is actually now destroying the Indian IT sector, uh, because Indian IT sector was this body shopping sector which was a copy and paste sector of the IT industry. So that is going away very rapidly, and people are very worried about the IT sector of India. Now, here is another big, big problem, uh, David Oualaalou, virtually half of the Indian total exports come from the service sector, which means that if the Indian IT sector gets destroyed, India will have a massive, massive, massive current account deficit. It has a small surplus only on the back of a massive service export surplus and remittances. Now, if these two sectors suffer, Indian currency will face a lot more problems than it is facing right now. Indian currency has fallen by about 5% in US dollar terms, when US dollar itself has fallen about 8 to 10% in the last one year, uh, in comparison to the weighted US index. So Indian currency is in a free fall, uh, or, you know, back of the envelope, about 15% down in the last 12 months or so.
Wow, that's, that's very concerning given where things are headed, especially with the United States as far as the tariffs that Trump imposed or on or placed on, on India and so forth. I'm glad you mentioned earlier about how there are certain aspects into this, that's how it works. But I just want to make this for the record, we are not generalizing that all Indian people are bad. Let me just put that out there just because I want to clear that for, for sure. What I am saying and what I am asking, and the way I do this kind of to bring attention to people, is when I say, are sort of— can we consider Indian inherently scammers? I'm talking, I'm referring to the government here. Whether the people are or not, I don't know. I've never been in India. So should we consider this a logical question, Jayant?
Yeah, well, David, I'm 56 years old, and I have never met an Indian bureaucrat or politician who is not feudally minded, who is not corrupt, and who does not expect a bribe, and who does not expect people to prostrate in front of him. So I can pretty much generalize as a truth that there is no bureaucrat and politician in India who is not corrupt. So unfortunately, the dysfunctionality, corruption is hardwired in the Indian government.
Well, that was exactly why I got this idea of why the government will allow something like this to happen. There is no way something like this will not be without the knowledge of the government. Uh, doesn't the government sort of have to understand who's coming to the country, who's attending the convention, who's going to be speaking up, whatever? And I was shocked, to say the least. So, and the other concern that I wanted to raise with you, Giant, it has to do with now, at least in my country here, we're finding out more and more and more frauds and scams coming out of Indian nationals living in the United States. As a matter of fact, right here in the state of Texas, there is now the city of Frisco. I don't know how many of you will know city of Frisco, and they are now— the people in Frisco, the Texans, are now up in arms regarding the Indian communities that's turning the city into like another Mumbai. And we are very concerned as to where this is going. Why do you think there is this massive rise in fraud and scams by Indian nationals, not only here in the US, in other countries as well?
Well, the core problem of Indians is not its corrupt government. The core problem of Indians is Indians themselves, uh, who are extraordinarily irrational and amoral. And what matters is not the constitutions and the laws and the systems that you have. What matters is the people who run those laws and the systems. And unfortunately, wherever these people will go, because they come from a society which has no concept of morality or rationality, they will inherently corrupt everything wherever they go. Now, you might claim that, hey, The US Constitution works very well. The US law and order situation works very well. That is actually a very erroneous approach. Look at Canada. Some of the most crime-prone places in Canada are actually Indian ghettos, Surrey and Brampton. They are among the most crime-prone places in Canada. And the cultural, the social belief is that Indians are very tolerant. Because the problem is, David, that political correctness makes it very difficult for people to recognize what the truth is and to pass around the truth. But unfortunately, this is baked in the cake, David, that scams and lying and frauds will continue to grow up— go up in India. And just the fact that you have caught so many people doing fraudulent activities does not mean that this will in any way reduce. From what I have seen, Indian bureaucrats have become increasingly more corrupt despite the fact that more and more videos of their corruption keeps coming out. So similar is the case with frauds. They will continue to grow up because no one is going to— you know, you still catch 1 out of 100 frauds and 99 people are very happy about it. So unfortunately, they will continue to go go up. This is baked in the cake.
Yeah, well, you mentioned Canada. I'm very concerned about— I just had a chance to listen to a Hindu in Canada who's calling. He said some something in, in sort of, uh, even if we have to bring in the Indian Army to Canada. I think the guy is, is mentally disturbed or something because he doesn't understand that bringing a military, that means an invasion. I don't think so. The guy is right.
Yeah, I know who you're talking about. This is some Banerjee who heads a Hindu organization in Canada. And he, at one point of time, sent me a threat as well that he was going to sue me in Canada for bringing a bad name to Indians. And I said, go ahead. I don't live in India anymore and you can sue as much as you want in Canada. There's still the rule of law in this country. It is still not India majority country yet. So do what you want. But unfortunately, this is very true, and it does not matter which kind of people they are, whether they are Hindus or Sikhs or Muslims. They just play different sides of the same coin. They are similarly dysfunctional, and they bring the same degraded ways of behavior in, in the Western society.
