This content was created by David Oualaalou. This content was uploaded by David Oualaalou. This is a YouTube livestream titled "九份 (Jiufen): From Qing Dynasty thru European/Japanese Colonialism to Modern Era (Part 13)!!" (posted 2024-10-18). The clip is a live walking-tour style stream hosted by David Oualaalou in Jiufen (outside Taipei) with interactions from a vendor identified as "Flower" and viewer comments; David narrates local scenery and tea tasting, relates historical notes (Qin/Qing dynasty, Japanese and European presence, link to Spirited Away), compares Taiwan to mainland China, and offers geopolitical observations and travel logistics (visa, goods, gear). The metadata (YouTube, date, title) and live-chat interaction frame the piece as travel commentary mixed with political commentary and community Q&A.

Jiufen location right here outside Taipei in Taiwan. That's— so I wanted to just do this for you here. First of all, I'm going to switch the screen for you to see the scenery here. Sorry. Here we go, guys. And I'm going to be walking you through, uh, history here because it is an old, old part of town that has a lot of history. That goes way back to the Qin Dynasty. So let's take a walk, guys. I want to show you just this scene here, guys, so you can see. And I'm going to walk you through the main streets, very, very tiny one where you see— and by the way, guys, do me a favor, give me a thumbs up if you can hear me clearly. I would really appreciate it. Alright, let's walk through the street here. So I'm going to be sharing some history with you based on my understanding of this part of the world. Like I said, you have to go back to the Qin Dynasty. That's how far back this location here in Taiwan. We all know the history of that Taiwan has been occupied by foreign powers from way back. The Europeans were here, after that were the Japanese. And this is one of the key things I wanted to highlight to you is the presence of Japanese. Oh, thank you very much. Let me put my reading glasses so I can see because it's getting darker here. So thank you very much for the thumbs up that the mic is working. Well, the reason the mic is working because I went ahead, guys, and got a brand new DJI mic down here that is very, very high quality, and I really, really like it. So as I said, I noticed the presence of a lot of Japanese here. Well, because of course, as you know, Taiwan has been occupied by the Japanese from way back, and there's a lot, a lot of history that goes back into this. So I want to show you one more scenery here. I don't know if you guys can see it. Sorry for the light. Look at the outside there. So, so I just wanted to share with you. So, so I'm gonna keep walking down here. Just, uh, one thing I wanted to let you know, I am the wind. I wasn't planning on this live stream from here. It just happened to come across this particular location here. And of course, if any of you are familiar with Spirited Away, you all remember, right? Does anybody know? Give me thumbs up if you know what I'm talking about. You all watch the Spirited Away, okay? Because in the movie itself was modeled. And of course, uh, if you know about the What was it? Now I forgot the name. The, uh, shamanism, I believe, when they came and took the girl to the bigger spirit, I say. So anyway, that is the history of this part of, uh, very, very interesting. When I found out, I did not know. Of course, you hear about the Spirited Away movie and so, but you didn't know that it was modeled after this particular location right here as is. And that is why I decided to do a livestream for you here. I'm gonna do another livestream. I have to do 2 more for you guys before I leave this location. So now I know how things are. I already noticed some comments, especially from someone by the screen name 99. I will appreciate if you can be respectful for the community. It's not about me, but Be respectful. I know how sensitive this issue of Taiwan is, and I will address it. I am not going to shy away from it. It's just I'm keeping it for due time. So this here, when I got here, this is completely different from what I expected. Okay, let me just, uh, put this on the record just for you guys to know. The city is different. I got a different vibe to it, got a different feel to it, but I wanted to come here to see with my own eyes. One thing I noticed that the majority here wanted to be associated with the West. It's just the, the nature of the people here. The, uh, it's not as conservative as you may think. So, and of course, the idea of we all understand the dynamics, the geopolitical dynamics of this part of the world. And I, once again, I intend to address that. For now, I wanted to share with you the history of this part of town here. So look at the— there are a lot of people here. So this is normal here at nighttime. That's why I wanted to come here and share the this video for you to see. Next one, as I mentioned, I'm gonna raise this up a little bit because I don't want people's faces on the screen if they don't feel comfortable enough. Uh, uh, one tier is being polite, I would say. Okay, that's, that's indeed, uh, the