This is a YouTube video titled "What is blepharoplasty?" featuring Dr. Cory Goldberg explaining the details of eyelid surgery, including the procedures for upper and lower eyelids, anesthesia options, duration, and recovery time. The content is educational and focuses on cosmetic surgery information.
Eyelid surgery is otherwise known as blepharoplasty and that can be done on the upper or the lower or both. Upper eyelid surgery involves removing extra skin and muscle from the upper eyelids, which may be hanging down. Lower eyelid surgery involves removing some extra skin and usually some extra fat, which is pushing forward or bulging, and forming bags under the eyes. This kind of surgery takes anywhere between one and two hours and is generally very well tolerated with a short recovery time. Upper eyelid surgery, in fact, can be done under a local anesthetic, whereas the lower eyelid, or the combination of upper and lower together is usually done under a general anesthetic or with sedation and probably takes about five days to recover from.