Actually, the one you mentioned, I have the clip here. We're going to share it with the community. We'll take a listen to this. Take a listen, guys.
There he is. Aren't you the guy that says white nationalism is going to fix the world? I— no, I say Hindu nationalism is going to fix the planet. So if we actually elect a Hindu nationalist government, they're going to bring the army, the military of India, into this country, track down the wanted criminals, Sikhs and Muslims, in Bram— in Bangladesh, whatever, handcuff them, and send them back to India for criminal prosecution. That's how we intend to save you white people. Now, the white man doesn't need you to save them. What? No, we don't.
Wow, wow, wow, wow. What do you make of this, Giant?
Yeah, well, this is absolutely crazy, um, but this is what he really believes in, and this is what the, the leaders from the Indian subcontinent are making Indians living in the West believe in it as well. So unfortunately, this is very true. And I think this is why I really want— I would really suggest to the Western countries to put a huge stop on immigration.
I mean, you're right about this. I sent a note to the governor regarding the H-1B visas, and I sort of put it on the record. I say shame on you, Governor, for allowing the Indian lobbyists to push for this H-1 visa, because I'm seeing what's going on here. So when you see a clip like I just played, when you have a Hindu fanatic— because to me that looks like a fanatic guy, you don't talk like that if you are not a fanatic guy. So, and once again, let me just put this for the record, I am not generalizing all Indian nationals. Let me just put this on the—
well, such, such proud Indians deserve to be proud of India, but they should also return back to India. There's no reason for such Hindu nationalists to be living in Canada, the US. They should as well go to India. And I think this is a question everyone should start asking. Why don't you return back if India is such a great place?
That's logical one. So, and I blame also my government here especially with Donald Trump, with some of his advisors. Because I found out one of the lawyers got $1.2 million from Indian government to push and lobby on behalf of the Indian government right here in the U.S. That lawyer should have his license revoked, should be trialed, sort of investigated. And if he breaks the law or broke the law, then it should be dealt with accordingly. So that's the way I see it. Let's move on to talk about BRICS. I need to talk about BRICS, if I may, uh, uh, Jayant. Just came to mind, given the changes that's going on right now, uh, in, in the Middle East, especially with Iran and the US and so forth. And there are no concerns about how this is going to play out for organizations like BRICS. No, but with India inside BRICS, which I've always— I've said this so many years ago— you can't trust India inside BRICS or in any other. And when I say India, I'm referring to the government here. So how do you see it playing out moving forward?
Well, uh, David, I have always claimed that India is a non-entity. It should not be a part of any organization because India is it's indecisive, it has a very corrupt way of thinking, and whatever it touches will get destroyed because it will create this cycle of indecisiveness on everything. And that is why BRICS— the existence of India in BRICS is, is, is, is, is a negative aspect. And as a result, all these organizations— Quad, BRICS, et cetera, et cetera, will become useless with time. And that is where I see it going forward. Now, the only two countries that matter in BRICS, in my view, are Russia and China. And they managed to get around their work done anyway. So, uh, from— in my view, BRICS is a non-entity. Even the currency system, the head office, they are all about Chinese and Russians anyway. So it doesn't really matter what kind of tag you apply on it, it is still China and Russia.
Yeah, uh, I believe, uh, I, I don't know if you're aware of this, Jayant, or not, uh, Donald Trump is going to be visiting China soon, within a few weeks, you know. Uh, how do you assess that? How do you see that visit? What will be the purpose of it in your opinion?
Well, I have a long belief that you, the US and China have to learn to live together. I understand that both have issues with each other. I understand that both see each other as competitors, but they have to learn to live with each other because they are so completely dependent on each other. And moreover, whenever anyone tells me that India can in any way or form take over anything to do with China, he has no clue about India. He does not understand that India cannot even make a ballpoint pen by itself. It has no manufacturing industry. Its manufacturing industry continues to get, get devastated by China. So the end result is that India, China, and the US have to learn to live together and cooperate. Uh, the tariffs that, uh, Trump has applied on China basically means that Chinese goods which must be imported in the US which cannot be manufactured either in India or elsewhere in the world must be imported, and, and which means that American consumers will pay a heavy price for it, means that eventually these tariffs will go away. So, uh, my view is that this is an important meeting. They will sort things out. Uh, I am actually shocked that it has taken America and China so long to clean up their problems.
So, and with this, there are those who argue, Jayant, that the US will always come to the aid of India despite what we see with Trump. Is there any truth to this argument?