thing is I wanted to do 3 lives, uh, a live stream, that is And the reason, because I wasn't counting on this one here. So when I came across and learned about it, I said, no, the community needs to know because this is not about tourism, it's about highlighting the history of this part of Taiwan. Excuse me. Go ahead. No, go ahead, man. No, no worries. I tapped on her shoulder. She— no worries. No worries. So as you notice, this long line here, guys, if you notice, the reason you see this long line, because there is, uh, you have to go down some steps and it will be a nice view of the, of the water, the island, the mountains, and so forth. It's a long line, so I'm not gonna stand here. I'm just gonna keep— it's what I showed you earlier, and that's all it is. So look at this one here. I'm gonna share this Look at this one here, guys. Yeah, so it's very, very pretty but also holds some historical sense into how this city has evolved. Like I mentioned, this one goes as far back— this is some, uh, is that ducks, I believe, or chicken, either or. So, uh, as far as I, uh, when I read, looked up a little a little bit the information here, it goes as far back as the Qin Dynasty. So it tells me how far back, uh, it used to be about, uh, it wasn't, it wasn't populated, of course. And even in some historical record, it's mentioning that there were only about like 9 families or so living in the area. So, so of course it evolved like every other city, but this very different from mainland. I, I can tell you this based on as soon as I landed here, I could just feel things are very, very, very different. No offense to Taiwanese, no offense to whatever, uh, that— and you know me, I am not here to be telling you what you want to hear. Whomever might not like my comments, but, but that's too bad. It's to me, it's facts. So like I mentioned earlier, Taiwan issue is very, very sensitive, and I am going to address it from a geopolitical perspective down the road. For now, let's just focus on these aspects of it. So the history of the— from the Qing Dynasty has evolved over time. And this is why, while I'm thinking about it, the idea of when I put the comment for you guys about getting the book of the, the Art of War by Sun Tzu, it wasn't about the English translation. It's because the English translation might not capture the true content of what the book is all about. I'm aware of it because the book is used at West Point Military Academy, so I'm aware of that one. So So what I was asking for is if there are the two versions, the Chinese versions and the English version in the same book, and it doesn't exist. So far I didn't find any. It was somebody was kind enough to send me a copy electronically, and thank you, Lawrence, for that. I truly appreciate you. And there's also someone else posted a copy for me. On Twitter or X. So I'm very, very grateful, Benny P. So thank you very much for that. And once again, the one thing that I need you to understand, you know, the difference between here and the mainland, it's completely different. So a lot, a lot of young generation here wants to be associated with the West. They are behaving in a way Western— society is the culture and so pop culture and so forth. I mean, we don't blame them. In other words, we don't point fingers at it. It's just you can tell the stark difference between the mainland and Taiwan. So of course, and even one of you asked if I have to have a visa here. No, I don't. American citizens do not need to have a visa. And And second, I have my visa for the mainland, and that will be holding here as well if I ever need it. But so far they never asked for that. And I filled up a regular paper electronically, my name, my passport names, and so forth. And they cleared me right away, and they said, "Welcome," and that was it. So that is where the difference is. You can notice a lot of people here, a lot of— this one? No, I already ate here. I just tried this one earlier. I came here earlier, guys, and I tried some of this squid, I believe. So they made me some here, so I tried it. It was very good. Thank you very much. Thank you. So, uh, but I intend to— I know someone put a comment about me not eating squid in front of you. I will do it. I will do it when I get back. When I go to the street market tomorrow. I intend to do it tomorrow, so, or even when I go back to Shanghai. So whatever the case may be, I will do it for you one way or another. So, so I am gonna be here for another, for another 2 or 3 days, and this is my final stop, guys. I know a lot of people were thinking I'm heading out to Beijing. Beijing is going to be a standalone trip. When I come back here next time. Hi! See, someone just waving here. Uh, yeah, see, he's giving thumbs up. So, so, and, uh, what is that one? Salmon fish. Yeah, so there is some, some samples here, guys. So I'm gonna try it a little bit. Is it spicy? Yeah, spicy and original. Mm, that's very good. Thank you very much. Yeah, I tried this one here, guys. There's a little sample here. So what they do is they have samples all over the place. Thank you very much, appreciate it. Oh, this is the tea, the Chinese tea.
