This is a YouTube video titled "October newsletter" created in October 2024 featuring Dr. Corey Goldberg delivering a monologue-style update. In the video, Dr. Goldberg discusses recent professional activities including a phenol peel course for plastic surgeons, upcoming patient promotions, a locum visit to Sault Ste. Marie, and his involvement with the Weizmann Institute in Israel. The content is a personal and professional newsletter update rather than a conversation.
Hi, I'm Corey Goldberg and I want to welcome you to our October newsletter. I am recording this from Vancouver, Canada, where we just finished running a phenol peel course for plastic surgeons. I was really honored to teach beside my colleagues, Dr. David Whiteman from Atlanta and my mentor and friend in phenol peels, Dr. Richard Ben Simone, who practiced in Portland, Oregon and has now retired into being an educator and trainer. The course went really well. We had 12 plastic surgeons enrolled and I was thrilled to share my experience in phenol peels, which is now over 14 years with my colleagues. For October, we're going to be offering a promotion for phenol peels for patients looking for facial rejuvenation that think a phenol peel might be appropriate for them. We're happy to waive our usual consultation fee and I can see you and discuss whether it's appropriate for your care. Romel peels are really good for facial rejuvenation to reverse sun damage and tighten skin, but they are not really appropriate for acne scars, so we don't do it for those indications. In addition, I would like to say that in October I'm going to be visiting Sault Ste. Marie. I'm going to be up for the week of October 7th, and during that week I'll be able to see some cosmetic patients at Laser Advantage, our colleague clinic up in Sault Ste. Marie. I'll also be doing the locum at the hospital there and doing some community service and helping out at the hospital for emergency treatments. And the last thing I want to talk about is the Weizmann Institute in Israel. As you may know, I'm involved in Weizmann Canada, which helps promote awareness and fundraising for the Weizmann Institute. Just in the past few weeks, once again, the Weizmann Institute in Israel has been ranked in the top 10 global research facilities. I'm really proud to support the efforts at that center. I personally did a summer science research project there in 1992, just after finishing high school. That program, called the Bessie F. Lawrence Summer Science Program, is still running now in fact is accepting applications from students in Canada who are graduating high school who would be interested in doing research next summer in Chobot, Israel at the Weizmann Institute. If you're interested, please feel free to message me directly. I'd be happy to talk about that and we'll be putting a link of where to go to to find more information about that summer science program. And so I want to wish you all a very happy Fall. Happy October. Happy Halloween and I look forward to speaking to you again in November.
