A short excerpt from a YouTube interview "Getting Active Again: David's Story Part 3" in which David describes how physical pain limited his ability to perform everyday tasks (mowing, yard work, sitting) and to care for his elderly parents—his father had a stroke a few years earlier—making lifting and caregiving duties difficult and frustrating.
And then just things like mowing the yard and, you know, yard work and just whatever.
What else were you not able to do that kind of made you upset?
Just anything that physical. But one of the things that I'm doing now, my folks are both in their 80s. I help to care for them. And so lifting, you know, my dad had a stroke a couple years ago. Lifting and those kind of things was painful to me. So that was aggravating that I couldn't do what my intentions were to do for them. And then just things like mowing the yard and, you know, yard work and just whatever. Sitting in a chair was miserable.
And sleep, folks, sleep is important. When we do our metabolic optimization programs. I mean, sleep is so much of our health. And so if you're not able to get a restful night's sleep, it impacts more than just your knee. I mean, it impacts your mind. You're foggy, it impacts your ability to exercise, it impacts your mood, it impacts your hormone levels. You know, it just damages your overall health.
