This is a YouTube video titled "Body Chat for pain relief" (created 2023-01-11) containing an English guided therapeutic/visualization session between a facilitator (SPEAKER A) and a participant (Will). The facilitator leads a 'body chat' exercise that personifies Will's chronic hand pain as shapes and colors, uses imagery to elicit the pain's "message" (identifying a need for attention and exercise), and guides progressive visualizations to release it. The session recommends practical steps (daily finger stretches, attention/self-care, optional massage) and ends with Will reporting improvement.

Okay, hi Will!
Hello!
Okay, so we're here to talk about your hands, and you said you've had pain in them for years, right?
Yes.
Okay, cool. So what we're going to do is a thing called body chat, and we're going to ask your hands why they do that to you. What message are they giving you that you're not picking up? Cool, because your unconscious mind is obviously telling you something. We're going to find out what it is. So you okay with that?
Okay.
Okay, good. So go ahead and close your eyes. And if you were to imagine that pain as a shape and a color, what shape and color would it be in your hands?
Um, blue diamond.
A blue diamond. Okay, cool. And I want you to imagine that blue diamond going clockwise or counterclockwise. Which way would it like to go?
Clockwise.
Clockwise, awesome. I want you to pop that blue diamond outside your hand and tip it upside down now so it's going anti-clockwise, and then make it a different shape and color. What shape and color would it like to be?
Yellow and round.
Yellow round. And pop that yellow round shape going anti-clockwise back into your thing, into your hands, and just lock it in. And now I want you to put the face and two little arms and legs on it. It's cute, huh? And I want you to ask it, what is it that it's been trying to tell you? What's its message to you? What haven't you been listening to? What does it need from you?
Exercise.
Exercise. Is it time to do exercise, do you think, at last? Have you resisted it enough years?
Well, yeah, because it hurts.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Okay.
And, but it will, it will probably, it will, it will probably hurt less if I exercise. I mean, formally exercise.
And you exercise and maybe put some massage oil on it to make it easier to exercise? Um, or just exercise?
Well, the exer— the, the oil wouldn't— I don't think—
I was thinking of massaging your hands at the same time.
Oh, I can't massage my hand.
Cool, then just exercise, right?
Yeah.
Okay, cool. So are you ready to do some exercise, do you think? Can you do 10 times a day, maybe just 10 stretches a day with your hand, with your fingers?
Yeah.
Okay, what does it need from you emotionally? What emotionally haven't you been supplying for it, that little yellow round shape? Attention. Attention. Okay, are you going to give yourself some attention? Do you think, is it time to do that too?
Yeah.
Pay attention to your own needs. Good. So I'd like you to make that little shape Smaller. Can you make it as small as a golf ball?
Yeah. Okay.
Can you give it a gift? A box. See it open the box and imagine what's inside it. What would it be?
Light.
Light. And the significance of that is?
Bringing the pain into the open.
Bringing the pain into the open, good. And I'd like you to give that little shape, that little yellow round shape, a pet. What would it like, a dog or a cat?
A dog.
A dog, okay, a little puppy dog?
Yeah.
Okay, give it a little puppy dog and tell it anytime you're not paying any attention to it or you're not exercising, it will always have a friend.
Okay, good.
Is it feeling a bit better yet? Little face smiling at you? Yeah, good.
It's hard to see because it's so small.
Okay, but you get the impression it's smiling?
Yeah.
Okay, cool. So I'd like you to make it even smaller. I'd like you to make it as small as an almond. Is that possible?
Oh, it was already smaller than an almond.
Oh, okay, it even got smaller. Awesome, you're ahead of me. Make it as small as a grain of rice. And now I'd like you to put two little wings on it like it's a butterfly and see it pop out of your hands with the pet holding the little puppy dog with it as it flies away. As it flies away saying, "Thank you, thank you for setting me free," and flying off into its freedom like a butterfly. You can see it just leaping and jumping in the air. It's looking absolutely happy as anything. It feels really good. Good. And now open your eyes. And how do your hands feel?
Yeah, feel better.
Yeah, it's interesting, isn't it?
Yeah.
Excellent. Awesome. So, and in the future when you think about this happening again, is it possible to pay attention to yourself and do exercise with your hands?
Yes.
Excellent. Well done, that's awesome. Thank you very much. You're welcome.
