Hello, this is Dr. Yvonne Oswald Oswald Oswald. Today we're talking about just breathe your way to happiness. We breathe every day, we breathe unconsciously. As you breathe, you feel good, and every breath you take lights up your body and renews your immune system and actually detoxifies your body. I do a lot of smoking cessation, and that means people come to me and they want to become nonsmokers. And what's interesting is they say, "I smoke to relax." In actual fact, cigarettes are stimulants. They're full of stimulants. They're full of all kinds of things, including sugar, which is why they think they're addicted to them, because the sugar is actually 7 to 18% of cigarettes. So what happens is after someone quits smoking, they actually then crave the sugar. It's interesting, interesting fact, little fact there. So the smoker comes to me and says, It relaxes me. What relaxes a smoker is this. They go out, they get up in the morning, they get their cigarette, and they do this. And that's one of the first things they do when they get up in the morning. What's very interesting about that is that that actually relaxes the body. It's the breathing that relaxes the body, not the smoking. In actual fact, smokers breathe better than most of the rest of us. All right? So, as they breathe, they actually take that deep breath and the belly pushes out, the diaphragm releases. So that breath, the diaphragm releases and instantly, the unconscious mind gets the message that the danger's over, we're done, we're good, we're safe and calm. That's what the benefit of the cigarettes is in actual fact. So let's do that consciously for ourselves. I have a breath called the 7-7-11 breath. And what we're going to do is breathe in that breath for 7, hold it for 7, and breathe it out for 11. The 7 breathing in is longer than you would normally do. The 7 holding it allows your unconscious mind to sort out any issues that are around. It's that beautiful space, what's called the still point, and it actually starts to sort out little things in your head. And then that 11 breath out releases all the carbon dioxide from your body. So, first of all, get into position. Head up, chin up a little bit. Remember, keep your chin up means keep optimistic. Takes you into a different part of your brain, and you're going to become aware of what's on the right and the left so that you can actually feel good. In this position, with your back straight, chin up, and looking like this, you cannot access a negative emotion. So, we're going to do this. We're going to look up at the ceiling. Take one deep breath to release and then come back to center. Check in with your power center, remember, 3 fingers below your belly button. And I've got my little puppy dog there today going, "Heh heh, feeling good?" It's feeling wonderful. That little power center is what's going to balance your body and balance your energy and your motivation. So let's begin. We're going to breathe in for 7. Hold it for 7. Breathe out for 11. Because you've taken in a big amount of oxygen, you may go a little bit dizzy at first, which means that you probably need to be breathing a bit more. So this time we're going to do it with a visualization. What we're going to do is breathe in the 7 through the top of your head. You're going to bring in the universal light energy into your heart center. We're going to hold it in the heart center for a count of 7. You can also make this pink because pink is the color of receiving, it's the color of love. Make that pink in the heart center and then breathe out and breathe out for 11. And as you breathe out, you're going to breathe out everything that's not, not worth having in your life. So you're going to breathe in your awesome magnificence, breathe out anything that doesn't serve you and support your awesome magnificence. You can also breathe out for the good of humanity. So you can breathe in for your own good, breathe out for the good of humanity. So let's go ahead and start breathing in for yourself first of all. So breathe in through the top of your head, the 7. Hold it in the heart chakra for 7. Beautiful pink. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. And breathe it out for 11. Everything that doesn't serve me and doesn't support me. Good. Again, breathe it in. And I'm already feeling very calm inside. It's a really lovely feeling. Let's take it up a step and let's breathe in for my own good, breathe out for the good of humanity. So as you breathe in this time, again breathing in through the crown chakra into your heart center, make it pink, and breathe that out for the good of all the rest of the world. So again, eyes up a little bit. Breathe in for my own good. Hold it in the body. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Breathe it out for the good of all mankind and all womankind. Breathe it in. Hold it for 7. Make it pink. Breathe it out for the good of the world and world peace. Good. I'm feeling awesome, actually. Just 3 or 4 breaths and I'm feeling really good. So the last thing I want to teach you today is how to get a bubble of light around you for protection. You know when you're with a friend and they're not feeling very good that day and they're talking away and we tend to kind of join in with it and go down with them. Them. This is a very good way to actually get a bubble of light around yourself so that you can listen and just be the dispassionate observer and not have to go down there with them. So this time we're going to breathe in the light for 7, hold it for 7, and breathe it out and just hold the bubble of light here at about arm's length. And as you hold the bubble of light around you, you'll find that you feel awesomely calm and that you don't get involved in their emotional state and you're actually a lot better for them when you're not in that emotional state with them. You can still empathize and sympathize, and you hold that bubble of light around you. So last time, breathe in the light, looking at your friend, listening, hold it, and then breathe it out and hold the bubble of light around you. Pass this on to all your friends.
