Passes out to Thompson, rotated to Elijah Bryant, drives. Oh ho ho, delightful finger roll from Elijah Bryant, and he likes it!
Breakfast of a champion. Pancakes, oatmeal, oatmeal pancake, banana oatmeal pancakes, eggs, steak, fruit. Thanks, Philly. I really got the whole same fit on, bro. Shit, it's the team fit. No, the shoes too. Oh yeah, these bitches too comfy. This is camera MVP, not me. MVP camera.
It's his view.
The thing about being on the road is you get back late. It's 10:11 and we're about to go eat dinner. And then I need to get a massage. It's just a— I have a bunch of routines that I do.
Are there any, uh, packages?
Yes, for Elijah. I'm looking for a package that I have delivered to the hotel. Yes, if it's here. Okay, thank you. At least in Turkey, another thing you probably don't think about is getting shoes, getting basketball shoes. I don't have a Nike deal. I can get stuff from Adidas if I want to, but I ordered some stuff from Nike to Italy. I'm not a guy who to make this normal KDs. I'm not a guy who's like into colorways. I'm more into fit and how it feels. So these were good to me last year. I'm gonna try to rock out with the KDs this year. Bluey, his soccer shoes. He started soccer. And I got— oh, I got little Roxy some Nikes. Look, little Roxy's shoes. Yeah, I don't know why. And then here's Bluey's, uh, Soccer shoes, they're perfect. This is still one thing I do not understand about the showers. Why? The water goes all on the floor. Just make it full. Okay, so I travel a lot, obviously. I travel to a bunch of different cities. If you look at my passport, you would see that I've been to Egypt, I've been to Russia, I've been to Italy, I've been to Spain, I've been to Germany, I've been to all these places. But most of the time when I'm traveling, I'm usually in a hotel and I don't have opportunities to go and explore the city just because I'm here for work. So when it comes to going places and exploring doesn't happen for me. But when I travel, there are some things that are a must-have for me as I've gotten older and understood what's important to me. Maybe this isn't for everyone. So as you guys know, the chili pad is coming regardless. Vitamins, omega-3s, amino acids, my Blackboard immunity, my sleep mask, Hyperice knee warmers for the game, stretch band, grafting tool. Masszymes, clippers, my Beet Heat to increase nitric oxide, probiotics. There's a bunch of stuff that I have that allows me to be optimized at the peak performance to be able to play the game. So now we have about, I don't know, a few hours before we go to practice. So I'm gonna lay down, relax, call wifey, chill.
It didn't flow the way it should have flowed.
What do you mean it should—
It's a little confusing. It was like confusing as a person that doesn't know his career history.
We were jumping around too much. It was our first one. Hi, Bluey!
What's good, bro?
Nice shirt. How was P3?
It was good.
Mom texted you something about your high school? Uh, yeah. All you can do in this situation is control what you can control and keep moving forward, getting better each and every single day. You gotta perform on the court regardless. That's gonna get you a scholarship. You hear me?
Yeah, Elijah.
The thing is, you're gonna be put in situations that aren't in your favor, right? Let's say my situation, for example, when I first came to my team, Ephesus. We have a bunch of players that are in front of me and I have to adapt to a different role. You gotta be like water sometimes and adapt into that different role. Maybe you don't like it now, but it's going to help you in the future, you know what I mean? Because in order to have a good team, you have to have some sort of role, right? Yeah, you might have the ball more, you might have to shoot more, you might have to play defense more, you might— but how are you going to find ways to affect the game without scoring? Because there's only one ball. So if you're having an off day, how are you affecting the game? Or are you only the player that could be out there for 5 minutes to see if they're gonna score? You know what I mean? The goal is not like— you should never— okay, you can think about the scholarship, you can think about the reward, but you have to— we always talk about focusing on the systems. Yeah, that's the main thing, because if you can't get the systems down, then when you reach the goal, you're going to be like, oh, I reached the goal. Yeah, like, dude, it doesn't matter. Like, if you get a scholarship now, if you go junior college, if you go post-grad, it doesn't matter. It matters if you're in here. Like, freaking Duncan Robinson made $90 million. Dude played Division II. Like, don't get gung-ho on the scholarship thing. Like, get gung-ho on your systems and getting better and going at people who are supposed to be better than you. Like, oh, I'm getting better, and having intention in practice every single day.
I love you. How are you?
You're good. Good. Yeah, it was good. All right, so I usually watch my film at snack, but this team Bologna has so many new guys. And I know some of them, like Rae'Jahn Tucker. I played with them. I was with the Milwaukee Bucks in summer league. Obviously I know Will, I know Ante, uh, Bellinelli. I know all their tendencies. As a defender, when I'm guarding these guys, I'm focused on tendencies because you can't know every single move and you have to react quickly. So there's a lot of players— Matt Morgan, Rae'Jahn, uh, Kornier— I mean, I know their I know Courtney has tendencies, but I want to see their shots. I want to see what they— the last shots they felt good making, what they made, because those are going to be the things that they go back to, I feel like. So that's what I like to watch right now. So how was school? How was school?
I got one. Even those, those have sunflower oil in it, but the soft ones No, it looks better. So they're ruined.
Yeah, I mean, they're probably better than—
What are you saying?
Nothing, nothing. Don't say anything.
What happened, Mom?
Nothing. Those are fire.
You miss me? Yeah.
Wait, Bluey, Bluey, look.
Me?
Bluey.
Fire. Fire! You're gonna match the other kids.
Well, it's time to take the pregame nap, get ready for the game, and lock in.
Straight from the playground to the elite court with Elijah Bryant, and he likes it. Matthew Morgan doesn't hesitate.
Same spot, same result. And Matthew Morgan with 2 3-pointers in a hurry for Virtus Sigafredo Bologna. His team back to within touching distance. It's a 2-score affair. Moves to 14 points in the game after going 1 of 2 from the free throw line. Matthew Morgan has lost the handle, lost his footing as Toko Shengelia goes for the reverse. It's off the mark and the defensive rebound secured by Elijah Bryant is the final action of this fixture. And what a fixture to open the new campaign for Virtus Sigafredo Bologna and Anadolu Efes Istanbul, a repeat of the play-in fixture.
So you're not going to shower when you get back home from the airport?
Of course.
What's up guys, I'm in Izmir, Turkey. Thanks for watching the video. Let me know what you guys want to see, you know, health, fitness, and remember, consistency over intensity.
