Imagine your brain is a complex network of roads and bridges. Every time you learn something new, do something new, experience something new, you're laying down new neural pathways, AKA new roads or bridges. This is called neuroplasticity. And your brain is able to grow and change throughout your entire life. And that's why you can still learn new things, even if it takes a little bit more effort than it did when you were younger. There are holistic strategies that you can get at the health food store that can actually work really well too. And that's what we're going to talk about today. There's a protein in your brain that's called brain derived neurotrophic factor. This protein helps with memory and learning and neuroplasticity. Have you heard of lion's mane? This is one of my favorite mushrooms and it's been studied for its ability to increase brain drive. Neurotrophic factor, which can increase neuroplasticity. The second thing is omega 3 fatty acids is those can improve brain health, concentration, neuroplasticity and mood. And the third is curcumin or turmeric, which you can take as a supplement or even add to your favorite curry dishes. Understanding neuroplasticity paves the way, pun intended, for helping us stabilize our moods, heal from past adversity and trauma, and to create the life, the feelings, the behaviors, and the thoughts that we really want. And a good way to start with that is through the nutrients that you take. I have a ton of information about these different supplements and ways to increase brain health and stabilize mood in the Holistic Wellness Collective.