Taiwan oolong tea.
What is the difference between Different.
This—
let me— can I show this one here? Can I show your face here?
Yeah, it's okay.
Because I like permission. So this is the lady. What's your name?
Flower.
Flower. Okay, her name is Flower. She's the one preparing this tea.
This one is from Alishan. Alishan is famous mountain in Taiwan.
Okay, so the herbs are— yeah, I'll show you guys the herbs. Here's the one she's filtering, that one.
This one, the purple one, and the taste like a green tea. Oolong tea is good. So low caffeine, 2%. So you can sleep, no worry.
Oh, that tastes different.
Yeah. And Taiwan, almost oolong tea everywhere, oolong tea, but different mountain, different tea, different taste. And the Alisha oolong tea is a little fermented. And this one, stronger oolong, is fermented and the rose tea.
Oh, I see.
Different. And this one, the taste is stronger. If you like stronger tea, maybe you like this.
Oh, oh, this stronger. This is milk.
In Taiwan, oolong milk tea.
Oh, you add milk. That's like what they do in Pakistan. They do tea with milk in Pakistan.
Yeah, you can mix milk. You can make oolong milk tea. Also you can You can cold brew like this. Coffee smell good, but cold brew no aroma.
Very different from the tea mainland. When I had tea, I drank tea back in mainland. It's lighter. It's not as strong as this one, but you do have a lighter one.
The last one is our specialty because this Taiwan only one in our store.
Only?
Only in Chen Yifan.
Only is here?
Yeah, only here.
So it's a local.
And this one is very healthy. Ginseng oolong tea.
No, thank you very much. I just wanted to try it. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. Thank you for explaining this to me so I understand about tea. Thanks again. Speaking of tea, guys, I am thinking of when I get closer to leaving buying some tea, but I do not know if the US immigration will take that away. Because you have to declare even the tea leaves or something like that. So I remember them one time. I was in Thailand when I flew back. And I honestly, I really honestly forgot that I had a piece of fruit in my bag. And they brought the dog and the dog start, you know, barking loud. And they're saying, "Oh, Mr. O, what do you have in your bag?" I said, "I don't have anything." and I completely forgot that I had a piece of fruit from Thailand. I said, can you open it? So I did and found the fruit and said, we're gonna have to take this one here, Mr. Oualaalou. I said, you know what, my apologies, I truly did not know that I had the piece of fruit there. So, but by no means take it. So that's why I'm debating about this, uh, tea, whether to do it or not. I'm gonna call back home and find out whether it's okay to do that. So once again, I am still walking through the main— this is famous here. A lot, a lot of people, locals and foreigners, come down here. The one thing that I am surprised at is the presence of Japanese people. Once again, to those who do not know the history of this part of of China as a whole is that's been, uh, the Japanese have been here before. Anyone know the history of this one? I don't need to remind you of this, but one thing that I was surprised about is one thing that I was— Hi! She's saying hi to me, that lady. She sells. One thing that I was surprised about is that even the Europeans were here before. And of course, when you you go way back to the Qin Dynasty, that's where this area has evolved over time. So, so I just want to share this with you. Did you guys notice? Look at all this, uh, what you call them, the lantern light they are on. This is some candy shops here with all different flavor stuff and all that. It's commercial stuff and of course it's touristy see, but the elevation is a little bit high. I want to show you this dress here, guys. Check this out. Look at this one. This is traditional dress, so that's what it is. I don't know what it is, it doesn't say a name, but I can tell it's a traditional, uh, see that one? So that is the part of this. So this is why