I'm standing next to Dave Jennings and now he's an intricate part of our new enterprise as we take it worldwide. And you really, really got to get to know Dave to make this staggeringly important thing happen.
The phone calls, 50 to 60 a day, 200 odd emails a day, one man band, you just can't do that.
Being a business owner is a job, it's common across industries. If you had to leave for three months, could the business survive? And my answer was no. And therefore all I had was, you know, I was self employed as opposed to, you know, having a business.
It's all ad hoc. I think a lot of businesses hopefully are a bit like me. We make it up as we go.
You need to fix it, but you need systems, you need something to replace you so you can step away. Because if you can't step away then you've got a job, you don't have a business.
You see those traits of the successful and those who have the challenges and it comes back to systems in the business. Which is why I did the course.
Systemology has given me the confidence to be able to outsource things and get back into content creation. The course made it really easy to actually do the processes instead of like, oh no, that's scary.
It was simple, nice, clear steps, it's easy to follow and you don't have to be a Rhodes scholar to get there.
And not just a one time solution, but a solution to solve the problem perpetually.
I've probably tried every project management that's available through Google. Most of them are far too complex.
I didn't really consider getting someone else to write the processes like I thought I had to. So it's given me hope to know that we're going to be able to run it as a business, but also being able to structure it properly.
I really have that in depth knowledge now and the tool to grow and systemise the business in a very sort of methodical way.
There's a way I can actually step back and not become the bottleneck in my business. I can actually make my business run. Without me, the value is just ongoing to the point that I couldn't put a value. It's probably going to save my sanity and maybe my marriage and family as well.
You'll come out the other side a better business person and with a better business, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.
So someone considering, yeah, to me it's a no brainer, but then again I'm biased because I'm doing it.
