My life as a NBA Player!

In this vlog, NBA guard Elijah Bryant walks viewers through a typical playoff‑week day, detailing his on‑court preparation (weights, vitamins, film, shooting while fatigued) and off‑court routines (snack hauls from Whole Foods, COVID testing, jet‑lag recovery). He shares the emotional impact of his family’s visit after months apart, describing airport logistics, hotel challenges, and the sacrifices required to balance a professional career with personal life. The video also highlights team culture – meals with teammates, the "CFA family" camaraderie, and his role in mentoring a younger sibling in basketball fundamentals. Throughout, Elijah emphasizes his personal philosophy, the One Cent Club, focusing on daily optimization, frugality, and gratitude, while offering candid reflections on the pressures of playoff preparation and the importance of sacrifice for success.

But I'm excited, my family's here. Here he goes again, Elijah Bryant. Elijah Bryant, dazzling dribble dancing. Morning.
Today is— I don't even know what today is, but we have practice, weights, vitamins, practice. Yeah, trying to get ready for the playoffs against Miami. So I slept so bad last night. I kept waking up thinking like, damn, we gotta be at the plane at 3, or, or gotta be at the gym at 5. Well, I literally woke up at 3, 5, and 7. At 7, I woke I woke up and brushed my teeth and I'm like, what am I doing, bro? Then when I went back to sleep, but God is good, baby. God is good. Another day, another day, man. Another day to get better at life. Oh, another day to get better at basketball and at life. So one cent club. All right, so today was a lot. I think it's just my body getting adjusted to everything, you know. I'm lifting weights, it's offseason just because I'm not playing as much now. So I was in Maccabi, I wasn't lifting as hard. Now I'm lifting like super heavy like it's off season. It's good, I like it a lot. My body's getting adjusted to it, but it's, it's like adjusting. It's like a preseason of a EuroLeague team, like you're getting adjusted to everything, you know. Um, then dealing with the jet lag. But today, you know, I went in, I did weights, I did this thing we call vitamins, which is, you know, getting some skill work. Then we did film practice, and then we played. And it might not sound like that much, but my body's tired. And I'm about to get this COVID test and then relax, man.
I'm tired.
I didn't sleep well last either. So obviously I get this food from like the facility and stuff and it's like good, but I've been craving like some snacks. So I ordered some stuff from Whole Foods. I ordered some dark chocolate, sardines, kombucha, Siete chips, Siete grain-free chips. They always look out, but they're fire. Cashew queso stuff, healthy ice cream bars. I need something sweet. Pork rinds, bone broth. I think that's it. And it should be here by 10:00 so that way I can have like some snacks here.
Today was—
didn't really like film anything just because I was at the gym. I'm not gonna whip out my camera like, hey guys, here's my camera. Like I said, we did practice, all our stuff. My body—
I'll tell my mom—
my body feels like I was going through pre-draft trying to adjust to everything, but it's good, man.
It's— it's—
I'm super excited to be here. Everyone here is— they're great people, um, not just because I'm here, but they're just quality people. It wasn't basketball, they'd be running some high-level organization, whatever that is. So makes sense why they're so good, or were so good.
Boy, got a burner.
Some cat— is this open? Cashew queso.
Queso.
Why'd I say it like that? Holy crap. I didn't know it was this big. That's why it was so crazy expensive.
Kombucha.
Kombucha. Kabuchi. Okay.
Bag number 1.
I'm gonna do a little haul. Ooh, these healthy ice cream sandwiches. Definitely about to have one of those. Not the best, but I went with the most healthiest one I could get. We got chips, different pork rinds, sardines. Great healthy snack. Great healthy snack. CFA. You guys know how I feel about CFA. I'm part of the CFA family. I love CFA.
Bone broth.
Super good for you. What are these?
Tiny little—
You can't tell the size on Amazon what it is. Dark chocolate. So I'm about to get into this stuff and yeah, I'm excited. I want to get—
does this have a freezer?