I wanted to do this, highlight this one for you guys. And, uh, it's a long street, so I'm gonna try to get a location that overlooks the water and the part of the mountains. There is a hiking trail. I don't intend to do it tomorrow. I don't have my hiking boots. Uh, I only have like the flat shoes here that I brought with me, but that's about it because I am not here for— I'm here to, uh, facts finding per se, to find out things that I need to see with my own eyes to report it to you because you deserve to know. There is a lot, a lot of misconceptions. This is touristy, uh, group tourism with some people here. So, so there's a lot of information that a lot of people I do not know, and especially when you're considering what Western media is doing by disclosing lies. I'm going to say it straightforward. So even here, you hear the Western media reporting to Taiwan differently than what, for example, China reports to Taiwan. It is known here that it is a province of China, Taiwan's province of China. Of course, the others said, no, it is a sort of an independent state. Well, that is not the fact. I am right here, so I can see. There is no independence here. What are we talking about? It's that the Benjamin decided to give them sort of self-governance, per se, and that's about it. There is no— so media just— because one thing you need to understand is the nature of this— what's the word I'm looking for? Of this tension regarding this particular geographical area. And it is my belief when I address the geopolitical aspect, I'm gonna be detailing a few things because one thing you need to understand for the changes that China has been experiencing in the last 3 or almost, yeah, 3 decades or so is that even you look at in all aspects of technology, they are about some survey just came out about last year, if I'm not mistaken. I forgot the name. I will get you, uh, all that information when I get back home and undo very, very, uh, specific topic for you. And what the survey disclosed is that, uh, you know, out of like 40, uh, companies or so, 34 out of those are Chinese that deals with, with technology, AI, and and so forth. And I saw this like in the, uh, in the Canton Fair when I was there. I took a look and I saw the technology aspects of it. It was incredible. Uh, one thing also before I forget, you will notice as soon as you land at the airport and you step outside, you know what it is, guys, is you hear a lot of noise of vehicles and motorbikes.
Yes.
I was just surprised by the level of noise. It's because they are not electric here, so there's still cars using combustion engines. And that's one thing that caught my attention when I stepped outside the airport. I was like, whoa, I get used to the quietness of cars passing by, and right as soon as I dropped my luggage at the— I'm staying at Airbnb, by the way, guys, not a hotel. Uh, and, and stepped outside to take a walk to see how things are. It became clear to me this is very, very, very different. Uh, like I said, I noticed, of course, Starbucks is everywhere, the same in on mainland. Starbucks are everywhere. As a matter of fact, if, if it weren't If it weren't for the, the, the China, Starbucks would have shut down completely. This might surprise some. It's because I think how many Starbucks exist here is what kept the company afloat. So that is where the difference here. So there are a lot of elderly people just sitting here enjoying the evening quietly. And, uh, I am coming to an end of the street right here, so let me turn this over quickly here and show you one more time, uh, the, the entrance to this place right here. Oh, you've been drinking ginseng tea for many, many moons? Yeah. So there are a lot of traffic here. Uh, let me step out to— I'm gonna go see if I can find an overview to show you. Of course, it's getting dark out and we might not be able to see, but there are a lot of foreigners here. So it's very, very busy area, guys. Guys, look at that. It's just the way it is. And because it's touristy area here—
hello!
