Why you should be making a wins board #shorts

Dr. Nicole Cain explains how a wins board counters self-criticism by tracking daily achievements, no matter how small. Getting out of bed, making a hard call, walking your dog all count. Keep it visible and decorated on your wall.

Have you ever heard of a wins board? If you're anything like me, you want to do a really good job, you want to accomplish things, and you want to show up from your very best. But sometimes life gets in the way and you start thinking about what you wish you would have done better, what you could have done better in your regrets. And at the end of the day, a lot of times these regrets can accumulate, making you feel like a failure, and it just compounds those feelings of being hard on yourself. So this is where a wins board comes into play. Every single thing that you do that is a win goes on that board. So it could be something as simple as, I got out of bed today, or I made that difficult phone call, or I was real with how I felt, or I went for a walk, I pet my dog, I listened to a friend. Anything that is a positive goes on that wins board. Anything. And then at the end of the day, you can look at everything you wrote down and have more of a balanced approach to how you assess your day. It can be really easy to be hard on ourselves, and sometimes it can be a lot harder to notice what we are doing well, what we are doing positively to accomplish our goals and to be our best selves. And a WINS board is one of my favorite ways of doing that. Make it really fun. Go get a brightly colored tag board at the store and some markers and some pens and decorate it. And be sure to keep it up on the wall so that you can see it every, every single day.
