The best music for anxiety and the world's most calming song, all in this video today. Here's a fun fact. Did you know that I used to be in training to be an opera singer? Not a lot of people know that, but I actually went to college on a scholarship and studied music therapy. And so this is a really exciting topic for me because I finally get to merge two of my favorite mental health and music. I've been studying music for anxiety for quite some time and there's a lot of research coming out about a specific type of music delivery that is by far the most effective strategy for calming panic and anxiety. It's called bilateral music therapy. Have you seen those videos on TikTok where people are listening to the headphones and then the sound is ping ponging left and right? That's bilateral music therapy. And what's happening is that as the sound changes from the left and the right, it's activating your vestibular part of your brain which is then sending a signal to actually calm your nervous system by stimulate your vagus nerve. And the most calming song for anxiety was published in the Independent by an author who was reading an article about a study where they used music for anesthesia. The song is by Marconi Union and it's called Weightless. So if you're dealing with anxiety or panic, go and check bilateral stimulation music and let me know what you think.