Let me see if I can find you guys the, uh, I'm trying to locate the place here. Uh, yeah, I found one here, but I don't know if you guys can see anything. So I'm gonna go up here and just share this view with you before I sign off, and I'll answer a few questions for you guys. You might not see much here, guys, because it's dark, of course, but here is the— is the view from, uh, Speyer, where people— a lot of people sit here, take pictures, and just, uh Uh, this is the top of the mountains right there. That's the light over there. And that's basically it. So you can see a town— this, uh, a view of the city from this high altitude. So, and people just sitting here basically. And so I'm gonna go back down here and just answer a question or two for you guys. Once again, just to remind you guys I will be doing two more livestreams for you before I leave the area. I will be doing one from the Central Market, near the area where I'm staying, and I will be doing one for you from downtown Taipei. Uh, there's not much there, that's why I took that short video for the tower. I didn't want to disclose that because I want you to be part of the conversation. Wow, a lot of traffic here. Okay, a lot of traffic, a lot of, a lot of foreigners here. So you can see a lot of people from different walks of life, but one thing that is clear here, guys, is that there is a lot of Japanese presence here. So, and, and again, it falls back to the history of of this, uh, once— if you go all the way back to the Qin Dynasty, then by the Japanese, then by the Europeans. So this area went through so many, uh, uh, look at this view here, guys. I want to show you this. I'm not going down the stairs here, I just want to show you from this side here. Look at that, look at that one here, guys. And it's nice view, uh Very, very nice. And I wanted to share this with you because it's not about just high-rising buildings and so forth, but the fact remains for me, and I speak for myself, the fact remains that there is a different feeling here than mainland. You know, you can interpret that any way you want. For me, it's just very different. So there is more liveliness in mainland than it is here. Of course, there are those who argue, well, there's a lot of freedom here and so forth. Well, what freedom are we talking about? Yeah, they're the same freedom that was back, you know, the one exception that I could tell the difference was the, as far as accessing the internet. Well, you access the internet through different means on mainland than you do over here. Now, if that is how you categorize freedom, well, I gotta, you got a problem with that. So I don't categorize it that way because to me This issue of— it's like what we have back home, guys, when we talk about the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Where are they? Where are they when we have, for example, our healthcare system that is a mess? You know, pharmaceutical is in bed with the government. The FDA is corrupted by the pharmaceutical to approve drugs that's going to kill people. You know, where is this life and where is this liberty when you have now even prison? When I used to teach the Texas government, did you guys know in my state, Texas, was spending about $12 billion on privatizing the prison system? Why the heck we privatizing the prison system? So, and you can tell— did you know you can tell about a country through its justice system. That is one of the things that I need you guys to understand. Then the pursuit of happiness. Well, which will be this pursuit of happiness when you got the government wasting our tax dollars and so forth? I'm not complaining. I am presenting facts here, guys. That's all it is. You know, there are those who will think I'm being this negative, and I'm not. And you know me, I don't— I don't deal with negative energy. But I don't shy away from speaking the truth because truth needs to be told. You know, when I see, for example, in mainland, when I walk and see how things are taken care of, well, how is that happening? It's not happening on its own. There is some policy. There is some strategy. There is some sort of procedure by which all this happening for the sake of the people. Because that's what matters. The government should exist to serve the people, not the other way around. So when I express this, you know, become labeled as the anti-government— no, I'm not, I am not. But I will not shy away from disclosing what's right because it's important. It's very, very, very important to understand. And this is one of the things I intend to do by expanding on this. I am thinking a lot now about what kind of procedure moving forward, because it's almost feeling more and more like it's gonna become my mission in life now to just move around the world to raise awareness. That is the key to all this, because people are uninformed. They don't know, and they need to understand what the reality is, because we got one world. Okay? We got one world. And if we can push, we, the people, can push with logical arguments, with common sense, and convince the masses to sort of support the initiatives, we can make a difference. I always believed you never underestimate your contribution, no matter at what level you do it. Your contribution matters. That's how important that is. So, and for you to think in terms of, well, no, this can't be happening— no, it can. It can, because that's, that's how it's supposed to be. All right, let me see if there is a question from you guys before I sign off here, and I will be doing another live stream for you Tomorrow, and we just go from there. Okay? So if you have a question, if you will be kind and just type it, I'm going to read it quickly here. The Taiwanese homeless could be conscripted. Speaking of that, I'm glad you mentioned that one. Did you guys know in Taiwan has the largest reservists? Because everybody has to be— sign up for the military, male, not female. The females, if they want, that's what I found out. So it's kind of whatever the reason for that. The only thing is that for Taiwan, its naval assets are very, very, very weak. There is no way it can sustain anything. And this is why we are trying to push on our end in Washington by pushing the conversation regarding— I'm going to go the other side, so I'm going to cross the street here. Here because there are people there. I don't want to show their faces there. We are pushing. I know that the Biden administration signed about $520 million worth of weapons to be sold. Do you know also, since 2019, Taiwan has not received the F-16 that they were promised. So where is all this going? And we all know, and we all— the importance of this. Is that a week and a half ago, the Chinese president, President Xi Jinping, mentioned that, and I quote here, "We are not afraid of a war." It's because there is a conversation in Washington, and I will disclose this to you when I'll talk about the geopolitical aspects of this, because you can be in Taiwan and not talk about these aspects of— because that's what's at the heart of the tensions here between the US and China. And we know what we are doing by creating more of these tensions. All right, let me see one more question. Taiwan F-15 have been delayed. Yeah, I'm not surprised at that. Maybe not too many homeless. Uh, I, I couldn't read that, but if you have a question, guys, just put Q so I know it's a question so I can read it. Dr. O, go check out the main train station. There gets a lot of homeless people. I didn't go there yet, so, and I will because I still have 2 more days, and, and, you know, No, I won't shy away. You guys remember I did that video for you guys at 3 AM in the morning.
