Dr. Simon runs Rebel Med in Seattle with a philosophy centered on knowing patients deeply and solving health problems in-house rather than sending them to multiple specialists. He combines conventional tools like prescriptions and labs with naturopathic care that addresses spirituality and mental well-being alongside physical health.

So my philosophy of practicing at Rebel Med is one that, you know, is trying to shift a narrative about our healthcare system that speaks to more what people are looking for. And they want, you know, that old style doctor that does a little bit of everything right. They want to know a doctor knows them well enough. And so one of the things that helps me practice that way is I like to get to know my patients. And part of that aspect is just being in the community and knowing what's going on in Seattle and Ballard, what's going on in the news. And I know that these things affect my patients and so it affects their mental health and their physical health. So the way I practice is basically I have the ability to prescribe medicines, order labs, write referrals, but I like to use a lot of stuff if I can solve it in house. Because patients don't always like being sent all around town. Go to this specialist here and this specialist here. We've really tried to embody that sense of community by embracing multiple practitioners in our office that specialize in various skills. We can also do these other aspects of care that bring them to that next level above and beyond the normal traditional insurance based medicine. And we can take them up to that level that they're really seeking deep down and that helps support their identity and their spirituality and their mental health. And that's what's great about being a naturopathic physician. I get to treat all those things.