Good morning. So I have to go to some media people from Salt Lake. I want to do some stuff, but I have to go through the PR team of the Bucks before I do anything now. And then we just have like film today and then a little break bread where we just have dinner. As a team. So, all right, so I got my salad. You guys saw me do my treatment and stuff. Somebody eat this salad and with some chips and some stuff before I have to go back to the gym. All right, so today is Thursday. We play Saturday at 1. Yeah, we just have normal stuff, you know, practice, weights, vitamins, and then we'll probably play a little bit after. Yeah, I was just trying to get ready. Like yesterday we had a film and break bread, and we got to eat dinner as a team. So yeah, I mean, we're just trying to, you know, get ready for Miami, be as prepared as possible. So, all right, so today is Friday. My family comes in town today, as well as my agent, Adam. So I need to clean the room up. Today we have just practice, probably light practice, but I'm gonna go in and get some shots up and stuff before. Finally starting to get used to the 3-point line and the pole. It's an adjustment just because, I mean, when you get tired, that line seems really far. So I think over time it'll get better, obviously. Yeah, I'm excited for my family to come in. I haven't seen them almost 10 months, my brother. I haven't seen my wife in like a few weeks. You guys saw when we left at the airport, but it's about sacrificing. Anything in life worth having is— you gotta sacrifice. You guys know that. We talk about that all the time. So yeah, I'm gonna try to like tidy up real quick, throw stuff on the couch so they can at least vacuum, make the bed, that type of stuff. And then I'll go to gym. All right, so I'm about to pick up moms from the airport. I haven't seen her in like 10, 9 and a half months, something like that, with my little brother Kai. And it's going to be the first time I've seen her since I've been in the NBA. So exciting, emotional, anxious, nervous.
I don't know.
Flight, it was good.
Kai fell asleep right at the end.
Kai V. Because I'll have to leave, won't I? What do you think about me making the NBA?
Ready for my new shoe dance? Yeah, yeah. You can turn some music on.
Okay, okay, I'll turn some music on. Come on, come like it's hot.
I can't do it. Drop like it's hot. Whoa.
Go, go, go!
Yee! Yeah! Stop it!
So no one wants to talk. So basically— I'll tell them. Tell them.
Elijah failed to get when Janelle's flight was coming in, so he assumed that it was coming in.
No, no, no, no, we didn't. You gotta backtrack.
Back it up.
Oh, Janelle missed her connecting flight because the plane had maintenance issues.
Delta.
Delta.
Good old Delta. She tried to connect in Chicago, it couldn't. And now she connected in Madison, Wisconsin. So we were driving to Madison, Wisconsin, which is an hour away, and realized that her flight didn't come in until 10:30, and we were like 15 minutes away, and it's 8:30. So Elijah has to take a COVID test, so we're on our way back, dropping him off, and then I'll go and get her.
But we're gonna eat good tonight because I ordered some good food from a great restaurant.
That's all that matters, and that everyone gets here safely.
That's right.
No hot water in the hotel and Kai's taking a cold shower. Come on, get in. Kai, it's— Kai, Kai, this is how you do the cold shower.
You get in, you go— No, I do all the time.
Kai freaking did it. We couldn't figure out how to close these things. Kai, you got something you need to tell me? No. Are you a dad? Uh-uh.
Give me some. Oh yeah. Thank you. It's my bed now.
It's your bed. Cut's hoodie. Fresh shirts, shout out to Cut's. Thanks, Cut's.
Aye, aye, aye.
First playoff game, I don't know if I'm dressing or not. So I gotta bring clothes like I'm not, just in case. My workout's at 10:30 and it's freaking no shower.
The shower's on.
But I'm excited my family's here. Excited to be the first player off cam for this win. Big dog. All right, thank the Lord for all he's done for us.
All right, yep.
All right, I love you.
Give me kisses. Cheek, cheek, cheek, cheek, cheek, cheek, cheek.
Hold it down, right?
You know, P-O-P.
Hold it down. Hold it down.
P-O-P. Hold it down.
Phone, iPad. Find me the maps. All right, I'll see you in one week. So I got to get to stuff. Love you.
Oh, I might as well get ready and go to the game. This is the view. Game's at 1, so 11:10. Nice view though. Stadium's right there. Mom is all dressed up.
Just jeans, not that bad.
This is my fit. Slides, Jordan socks. And some Nike pants and a black shirt. All the food. That's my bag. Chanel's. Mom's. All this stuff. Get it, get it. Uh-oh, you know that stretch knee. We're switching it up again. Clap it. There you go. 1, 2, get it again. Wave those arms for the stairs. We got a second Now the shot fails, and Elijah Bryant— something needs to go that shot. He's got to go in for himself. That's a terrible shot. What year did the Milwaukee Bucks rebrand to their current colors and logo? Did that happen in 2013, 2014, 2015, or was it the 2016 season? It was in 2015. Crazy, time just flies, my fans. You know what else flies?
Who was the first ever draft pick for the Milwaukee Bucks?
Was it Kareem? Was it Johnny Mack? Sidney Moncrief? Or was it Charlie Pauld? Sidney Moncrief. Good ball, grief. What? Wow, what a rebound! What a freaking rebound!
So hopefully my brother got got some good footage for you guys. We won. Chris hit a big-time shot, Kobe-like shot. It's a super great experience for me, not only to be there for my first playoff game but also have my family there, including this little guy.
Say what's up, Louie.
