One bounce? Hell no. Good morning. Today is game day. We play Red Star. Yes, these are my vitamins, but This is a probiotic I take in the morning just to get everything flowing in the morning. Makes me go to the bathroom. If you're interested in all the vitamins I take and what I take and why I take it, let me know in the comments. Maybe I can put together like a PDF of what I take, why I take it, and what you should start taking. We're not just playing Red Star this week, we're also playing Partizan as well. And if you don't know, these are two of the powerhouse clubs in Serbia, the best two clubs. With some of the best fans in the world. So it'll be interesting to see if some of their fans make the trip to Istanbul. And let me know in the comments which team has the best fans, Partizan or Red Star. And stay till the end because I'll be giving my 6 top tips to solving plantar fasciitis when I had it. Roderick, you didn't even say anything. What's up everybody, it's Shane Larkin and Roderick. There's only one person that could be in here—
my son!
I just want you to know, big girl, what's your name? I'm talking to you. 45 minutes. We talked about my old coach. I played with Maccabi. Taught me a lot of things, like we talked about the last video about the contest. So tonight is my first time playing against him since playing with him in Maccabi. And on another note, uh, tonight there will be a moment of silence for a former EuroLeague player who passed away. So condolences to him. Giannis Timou, I played against him when he was in Chemki. And that brings it to another thing, is as men in sports, we think we're all muscular and tough and unbreakable. And I feel like sometimes when someone reaches out to ask you how you're doing, we will never say, oh, I'm actually doing bad, I'm not feeling well mentally, I just haven't been there. Always like, no, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good. I think we need to actually make it normal and acceptable to say, hey, I'm not doing well, you know. So if you're not doing well, reach out to someone and actually ask for help and allow them to help you. Okay, so now it's time to watch some film. My first matchup, I'm gonna see how Isaiah's been scoring. This guy right here needs to be right here because look at the spacing. He can stunt and get back, and even if he back cuts, this guy can help. So this is actually a good tip you'll pick up from watching film, just knowing I take the ball out a lot. So as you see this, a lot of things are on the same play, but what I notice is The inbounder switches onto the ball, so that's good information to know because I only have 5 seconds to take it out. So boom, they switch. So I need to know, I need to have a second option if they switch onto what I'm trying to do. So this is a great read by Walkup, knowing he's not guarding the shooter and knowing what they're looking for on this side. So Walkup's guarding Cody Miller-McIntyre, that he doesn't want to shoot. So when they come off the pick and pop Look, Kalinic, he fully rotates. Okay, yes, it's dangerous, but if he gets it, it's 2 points. If he doesn't get it, what happens? Yes, the coaches tell us calls, but it's nice to see the film. Look, you can actually see this. My old coach in Maccabi, Giannis, great guy. He's calling L4. L4 was L4 zipper pick and roll to get the switch. It's the little things you pick up in film.
As two teams with identical records prepare to go head-to-head in this quiet night of round 15 action in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Anadolu Efes Istanbul welcoming Sivanas Vezda Meridian Vett Belgrade. They arrive with an 8-7 record facing the basket, now looking to go to work, puts the spin move on Erçan Osmane again. Muscled his way to the bucket. Vincent Poirier picking up another offensive rebound. 3-pointer is drained by Elijah Bryant. Zvezda haven't been much better because they've turned the ball over 4 times. Back-to-back 3-point buckets. Down low, Elijah Bryant fakes the 3, offloads to Erçan Özmani, goes up strong and finishes the game. Game committed by Efes. But now Zvezda have committed their 5th turnover as Elijah Bryant down the sideline, terrific finish through lots of contact down low, no whistle on the play. Got 4 points in a row for Anadolu Efes Istanbul having made his first 2 free throws. Bobois, big pump fake on the corner 3, pull-up J from the baseline at mid-range. McIntyre, that's a solid screen set by Djor Bolomboye, ball back out to the perimeter, Philip Petrušev is feeling it tonight. Fantastic ball movement down low as Elijah Bryant initiating contact gets the field goal to fall, and he's looking at the ref inquiringly, asking, where is my foul? That's from Philip Petrušev. Elijah Bryant keeping his dribble alive, drives on Kalinic, gets to his spot, edge of the lane, beautiful bucket on the mid-range pull-up. 4 points in a row for Elijah Bryant. Kalinic off the back iron. Elijah Bryant doing it all, ripping down the rebound, orchestrating the transition. Jordan Warra buries the transition. Luka Mitrovic, who has lost the basketball and then commits a foul against Elijah Bryant. Luka Mitrovic hit with the unsportsmanlike foul, so a potential 5-point trip down the floor. Elijah Bryant working the jab steps, step-back 3, and it's a 5-point trip down the floor from the searingly hot hand of Elijah Bryant. Elijah Bryant drives, kicks to the high post. Vincent Poirier didn't look at the basket. He rolls, they hang it up. What a beautiful 2-man exchange between Shane Larkin and Vincent Poirier. Foul call assessed against Savanas Verte Meridian Beto Belgrade. That basket will not count. And Anadolu Efes Istanbul make it back-to-back wins for just the 3rd time this season. They went on 2-game winning streaks in round 4 and 5. Rounds 9 and 10, and here in rounds 15 and 16, they have secured their third 2-game winning streak of the season, and they have done it in dominant fashion at the expense of Svenas Vezda Meridianbet Belgrade.
