I'm getting on my first international flight tomorrow in over a decade, and this is a huge accomplishment for me because if you know my story, you know that one of my biggest phobias for many, many years was a fear of flying. And today I want to show you how I transformed from total terror on flights to being able to get on an international flight to go on vacation. I'm Dr. Nicole Cain. I'm the founder of the Holistic Wellness Collective, where you can learn to be your own wellness expert. So definitely check out the link in the bio to learn more. My first favorite hack it comes to flying is to not focus so much on the flight itself, but project yourself into something you're looking forward to when you arrive. Otherwise, if you're thinking about the flight the entire time, your nervous system gets into a state trying to protect you from the perceived scariness or danger of that flight. But if you start thinking about when you land and when you get there and what you're excited about, your nervous system will go into the state of being relieved and happy and excited. So when you get on a plane, think about what you're going to do when you land. Your breath has the power to calm your autonomic nervous system. So when you bring your panic pack on your flight, which you can learn about in some of my other videos, make sure that you include a straw. And if you start noticing yourself getting stressed or worried or you feel like you're short of breath, just simply breathe through the straw. The third is always remember to pack your herbs. My herbal tincture has kava hops, valerian passion flower, lavender, rosemary, and Melissa. See you on the other side of the pond.