Well, no, because, you know, at the end of the day, while the US is the world's policeman, US still has to do what is good for Americans. And, uh, US decides to ignore things to do with India when it's convenient for it, and it should be. And I, I think that's the right way of doing things. So, uh, what is there to be, uh, to prove, you know, when there was a war with, uh, Pakistan or war with China, uh, America mostly abstained, or, uh, at best created a situation where the war came to an end early. But in terms of actually providing real help to India, it won't and it shouldn't, but also because India is not a loyal partner. So if America provides help today, there's no guarantee that India will provide help tomorrow. In fact, I remember, David, that in the early '90s when America was asking its planes to be refueled in India, Indian government declined to let, let those be refueled. So India just chooses based on what is expedient to it at any point of time rather than being friends or being honorable or being trustworthy. So why should anyone trust India?
Yeah, just it crossed my mind, I wanted to ask you about this while I'm thinking about it. Uh, one other aspect that happened, which by the way, just for the community, I will be talking in more detail about it tomorrow, but since we have Jayant here I'm gonna ask him about the SWAT competition that took place in Dubai, by which the Chinese female SWAT humiliated the Indian men team because India didn't send a female team. If you, if you take this outcome, uh, Jayant, and apply it to the geopolitical landscape between China and India, what does it tell you?
Well, David Oualaalou, India is an extraordinarily dysfunctional country. And, you know, unless you have lived in that country for a few months, worked in that country, dealt with the government bureaucrats, you wouldn't realize how utterly stupid and dysfunctional they are. I have been to government offices where they don't know how to start a laptop. They don't understand a USB device. They are so completely incompetent and dysfunctional. And that is what surprises me, that India still continues as a single country despite being so brittle. Now, you know, the, the AI showed you how dysfunctional any of their organization is. They can't organize anything. We saw with the India-Pakistan war that India, Indian armed forces were completely dysfunctional at that time. They lost many of their planes within the first few hours. And David, you know, I have traveled a lot in China over the last two decades. And I tell you this thing, that very likely the subway staff, the subway security staff of China is probably better trained than the Indian armed forces. So unfortunately, that is the situation of India. And I'm— I wasn't really surprised at all that the female Chinese managed to beat Indian men in the tournament.
Is this means that to go back to this AI domain that we are talking about here, is this means that China— that India wanted to compete with China, but it's not willing to change to do that? So how does it— How does it expect to compete if it's not willing to change?
Well, India never competes. India cannot compete with China. Anyone who uses India and China in the same sentence does not know any of these two countries. Uh, these are not comparable countries. Uh, you can use China and America in the same sentence, but you simply cannot use India and China in the same sentence. India is a wretched, poor, thoroughly corrupt country, whereas China is a rapidly emerging star which manufactures some of the world-class equipment today. Yesterday, a friend told me that I somehow told her many decades back that China— Chinese produce low-quality stuff. I don't remember ever saying that, but the reality is, David, that today China produces some of the top range of high-quality, high-technology stuff. There's no way India can ever compete with China. India can only be a back office, a back office in the sense that China can send some of its low-range, low-level stuff to India and start bringing in maids and laborers from India to China for working because China needs some, some human hands. So that is the only competencies India can provide. So forget about competing with China. Absolutely forget about competing with China in AI. There's no way India can ever get in a minuscule way towards in that direction.
I, I couldn't agree more with your assertion, Jayant. I mean, to those— I've, I've, I've read some statements by some other individuals who argue, no, no, no, India can do it within the next 5 or 10 days. It will become, uh, 10, 10 years, not 10 days, I'm sorry. 10 years will become the hub of the world when it comes down to AI. And my counterargument, my counterargument was they don't even have the basic infrastructure to support the AI domain.
Well, so David, one way, great yardstick to understand this is to look at the maid scene in Hong Kong and Singapore. Uh, you get, they get maids from Burma, Myanmar, uh Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, but you will hardly ever see an Indian-made. And the reason is that Indians are not even skilled and trained to keep things clean. They can't even clean a glass of— a glass properly. There will be thumbprints all over it. And that is the situation of 90, 95, 98% of Indians. People in the higher positions are even worse in many ways because they can't do any of these things, plus they can't do what they are supposed to be doing. So, uh, you know, David, this is my, my, my hypothesis on psychology, and my hypothesis is that intelligent people, uh, have a major handicap. They don't understand the, the, the, the, the the, the problems with stupidity. And they somehow think that people who are unskilled or untrained or not intelligent can somehow become skilled and intelligent within a few years. This isn't going to happen in a century. It's not going to happen in a millennium. This takes a really, really long time. So India has lost out in the race. And in fact, my biggest fear right now is, as I explained to you earlier, India will start facing a huge currency crisis as time passes by. But moreover, AI will replace 95, 98, or close to 100% of Indian population in everything. So what are the— in what is India going to produce going forward?
