This is a YouTube video titled "Mark's Minutes - The Diabesity Solution" created in February 2012 featuring Ask AI Mark delivering a monologue about the diabetes epidemic in America. He discusses the need to decentralize healthcare and promote self-care as a scalable, accessible solution to prevent, treat, and reverse diabetes, encouraging a movement called "Take Back Our Health" that involves individuals, communities, and institutions.
We need a solution for this epidemic of diabetes. This problem that's affecting one in two Americans, that the government, that healthcare institutions, the corporations and society is really not solving. We need a solution and we need to not wait for someone to fix it for us. We need to decentralize healthcare. We need to decentralize Self-care, we need to take back our health. And there is a solution available. It's one that's accessible, it's scalable, and it's available to everyone, and it prevents, treats, and reverses diabetes at a fraction of the cost of what we're paying now. My book, the Blood Sugar Solution, is intended to provide a solution for individuals, for communities, and for nations. And it's going to require significant change at all levels, but each of us has the power to transform this problem. In addition to curing diabetes on an individual level, we need to create a conversation, a movement. I call it Take Back Our Health. I want to share with you this idea of how we can join this movement together so we can get healthy together. It starts with the individual, but it moves into families, into communities, into workplaces, into schools, and faith-based organizations. and it filters through up to governments and corporations. We need to learn how to take back our health. We have to do it together. You see, most healthcare is top down, hospital physician centric. We need to turn healthcare upside down. We need to decentralize healthcare. We need to decentralize it and call it self-care. And we can actually create a movement and a conversation to get healthy together as individuals, as communities, and as a nation.
