This is a YouTube video titled "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly Side of The Internet" containing a monologue by Kendall Roy from March 15, 2020. The speaker discusses the potential of global communication to solve major issues like climate change, education, and equality, while cautioning about misinformation on the internet and urging critical evaluation of online content.
Communication channels like this, right? I think this is the first time in human history that we're all connected. Done correctly, as one species communicating collectively. We can end climate change? Yes. We can change the food system? Yes. We can educate everybody. We can finally have equality across the board. We can further science. And we can come together as a less competitive society and working together to collaborate for everybody's good. Sounds good. And therefore have better mental health and enjoyable lives for the first time ever in the history of the human species. And to do that we need to? To do that, what we need to do is be a lot more discerning about the stuff we take as gospel. that we read, that we see in the internet, and realize that for right now, for this moment in time, nobody's regulating it, nobody's saying whether it's truthful or false, so don't believe 99.9% of it until you can actually go and do the research to figure, use internet to search for a store, use internet to search for a product. Do not get your news off the internet.