Yeah, that's legitimate. That's, that's, that's spot on, Jayant, because I, I will assume that the Indian government will be thinking long term, but it doesn't strike me like they will have this kind of visionary—
Modi thinks about the next elections. That's all and the only thing he cares about. There is not even that 4-year cycle of thinking that democracies face. India has the next state election, the next municipal election in mind, and Modi is forever canvassing.
Yeah, yeah. Wow, that's, that's disturbing. So what will become of India the next 5, let's say 5 years?
So David Oualaalou, one person, a British person, last month wrote on, on Facebook saying that India should investigate the Indian names in the Epstein files. Now India allowed him to enter the country, but now they are refusing to let him leave the India is becoming an extraordinarily scary place, not just because they are corrupt and dysfunctional, but because they are thoroughly stupid. So India is becoming a very dangerous place. India is falling apart wherever I see. The corruption is now— the corruption is multi-compounding rapidly. People who do businesses in India tell me that they now give away all their profits and bribes. So that is— so, you know, India will fall apart. India will go back to basically animal kingdom. I think India will disintegrate. Its economy will suffer very badly, and people will start living hand to mouth. Although I have to say, 80% of Indians already live hand to mouth anyway.
I, uh, I, I know someone whose, uh, company wants to invest some serious amount of money in India for projects. We're talking over billions of billion dollars here. So, and my advice was, don't do it. Don't do it. You guys not gonna see the return on your investments in India. Nothing against India, don't do it.
So, so, David, I have done a lot of that stuff. I have started Indian subsidiaries of two European companies, and I have consulted with American corporations on investing in India. Americans simply fail to understand the nature of India. They cannot understand how corrupt India is. They cannot— they think that Indians can eventually be trained. They, they, they think that somehow India will emerge out of its problems. Now, they could— if all, if all they had seen was what was India like 5, 10, 15 years back, they would have understood that India is refusing to change, India is getting worse. But they don't have that understanding of the history. So they continue to be bullish about that country when that country continues to disintegrate and worsen. But, but, you know, at the end of the day, David Oualaalou, most people pay lip service to India. At the end of the day, they understand that they can't make a profit, they can't pay the kind of bribes Indian politicians and bureaucrats expect. So eventually most pull out.
Yeah, well, I did mention last time, uh, when you and I— as a matter of fact, I mentioned it twice, uh, as far as will it be better for India to sort of carve out in a sense of ethnicities live on their own, per se, independent?
Wouldn't that make sense? Nothing works in that country, David. The if you break up that country into smaller parts, they will never be able to sort out border problems between all those different parts. And they will forever be in wars with each other. So right now, you only have problems between India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, and China, because India, Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan refuse to sort out their border problems. But If you have 200 countries in that region, there will be a forever war happening. So unfortunately, there is no solution to stupidity, David Oualaalou. You need rational people to sort out your problems. Uh, but, and so, so this is the way it is and it will continue to get worse. And anyone who thinks that India can be put on the right track does not understand India. India will continue to get worse and In what way, I cannot exactly predict, but it will continue to get worse.
Wow, that's very interesting, Giants. I want to give you a last word, my friend, before I let you go. Just your overall about this fiasco of this robot dog and Modi's allowing, allowing this kind of stuff to happen. What's going to be next for India in this domain?
Well, everything India Modi does is to impress the so-called educated middle-class Indians. India clearly has a huge problem with the export of services. This will continue to worsen, and Indian currency is falling like a rock right now. I need to get, get my own cash out of that country as soon as I can because it's falling rapidly. And Indian government is the only government that charges tax on interest earned in that country in nominal terms, which means that I'm losing something like 45-50% of my interest to the government on the money I have. Modi is the next Kim Jong-il. He is going to really close the country up. He is going to show himself as the god of artificial intelligence, and Indians will continue to be fooled into it. And unfortunately, by doing dance and drama, you cannot improve anything because you only distract yourself from addressing the real problem. And the real problem is the unskilled nature of the Indian society, the massive amount of corruption, the lack of values in that society. And no one is trying to correct those things. Everyone is trying to worsen those things. So India will continue to worsen, David. There's no, there's no way out of that situation.
Well, as the saying goes in America, you can lead a horse to a lake and make him drink. If they don't want to change, then it just— I just wish they keep the problems that I'm seeing right now here in my state, in Texas, with this fraud and massive scams by Indian nationals. It's worrisome to me. It's major worrisome. I am starting to think in terms of what will become of my state here within the next decade if this continues. So anyway, I want to thank you, my friend, for really carving out time for us here to share your knowledge with the community. It's always a treat to have you, and I look forward to seeing you again.
Thank you very much for the opportunity, David.