Say what's up, Louie.
Hi.
But yeah, my wife, my mom are in Whole Foods right now getting some food. Great win!
Go Bucks!
Mr. Bluey slept all night and Dad's about to go to work and it's raining. You feeling better?
We diagnosed him with hand, foot, and mouth.
Hand, foot, and mouth, but he only has it on his mouth. All right, we got Mr. Kybie here. What are we doing, Ky? A little ball handling action?
Yeah.
Huh, we're gonna get better today or no?
You ready?
3, 2, 1, go. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Stop, stop, stop. All right, so look, I watched your game. When you're coming down and there's a defender guarding right here, it's like guarding, guarding. You dribble this way and that way, right? No, like when you're going downhill, do your little stutter step and go. Look, look, look, look, go. You see what I'm saying?
Yeah.
You do this, you feel a little tense, you don't have a shot, you pass it. Another thing is, I haven't seen this, but I know, being that you're smaller, when you're trying to go up and get the ball, being the smaller defender or smaller offense person, you're gonna be allowed to get more stops. So like, guard me hard like I'm the ball being passed in, right? Right? Obviously try not to push off of them. If you go in like this and it's okay, maybe you foul one time, but the guy can guard you as hard. All right, or guard me close. Guard me close. All right, another thing I'm gonna teach you that I told you just now is let's say you get hit by a screen, right?
Right?
You get boxed in really hard, right? Okay, so you switch. Well, your defender's late to shoot.
What's your—
what do you need to do? What's your next step?
Wait, late to shoot, switch, switch on.
He's going to shoot, so what's the next step for you?
Box out, right?
Box out the big, right?
Yeah, exactly. So lifting, like I said, when, huh? Wednesday. I know you don't care.
Get it out. Look, pump it off.
Right, right into it.
Right, now left.
One dribble. No, no, no, pay attention. He went back first. You go back.
That's the whole game. You got to, you got to know what's going on.
I wasn't paying attention to the front arm.
Okay, okay, now that's fast.
You got to think about if your good foot is running or your opposite.
So right now there should be no reason it should be right— not right in the pocket right now. Okay, you got, you got, you got— wait, hold On, 2, 2 dribbles.
Wait, hold on.
Oh my God, that was good, but get lower. Now you got to guard him at arm distance. There you go, there you go.
Yeah, good using your offhand.
Okay, come on, but Turnover.
Uh-oh, spaghetti house.
Yes, that's exactly what you need to do.
7, 8, 9.
Good job, buddy.
Oh, I'm done. Okay.
The whole gang's out here matching. All right, we'll meet you guys downstairs. We're gonna get the car. Did someone fart in there? The whole gang.
Wait, get your phone out. Let's take a selfie.
Okay, in the mirror. All right, so today is game day. Game 2 of the Miami Heat series playoff. I just went in, got some work in, you know, just a workout, just kind of trying to get used to just everything, get acclimated to everything, shooting while I'm tired, just kind of getting a routine, make sure I'm, you know, staying on top of getting my work in. You guys know One Cent Club is focusing on optimizing and getting better every single day no matter the circumstances. Now Wednesday we leave to go to Miami. I'm gonna move out the hotel. We're gonna be gone for 5 days, and I'm gonna check back in when I get back, just so I'm not paying the 5 days. So I know, guys, I— yes, I know I'm cheap, but I mean, I've always been that way. So no matter how much money I'm making, I'll always be frugal. So I'm gonna get this room organized and try to get packed up a little bit. Throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it!
Yeah! Cookie! Yeah! Cookie! Yeah!
Who is it?
Housekeeping? I'm here to clean some dirty—
style by Jen. Tell them what we got, Jen.
Okay, standing 6'5", 6'2". Just kidding. Wax London. It's a short jacket. I don't know what they're called. It's over a Carhartt t-shirt with some Dickies khakis and cream Converse and a Paul Newman to ice it out. First look. Yeah. Oh, 2-1. What I do, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Don't cry. You gonna miss me?
I'll see you soon though. Kisses. Don't cry. We're used to this, right? Sacrifices. It's gonna pay off, okay? I love you guys. Travel in safety. Let's get a picture.
Okay.
All right, so I just dropped my family off. They're going back to Atlanta. As you guys saw, Jim was sad. It's not easy. It doesn't get easy doing this, but I always tell you guys, you know, with anything, you know, worth having comes sacrifice. And it wasn't basketball. I'd be sacrificing price something else just to take care of my family, fulfill my dreams. So always remember that. Remember, like, when you're chasing something or you're going for a dream, you're gonna have to give up something else, whether that's socializing with your friends, whether that's playing video games. You're gonna have to give up something.
So hopefully that helps.
