This is somebody who is so special. This is Joyce. And I'm just getting in the shot because she's incredible. She's a beautiful, wonderful person who has been my patient for, oh, gosh, I.
Want to say 10 years at least. Possibly at least a decade. Yeah.
And so she's come from. With me from traditional orthopedics to what we're doing right now. We're going to talk a little bit about it because she's just done incredibly well. All right, Ms. Joyce, you take it away. So give me your full name.
Joyce Ramo.
Perfect. And if you are comfortable, give me your age with no fibbing.
Okay. I'm going to be 77 in two weeks.
Unbelievable. You're so incredible. Great. So tell me, what did we work on most recently with you here at Pinnacle? Okay.
Most recently you worked on my trochanter, which I don't know if everyone's going to understand what that is. My left hip.
And tell me what had happened. What was life like before we did our treatment?
Over the years, I've had pain and everyone I go to see says it's sciatica. And all I ever got was injections. So nothing ever got any better. And I kind of thought it wasn't sciatica and the pain would get so bad I couldn't even sit. So most of my time was lying down in bed and not being able to work up my computer.
So I came here because there are some innovative treatments here, and I trust Dr. Schachter, known him for years. So I came here and got some relief.
That's fantastic. And by injections, you know. What types of injections did you have before?
I presume they were steroids. And.
They always thought I had an inflamed bursa sac. And that's what it felt like to me. But the last injection didn't work, so that was a couple of years ago.
Yeah.
So I just went on with it.
What finally triggered you to come in and get this taken care of? Because we've taken care of you for a couple of other things as well, but this has been a problem for you for years. What finally triggered this?
I just didn't want to put up with it anymore.
The traditional medicine I knew was not going to find and solve this problem.
Yeah, yeah. What? And so we did bone marrow aspirate, concentrating on your hip. So we did stem cell on your hip. And we also did some PRP injections. Right. What types of concerns did you have before the procedure?
Just mostly. Would it work? That's all. Would it work?
Always a question, right? Yeah, always a question. I think we. I think we put that one to bed here.
Right.
What was the procedure like?
I mean, it was tolerable. I'm not going to say it was the prp. I'm not going to say it was pain free.
Because Dr. Schachter had to go in and inject quite a few spots to deaden them. So, I mean, that wasn't pleasant, but I got through it. And after that, it wasn't bad at all. And then I chose anesthesia. Yeah.
Yeah. So we were able to make you sleepy while we did your procedure. And how was that?
It was nice. Kind of like colonoscopy sleepy. So you don't. You're not really under.
And what type of downtime did you have after the big procedure?
I didn't have any downtime. I just went back to my normal activities.
That's fantastic. When did you go back? Like, did you go back the same day? The next day?
The next day, I guess, yeah.
Wow. Okay. And so what's your life like now, Ms. Joyce?
Well, my life is a lot better.
Almost totally pain free.
I have horses, so I go out, I feed them every day, twice a day. I take care of everything out there, which I was doing before, but pain. So now, yeah, it's much better.
And so what. What can you specifically do that you weren't able to do in the past?
Well, I can sit at my computer now.
I don't know if that's a positive.
I like to be on my computer. Yeah.
I don't know. I just like to do a lot of things on my computer. I wasn't able to do that before. I could maybe do it for, yeah, maybe half an hour if I was lucky, and then just have to get up and leave it. So that's one big improvement in my life.
That's great. And so what would you tell someone who's considering coming here to work with me, work with Pinnacle Integrative Orthopaedics?
I would tell them to come get a consultation.
You know, when you get a little older, like in your 70s, you don't really want an operation, which I certainly did not. So this was a great alternative for me. And the staff here is excellent.
Everyone treats you with respect and consideration. So I. I appreciate that a lot.
Thank you. And do you have anything else that you want to say? Anything that you're excited about with people, Pinnacle, Anything that you're.
Well, I'm always coming here to see what's new and innovative, and I have used some of their other procedures. I always called it the wrong thing, but it's insculpt. Right. I've used in sculpt, and I've seen amazing results with that cord of floor.
I haven't tried the. I know. I just call it the brain thing.
The exomine.
Exo Mine.
Yeah.
But that will be next for me.
Fantastic. Ms. Joyce, thank you so much. You're incredible. I, I, I love taking care of you. And I, I want to give you a hug because you're just one of my favorites.
You're sweet.
And you dressed up so beautifully today.
All right.
