Dr. Joshua John-Ram Schacter explains how PRP preps an injury before stem cell therapy. Pre-treating with platelet-rich plasma makes implanted stem cells deposit more accurately and work harder, so he uses PRP first to boost the whole procedure's effectiveness.

PRP will actually stimulate those stem cells to deposit.
If you're going to use PRP primarily, there's some good places to use it. But one of the coolest things that I find with PRP is that it can actually enhance our treatment when we use stem cell. So when we're going to go in there and we're going to implant stem cells, if we pre treat with prp, the conventional wisdom is that that PRP will actually stimulate those stem cells to deposit more accurately in areas of injury. We can actually do that using our regenerative techniques. And so that's one of my techniques, is I actually use PRP first, even in a more arthritic joint, because it makes stem cells more active.
