There we go. All right, Sherry, just so— just if you wouldn't mind, just tell me your name.
Okay, my name is Sherry.
And your age?
I'm 69.
That's incredible. That's amazing. So tell me, what was life like before you came in to have your treatment here at Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedics?
So I was having so much pain in my hip, I could hardly walk. It was, it was a struggle just to do most everyday things. I had to quit teaching yoga. I've been teaching for almost 20— well, now 20 years. And so I had to give up all my yoga classes. And so it was a struggle. And the doctor I went to said he wanted to do a total hip on me, and I didn't want to do that.
And so what finally triggered you to come in and meet me and our medical staff?
So, um, there's a— one of the doctors I work for, functional medicine doctor, um, our orthomolecular lady had told me about you because she said, oh my gosh, there's this integrative orthopedic guy in Wichita Falls. I'm like, really? And that was just at one of our meetings. And then when I found out my diagnosis, I texted her and got your number. And so we came here.
Yeah, fantastic. And when, when you came in, we talked about doing, um, we talked about doing stem cell, we talked about doing pretty extensive regenerative procedures for your hip, right?
Um, what were—
what kind of concerns did you have prior to our procedures?
I really didn't have any concerns. I was just ready to get something done. I was ready to have it fixed without surgery.
Okay, fantastic. And what was the procedure like for you?
So it was pretty pain-free. I mean, under anesthesia was fine, but afterwards, lots and lots of pain. So going that night was a lot of pain, but, you know, it got better over the next week or so, and after 2 weeks, I was able to walk without a cane. So And then just got better from there, just kept progressively getting better.
And how much downtime did you have after a procedure?
Um, as far as—
Just when did you get back to your activities?
Um, probably took a few days. I mean, I just had cane, but I could walk around.
And when did you go back to work?
I went back to work a day later. Wow.
Okay.
I took one day off.
All right, so tell me what life is like now.
Life is great. I can teach my yoga classes again. I can walk normal. I don't walk funny because before I was walking kind of weird and I just knew I was throwing my whole body out of line by the way I was walking. But yeah, I can walk normal. I can play with the grandkids, go to their games.
What else can you do that you weren't able to do before we met?
Well, just everything physical. All the physical stuff, working out with my trainer, just everything.
That's incredible.
So my whole life has changed. It's totally different. So much better. Yes.
So what would you tell somebody who's considering coming here to work with me at Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedics?
I would say go for it. It is so worth it, especially if you don't want surgery. And surgery is just— I just don't want to have metal in my body. I don't want to have rejection. And I know with hips, You have a lot of problems with the ball coming out of the socket. I've had a friend that had that, and I've talked to doctors who say that happens a lot. It is. It's pretty common. So, I did not want that.
Well, and tell me anything else that you want to say. Anything else that you want to say about this process, about the way that we do it, about your recovery?
The process was great. The staff here is wonderful. I love all the people that work here. They are amazing. You did a great job. You're very Reassuring, very competent. I just love it here. I would recommend this to anybody that wanted to come here anytime.
Thank you very much. All right, I appreciate that. Okay, now, Sherry, just if you don't mind standing up and just give us like— show us what you can do. Like, I'm gonna back it up.
Like, do you want like a— do you wanna—
I don't know, do some kind of cool yoga thing.
Don't hurt yourself.
Okay.
Oh, I don't hurt myself. I mean, you can do like a— like I can do a warrior. Is that what you're talking about?
Warrior? Sure.
It's like Warrior 2 here. Um, like I can do a balance if you want me to show balance.
Yeah.
And move around. This room's kind of small. Balance, like dancer's pose.
Amazing. Yes.
With that left hip back. Yes, that's fine. And then, you know, tree pose, whatever. So it's like I can do it all. So nice. So.
Thank you so much.
Certainly.