You go!
Yeah, I got up at 3 in the morning, and you know what? When I got up, I said to myself, I'm gonna step outside and do a short video for my community. And the reason for that, the reason for that is I can't just show you the glamorous stuff. So I want you to see at 3 AM in the morning, what's going on? And there were people working. And one thing that I felt very comfortable is that I felt safe at 3 o'clock in the morning. Nobody bothered me because these people were working. They were taking care of their businesses. So, and again, I'm not— I did see some here, but again, I am not jumping to conclusions, guys. Even kids here. I heard that it's just a little kid screaming his or her lungs out. I never heard that in the mainland. It's because the discipline issue or whatever. Again, it's very different. For an outsider, if you spend time on mainland and you come over here, you'll see the difference right away. If you are observant and you will know what to look for. And that is exactly what I noticed. So, uh, let me, uh, Dr. O, have you seen any Chinese military drills, fighter jets and missiles overhead in Taiwan? No, I did not. And also, I am not near the area where those maneuvers will take place. I have not seen that. Uh, 5G Britain, I can't read that, you went off so quick. Yeah, yeah. And the fighter jets and all this will be in coordination with the US, but I didn't see any here, so, so I don't know why they don't have—
hi.
So yeah, I didn't see any military maneuvering that's going on here. So once again, I'm just walking quick. There is one famous, uh, I don't even know what they call this here, guys. And by the way, I noticed the writing. The writing here is slightly different than the one in mainland China. So look at this. I'm going to share it with you. Excuse me. Excuse me. Look at, guys, this writing here. And I was told that it is slightly different from the mainland because, of course, they write Cantonese. There's somebody saying hi. Yes, how are you? Where are you from? Taiwan. Here's a gentleman here, very nice, just saying hi. I don't know him, he doesn't know me, and it's just very nice. Thank you very much for saying hi, appreciate it. Bye-bye. Thanks, you too. She said have a good day. So there are nice people around. So I don't want to put your face on the camera here, so Yeah, it's just, uh, out of respect for— Hello, how are you? Hey, not bad, how are you? Not bad, thank you. They are very, very kind, they're very polite, at least for me. So far our experience, guys, no one ever, be it here or so far, no one has been rude to me. Chinese, what is it? Huh, what is it? Oolong tea. Is that local?
Yes, it's from Taiwan.