Man, this is cool, man. Hey, but got the win. It's crazy because Last time we were talking, we were talking about how I didn't play well, we got the win, and dealing with my emotions then. But this is just as dangerous because now I can be like, oh, I played well, we won, and not keep putting the extra work in. So I'm gonna play Partizan in less than 48 hours, taking care of my body, and still gonna get the work in. So tomorrow and have some sort of sense of urgency and, um, clarification of what I'm going to do tomorrow to get better. I think for me, it's working on my, uh, 2-point shots, some easy ones I missed, I left out there. So I'm going to focus on that, get a massage, and go from there. But remember, work plus faith is undefeated. So after a big game, it's always hard to go to sleep. And no matter what time I go to sleep, my kids wake me up in the morning. And it's one of those things, it's like, man, I am so tired, but this is the best feeling in the world, being a dad. So I just dropped Blue off at school. I'm gonna go home and go back to sleep. No, it's perfect. You just want to get it on video. I want to get on video, but I wanted to try that. No, I like it. I know, just how you think. This is more secure. It's not even on it. Right here. Right here is perfect. This can stand like this. Oh, wait, time out. Jen went back to workouts and her shoulder's been hurting, so I put my knee brace on her back to warm up her lat muscle. I take care of you. All right, so you guys probably saw Trey's knee health workout, but I'm gonna put my little spin on it and do it before my workout. So let's do my kind of knee hab exercises to make sure the knee's feeling good. Trey had a bunch of good ones that I'm gonna use as well, but I'm also gonna add some of my own favorites. Let's get it. What do you say? You need to live. Lift every day. If it's important, you need to do it every day. You know this. Oh, hell no.
Oh, oh, oh, jump!
What's the bet? I need to go play football for real. Oh my gosh, one bounce. Hell no. Oh shoot. Yo, what, what is this, Samanu? What is this in the weight room? What is this? What is this? Oh, the program. The program. Smart man. Smart man. Very nice. I'm extremely tired, so I will watch film at the hotel like we did last time. And I didn't sleep too well last night, so after games I'm usually like wired because I'm happy I played well, but also thinking about things I could have done better. And then you guys have seen me on the flip side where I'm pissed off I didn't play good and still thinking about things I should have done or shouldn't, shouldn't have done. So I'm gonna go to sleep, get some good rest, and get ready for Parkside game tomorrow, which is a very talented team. They have players like Brandon Davies, Bonga, Shannon Brown, Carly Jones, Tyree Jones, one of former teammates, so I need the rest, to say the least. So here's little things you'll notice. So that's what I'm really just— from the start of the game right here, Carly Jones, Shannon Brown, Tyreek, Mike, and there's a new guy. What I do notice is that he is on the best player of the other team, Theo Maladum. See how aggressive he is? So now that he's super aggressive I know I can bait him into getting a foul. Look how aggressive he is, swiping, playing hard. I know that role because I've been in that role before when I was in Maccabi, you know, play hard defense, rebound, all that stuff. So I know when he gets on me that I need to use his aggressiveness against him. And I know at the end right here, under 7, so around under 10, under 7, they switch. So if I know that, I can know exactly what we're going to do. Well, we're going to get the over-aggressive guy and foul real quick, get him a foul, boom. So you might think, okay, it's one foul, whatever, but that adds up because once we get the bonus, we shoot free throws. So it's little things like that that you can pick up, not from watching individual clips, from watching a full game. Like I said before, if you have nerves before a game, that's normal. Embrace them. But understand, every single game is an experiment. So go out there and run the experiment, collect the data, see how it works. What works, try it again. What didn't work, maybe leave it out. But it's time to head to the game. Another game, another experiment. Let's get it.
