A first-person testimonial by 'Jake' describing weight gain after high-school and college football, resulting in severe obesity (up to 416 pounds), physical limitations, pre-diabetic status, social stigma, and depression. He enrolled in Dr. Tague’s weight-loss program, committed fully, and reports losing over 125 pounds—reaching a goal weight of 285 pounds—which he has maintained for about one year. He experienced early improvements (within the first week), regained energy and athleticism, and credits strict adherence to the program for his sustained success.

I've always been pretty big. I played high school football and college football and had to be very big to play my position. I started gaining quite a bit of weight after I was done because I kept on eating like I was playing football. Unfortunately, I eventually got to a place where I was just very physically unhealthy, couldn't do the activities that I wanted to do, and I was getting pre diabetic and just not really enjoying life in a lot of ways. So eventually I just kind of started having discussions with my parents and loved ones and this was actually the first place I went. It hurt to run. I got insanely tired doing just normal walking activities. And I was 20 years old and that had never been a big problem for me before. But it got to the point to where things I used to be able to do while playing sports in high school or playing sports in college, I just couldn't do anymore because I gained such a significant amount of weight. There were a couple times where I definitely felt, definitely felt judged and just like there was a time on a plane where just a lady was insanely rude because she didn't want to sit next to me and quite frankly felt insanely embarrassed in front of hundreds of people on a plane that she would complain about something like that. It got to the point to where I just had depression for a little bit just because I didn't realize how serious of a problem it was. But right when I started the program, right when I kind of turned things around, my mood just started to swing. I started getting more energy and my outlook on life just completely started to change. I was up to 416 pounds and my ideal weight, my goal was 285 pounds and I reached that goal. I've been at my goal weight for about a year and sustained that for a whole entire year. So I've lost over 125 pounds on Dr. Tae's program. Just very, very significant. Absolutely. Just life changing. I started seeing results pretty much almost immediately. Within the first week. I kind of went into the program full throttle, just really motivated to do it. And I saw results pretty much instantly. So that was something that was very encouraging. I think a great part of the program is like when you are motivated to do it, you're going to see changes pretty much instantly as long as you're doing the program the right way. Ever since I've reached my weight goal, I feel the healthiest and the most athletic I've ever felt in my entire life. It's been just a major, major change socially I've seen just a lot of things change because of it. I weigh less now than I did in high school so a lot of my friends just kind of were shocked like they saw me gain all this weight after high school but then when I came back a year later or saw me a year later, I was completely different. I feel healthier than I've ever felt before. I have more energy than I've ever had before and anything I'm doing, any job I'm like going at it 100%. I'm able to do whatever I'm supposed to be doing very well. Just the main contributor to my success with all my weight loss was sticking to the program. The that was the biggest part. I didn't look elsewhere. I didn't do cheat days. I just did what everyone here at the office told me to do and it worked so well. If you stick with the program you're going to have success.