Okay, that's another tea. It's almost similar to what I tried earlier, guys, but I think this is different. Is it strong or light? I'm trying it. It's very nice. I'm gonna check to see if they will allow me to bring tea back home. So thank you very much. Yeah, I've been drinking tea here because I tell you, it's, uh, it's— I like green tea. I don't do black tea. So black tea is too strong for me and it bothers my, my tongue some. Uh, oh, this must be a group. There is a group here, tourism. So I'm gonna pass this one here. Ah, let me see one more question, guys, if there is one. Uh, oh, oh, black tea. Yeah, I like green. So far that's the one I like. Uh, Doc, how do you find the price of, uh, basic goods? Very affordable here. Not here, meaning mainland. This one here is slightly certain things different, but not much, not a lot. But in mainland, uh, and what I like the most in mainland is that I use Alipay. Alipay goes everywhere. Here you can't. You either have to use cash or use credit card. Yeah, go ahead. Uh, and that I found a little frustrating because I don't want to have cash on me because I don't need it. And Alipay was always very, very convenient, but it doesn't work here, so I end up using, uh, yeah. I'm going to step right here just to show you something. This is a bar. I stopped by earlier, not for me, I don't drink, I don't drink. But you can see here, it's very, very dark. See, this is the outside. So, and that's it. So, uh, it's very, very different. So, but prices are reasonable. Like I mentioned to you, when I got on a high-speed train, it was about $20, $20 or $30. It was some idiot, and I'm going to use the term idiot, who put a comment that was disrespectful. So as far as me not guessing right the price of BYD, so I will say to that person Be kind, be respectful, because I will let you express your opinion. If you go in that route, I'll just take you out. Simple as that. It's because I personally will not tolerate that nonsense, and I will not allow it in our community. So we've come so far, guys, and we're not going to allow any, any one that can spread this kind of toxic emotions and so forth. Wanak na laudaw. Anyway, character hook, nicer but all those. Okay, let me see. The other day someone mentioned to me that the Taiwanese dialect comes from Fujian Province. I am not sure. All I know, the majority here in Taiwan, they do Cantonese. You know, you still can hear right here in Taiwan, you still can say thank you in Chinese, in Mandarin, but majority are Cantonese spoken between here and Hong Kong. That's what I noticed, the two locations. So the Mandarin, even the writing, when I asked about it, it looks slightly different, and I don't speak the language So I just asked, so I can confirm that conclusively. So, all right, let me take one more question, guys, before I sign off here. Let me turn this one here. Here we go. I'll just take one more question if you have one here. And before I leave— okay, the Chinese island of Taiwan was always Chinese. Well, it's a history. You know, that is the thing. There is the fact, you know, all this hype about the independence and sovereignty, it's nonsense. You know, you look at the— go back to the Qing Dynasty, and that's where you realize where the history is of the park. So when someone says something else, it just doesn't make any sense. What's up, guys? So that is the difference. That I see. So a lot of people will disagree with that, but hey, they are entitled to their opinion. So let me see one more question if there is one here. All right. Doc, did you see that Taiwan's representative say Taiwanese people are ready to fight China? No. How are they going to fight China for? It's ridiculous. You know, I'm here and it's not a laughable matter. But how are they going to fight China? I mean, you look at infrastructure here, it's not where it needs to be. They have a lot of work that needs to be done in this part of the country, you know. And I don't understand where that argument is coming from. So yeah, if I am yet to look for someone, which I will do tomorrow or after tomorrow when I talk about geopolitics, I'm going to ask I ask some people, Taiwanese, if they will be willing to talk and I'll ask the question. So simple as that. Don't shy away. If they don't like to talk, they'll tell me, "No, we don't want to answer," or, "We disagree with you." And I respect their opinions. But as far as something like Taiwan is going to fight China, it's ridiculous. Very, very, very ridiculous. Okay. One last question and I'm going to sign off here, guys. Dr. Cantonese, Taiwan speaks Mandarin and Fujianese. Yeah, I— it's mixed. I heard people saying thank you to me in Mandarin, so that's just normal sometimes. So people in Taiwan are from Fujian, Fujian Province. Yes. Okay, in one word, they are disillusioned. I, I don't know. I heard the, the, uh, some, some locations have the reference is mainly from the mainland is referred to as Province of China. Here is different, some, not all, but so that's the— that's so far what I noticed. So I'm gonna step outside this market here. And that's it. This is just people buying some stuff here, guys. Sorry. Yeah, just people buying some stuff here, something that is popular here. So same thing here. Uh, I, I thought about laptop laptop, but the problem with the laptop here, if it breaks down, whatever, I won't be able to fix it because it has to be from here. So what I bought was a really good mic. That's the one I'm using here. It's very, very incredible, a professional one. So, and that's all. I'm, uh, I want to— DJI, they have good products, by the way, guys, and that's what I like. So, all right, guys, I am going to sign off. I, uh, look forward to seeing you tomorrow. I'll do another live for you. And in the meantime, uh, I welcome your feedback, your comments. Please hit that like button, I will really appreciate, and subscribe if you have not done so. As always, remember, geopolitics impacts your daily life in more ways than one. Till next time, guys, bye-bye.