Jones, great work, good hustle, and he gets in the face of Poirier. Look what it means. Ousmane swings it, Bryant out towards Ousmane again in the corner, and he nails the 3. And that's just what Anadolu needed. Bryant Thompson, the look for Noor again, and he takes full advantage. Lovely fake from Terry Jones. Bonga doesn't go. Davies fadeaway gets it. Isaac Bonga has got ice running through his veins. 2 from 5, but he steals the ball away back to Osimhen. Osimhen left-hand side, beautiful shooting all round at the moment. Beautiful. Noora found Thompson and Thompson put it away with no trouble. Larkin, wow, Larkin has just absolutely done Sterling Brown. Larkin for 3 in the corner, doesn't get it, but Ousmane grabs it, and then Bryant comes back, recycles and puts it away. More than making up for the free throw miss, and he gets in close and he slams it home, and the and-1 comes as well. Partizan rode their luck there, and it ran out in the final milliseconds as Osmani gets in, puts it away, and gives the crowd another lead to cheer. What a hit the other side! Two three-pointers, fake to history, and then went for it and finds 3,000 points. Jones eases his way around Larkin. Davies, they need quick points here Partizan, the team who came in in 8th, will go now to 10 wins for the season. Ozturk tries to finish it in style. He doesn't manage it, but it is the win for Anadolu Efes Istanbul. There were 7 points down after the first quarter. It was a brutal battle.
Battle.
They were led by the standout, guys.
Breakfast is my thing, but this dressing right here is like the Chipotle vinaigrette dressing. If you haven't had this at Chipotle, you are missing out. But Jin knows how to make it overseas, but this she brought from— so this mixes the— this is a game changer. Mixes it and then I'll pour it on, you know, my eggs or whatever. But also, I think this is turning into a cooking channel now. But also, this right here is cashew queso. So you guys know I've been trying to limit dairy, and I've been on cashew queso for a while. This is fire, like, and it doesn't make your stomach hurt if you're lactose intolerant. Take that, put some of that on there, put some of this on here. Voilà! And you might be saying, oh, just— you can just buy that dressing. Yes, you can buy all this stuff in the store, dressings, queso, all that stuff. Well, if you get to the ingredients and look what you're putting in your body, you'll understand that you should be making your dressings at home because most of the time the dressings you're eating are inflammatory and have probably more sugar than the soda drinks you're drinking. Today we're going to be discussing how to deal with plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is something 1 in 2 basketball players would deal with. Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation in the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot connecting your heel bone to your toes. This tissue supports the arch of your foot and absorbs shock when you walk or run. Symptoms: Heel pain, usually sharp, or occurs near the heel, especially with the first steps in the morning or after long periods of rest. Honestly, I got my— I knew something was weird when last year I was playing a lot of minutes, so I ramped up super fast during preseason, and then I got in the ice tub after, and I got a cramp in my calf. I never cramp. I'm always taking my electrolytes, so I was like, something's weird. So my calves got tight, and the next morning when I woke up I was like walking like this. I knew something was off. So it can be caused from overuse, your foot structure, improper footwear, prolonged standing, tight muscles in Achilles. That's what happened to me. I had tight muscles and I was overusing. My muscles weren't ready for the load. All right, I'm gonna give you 6 things to do as soon as you start feeling this heel pain or tightness. Your calves. Number 1 is immediately change your shoes or your insoles and get out of those old shoes. The second is you want to do these exercises and stretches to strengthen everything around it and make sure that the force isn't being put on the bottom of the foot. If you want these exercises and Tools, the link will be in the description, or you can get the PDF for free right here. Number 3 to get your plantar fasciitis to go away is put your foot in a night splint at night. So you can see on the screen, nice one, is going to keep your foot like this, so keep the tension off the bottom of your foot. So at night when you're sleeping, you're actually irritating it more when it's not in that flex position, so put it in a night splint. Number 4 would be shockwave therapy, which is more of an aggressive therapy, basically to injure the area to create more blood flow. Number 5 would be PRP injections or surgery to your foot. Number 6 would be drink more water with the electrolytes. Our body is built of fascia, which is like this web stuff, and the more saturated water, the more it's able to move move well. So being dehydrated can be actually a cause of your plantar fascia. So drink more water with electrolytes. If you don't know what the electrolytes are— your magnesium, potassium, calcium, that type of stuff— then let me know in the comments. I'll give you my recommendations of what I use for electrolytes. And last but not least, pray for peace and comfort, because when I was going through this, I felt like there was no end in sight, because it's not like an ankle sprain, say 2 to 4 weeks or whatever, you don't know when it's going to get better, especially during the season. So pray for peace and comfort and understand that he's going to help you.
