This is video number five about my face, and it's the last one, I promise. Hi, I'm Dr. Nicole Kaye, and I am the founder of the Holistic Wellness Collective, where you can learn to be your own holistic wellness expert. Check out the link in the bio. So we talk a lot about your face and moisturizers and cleansers and products and cosmetics and how all of those can have an impact on your skin. But why don't we talk about the water we're using? And this was the big aha for me in my journey with perioral and periorbital dermatitis. So if you're stuck and you're getting inflammation of your skin, instead of going straight for a doxycycline or an antibiotic that's just going to annihilate your gut, try looking at the water that you're using to wash your face and, of course, the water that you're drinking. Here's a resource that you should know about. It's the Environmental Working Group, and they have information about the water quality in the city that you live. I looked at Phoenix, and I looked at Grand Rapids. Phoenix's water quality exceeded the EWG health guidelines, but I wanted to know more. If you scroll down, you can actually see the contaminants that are found in the water. And arsenic is 1,266 times greater than the EWG guideline. And we see this with other toxic chemicals. When we compare this to the water in Grand Rapids, there's a significant difference. So if you're struggling with acne or rashes, then try putting a water filter on and see if that makes a difference in the quality, texture, and the feel of your skin.
