A YouTube video by Dr. Joshua John-Ram Schacter arguing that bioidentical hormones—particularly estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—can extend health span and potentially lifespan by improving musculoskeletal health. He emphasizes estrogen’s role in bone formation, reducing bone turnover, decreasing ligament stiffness, and improving joint function, claiming bioidentical estrogen is the best bone-support medication.

It's bioidentical estrogen, and it's something that you already made yourself.
So when we look at the issue of health span versus lifespan, you know, how much is five extra years? How much is one minute of life worth to you? I mean, when it's that last minute, what would you give to be able to live another one? And if we can actually give people five years on top of their lifespan, I think that is absolutely incredible. Just from naturally occurring hormones that we just don't need to run out of just because the body wears out, we can replace these, and they're essential. You know, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone all are very essential. I look at it from the musculoskeletal sort of perspective. But the cool thing about the musculoskeletal perspective, the orthopedic perspective, is that that's our health span right there. Our joints and muscles, how our tissues interact and function is one of the basic building blocks of a good health span. And what can hormones really do for us is the question. You know, people are like, well, you know, am I just going to feel better? Well, there's receptors, there's estrogen receptors in your tissues. They make your bones stronger. It makes your tissues more compliant, so your ligaments get less stiff, so your joints have less stiffness. Estrogen helps with forming bone and reducing bone turnover. So if we talk about the very best bone support medication, it's not Fosamax, it's bioidentical estrogen. And it's something that you already made yourself.
