Advocating for your Health with Integrative Methods during these tumultuous times.

Dr. Nicole Cain (integrative medicine clinician) speaks in a YouTube video about the challenges of advocating for integrative approaches during the COVID-19 pandemic, including perceived censorship and professional risks. She describes shifting from private practice to consulting, sharing free educational resources and a desire to empower people to research treatments and work collaboratively with clinicians. The talk emphasizes hope in younger advocates, a wish for less polarization in healthcare, and invites viewers to connect via her social platforms and website.

There's been a lot going on, right? And as an integrated medicine trained clinician, it's been really hard to watch. I was explaining this to somebody recently about how it can feel like I'm standing at the edge of a giant cliff and all of these people are lining up and they're just jumping because they don't know what else to do. And I'm standing here and thinking, there's another way. You don't have to jump. You don't have to do this. And the really tricky thing is that there's a lot of oversight and opinions about what can be said and what can't be said and what constitutes appropriate education and what doesn't. And it's really tricky, and it can be really discouraging. And so sometimes I want to get on here and I want to share my thoughts and my feelings, my ideas, and the things that I've been doing with you. But we live in this culture where there are always consequences to what you say. And so you have to be really sure that you mean what you say and that it's okay if it doesn't ever get deleted. And so when the COVID 19 pandemic came out, we have all of this history about how we can help support people when there's viruses or when there's a bacterial infection. There's all these wonderful integrative tools that we can use. And the FTC was silencing people and we weren't allowed to talk about it. And then, you know, it's good to be able to really be thoughtful about the information we're putting out. But that was really difficult. And it's also difficult, too, because in this world, being an integrative mental health specialist, there are so many things I want you to know. And saying those things, it can be controversial and it can just be really unpopular. And that's not what bothers me most. But what bothers me most is that I want to give you the information that I got. I want to give you the information that changed my life. I want to give you the information that's changed the life of so many people that I know. Amazing, brilliant, resourceful, resilient human beings that were willing to be put a comma at the end of their sentence, who were willing to try a different paradigm, who were willing to not accept that the answer they'd been given was the only answer. And I want to share that with you. And so what I've been doing is I've been shifting away from private practice and shifting more into Consulting. And you've probably seen that there's tons of free content that's coming out where I've been talking about my story, I've been sharing resources that I give to my clients, that I've been providing tons of education. And I want to do so much more for you. And so that's what you're going to see me doing on here is I want to be real with you, I want to be authentic, I want to share with you that my heart is to serve. It's to change lives, it's to change the landscape in this world where people are just doing what they're told. And I come from a family culture where you just go to your standard doctor, you take your medication and you trust your doctor and you don't question it. And I want you to think for yourselves and I want you to get the information and I want you to talk with your doctor, I want you to research, I don't want you to believe anything I say, but to do a deeper dive and find out what's right for you. And so when I think about this climate and I think about this culture, I think it could be really easy to get discouraged and to be despairing. And what gives me a lot of hope is that we have a younger generation of thinkers that are coming up and you guys are our future. And I admire that you don't just accept what you've been told, that you guys dig and that you guys are voting and that you guys are advocating. And I love seeing these grassroots movements and you guys are what gives me hope. You guys are what I believe will change the landscape of our future. And I would love to see that we have a swing more towards integrative medicine. I would love to see that we can have conversations with a comma. I would love to see a world where it's less polarized, us versus them, but rather how can we meet and work together to create solutions that are sustainable for everybody. And so as I get up in the morning and I see what's happening in the news, there is so much negativity and I try to be mindful about not doom scrolling. And every day I try to think about in what way do I feel stuck, in what way do I feel silenced, in what way do I feel that I am called to make an impact and how can I do that? And so that's what I do here and that's my heart and that's my passion. I'm an anxiety freedom rebel and I want to help you to turn the page in your story of anxiety and whatever that means. And I want to be here to support you every single step of the way. And sometimes what I say may be outside of the box. And I would encourage you research it. Don't believe what I say. Don't believe what your MD says, don't believe what your therapist say or what Dr. Google says. Really do the research for yourself. And let's begin to start changing the landscape of what is normal, what is alternative, what is integrative, what is standard of care. And let's do this together. It's been a great honor to have served all of the clients that I've had the opportunity to work with, to engage with you on social media platforms, to meet with you in person before COVID happened. And I am just beyond honored. And so I want to thank you for watching this video. And I wanted to tell you that I'm making a commitment that I'm going to be here, here for you every step of the way, in whatever way I can. And so let us know. Let my team of amazing warriors know how we can best serve you. And thank you so much. And to learn more about what we have going on, all of our free resources, check out our Facebook page at Dr. Nicole Caine. I have a YouTube channel. It's also R.
