Pre-Season with Anadolu Efes in Antalya, TURKEY (Gloria Sports Center is Insane)

In this 10‑minute vlog, NBA‑level player Elijah Bryant documents his 10‑day preseason stay at the Gloria Sports Center in Antalya, Turkey, while offering candid advice to basketball players considering overseas careers. He opens with a quick intro, then walks viewers through his daily routine—showing the supplements he takes, meals, cold‑tub recovery, barefoot training, and a golf outing. Throughout, he emphasizes treating basketball as a full‑time job, arriving early to practice, doing extra weight work, and maintaining a solid reputation as a teammate. Bryant shares observations about the facilities (large rooms, sports hotel vs. resort), cultural moments (Turkish food, local golf course, teammates’ banter), and personal mindset tips: embracing adversity, staying consistent, being grateful, and focusing on incremental improvement. The vlog blends informal teammate chatter with instructional commentary, aiming to prepare “overseas hoopers” for the ups and downs of playing abroad.

I know. Yes! Knock down his second triple. Baseline was open, he kicked Hey, what's up guys?
Welcome back to my channel. My name is Elijah Bryant, currently play for Anadolu Efes. Starting year 5, and it feels like just yesterday I was playing in Eilat, Tappuah Eilat, Israel. And I want to make a video to all my overseas hoopers that are just starting, dedicate this video to you guys. So come along for this journey, we'll talk about some cool things. Ups, downs, life, but let's get to it. So these are all the supplements I take. These are basically just like food, Bulletproof Greens. If you guys want a detailed video on that, let me know. And I have backup, so. All right, let's dance. Me, me up here.
Let's go. Seesaw.
Go, Bluey! Go, Bluey! Go, Bluey! Go, Bluey! Go!
I love you. Doesn't give me kisses.
Give me 10 days without me, what are you gonna do? I'm gonna go party. Blue, give me kisses.
Hey, hey, don't be surprised if you find another man in my bed.
Big money bee.
What's up, man?
Shane Larkin?
No, no, Shane Larkin? No, no. What, you got to upgrade?
You do?
You big time, you're him.
You upgrade?
So we just got to the— let me show you the room. Wait, what? This is OD. Wait, wait a second.
I don't—
I thought I was staying in the—
say what?
That's crazy. This room is way too big for just one person. We're gonna be here in Antalya— don't mind my talking, I have my retainers in— for 10 days. What I want to discuss about overseas Hoopers is just there's gonna be ups and downs. We'll get to the rest.
What are you doing? You look a little snacky.
Good morning, it is day 1, Gloria Golf Resort. Maybe we should go golfing. Anyways, number 1, there's gonna be a few things on this overseas thing, is understand that you are playing a basketball game for your job now. So don't take that for granted in any aspect. Just let that sink in. You're playing a game for, for a living now, and don't take that for granted because there's plenty of people that would love to be in your shoes. All right, we just had lunch and wow, the food is amazing here. Well, that strawberry avocado salad was OD. So we got a few hours rest before we head to our Timo, it's hot or cold?
It's on camera.
I'm naked.
I'm naked. This is the worst.
Why am I standing on my tippy toes?
10 euro. How do you get a squirrel down from a tree?
Put down your pants and show him your nuts. Let's go, Roddy!
Roddy, get in!
Come on, 2 minutes! Look at this guy. I'm not getting in there.
Hey, Roddy, get in!
Roddy, come on!
Why you—
no, they got the toe thing, bro. Come on, bro, where'd you even get those from? Yeah, no, you can't stand right this, bro.
No way you got the toe things on, bro.
Let's go, let's go. I'll go under, I'll go under.
I'll do one too.
All right, better get out. Oh, this thing is flashing. What's good, Roddy?
Are you straight?
2 minutes, bro.
This shit light, huh?
What are you doing?
Whoa, what are you doing?
That hurt.
Hey, I'll do 30 seconds at a time. Yeah, fuck this shit. He getting out again.
Oh, this shit got cold.
2 times, 2 fails.
You right, man. You right.
Well, I'm sorry, but just a couple minutes. Couple minutes. Yeah, I'm on.
Let's go. Why?
Let's go.
Hey, it feels good, huh? What'd you say?
Because you torture yourself, you gotta torture everybody else. Awesome.
All right, so we won the game, we ate dinner, got in the cold tub. Tomorrow 2K comes out, the iPhone 14 was released today. What do you guys think about it? Anyways, that's besides the point. Point is, overseas life, just in basketball, you will deal with adversity. Learning how to overcome that is not just a skill that you'll use in life, but it's going to help you a lot overseas in basketball.
Good morning.
Day 2 in Gloria, Antalya, Turkey. My next thing is understanding that you will have teams that will necessarily not treat you the right way, but you as a professional should always act in that, in that way, no matter the situation. You know, 45 minutes to an hour early before practice, make sure you're getting your weights in, your lifts, make sure you're getting your extra work in because your reputation matters. What's the key to overseas life that you, that you tell someone just starting?
The key, I would say the key is to get out of the house once a day.
There you go.
Day 3.
I didn't film too much last night just because the same thing. This morning, the same thing. I'm gonna go on my 30-minute walk barefoot, listen to my podcast, get some sun in my eyes, and then we shoot around. But you guys saw the sports club, it's pretty nice. It's pretty nice. Yeah, boy. We won yesterday by a lip. And the ref called no foul.
The game before us was 3 overtimes, so it was super late. But my legs are extremely, extremely sore. I need to go outside and do my morning stuff. Not I need, I get to go outside and do my morning stuff. The next thing I'll say about overseas basketball, always be a good teammate. Regardless of the situation, always be a good teammate. Your reputation stays with you. Gosh, I thought it was in a boxing match. Always be a good teammate. Alright, let's get this skate started. I haven't been filming a lot of my morning routine stuff just because I've been doing the same thing, but I just had this thought after our game 2 days ago. Played well, played okay, whatever. Still trying to get the rhythm, 5 on 5, new guys. As basketball players, tell me if you guys can relate to this. For me, when you play good, it's like, yeah, I'm ready tomorrow to to do my extra little stuff, right? The one cent club. But when you play, in your eyes, bad or not to what you feel like you can play, you're like, that stuff's not working, you know what I mean? Like, and obviously I could be better at it, try to be better at it, make sure I'm doing my stretches, ball handling, all that stuff. It's a little bit over time that's gonna show the big difference. That's when people ask you, oh, how'd you do, how'd you do? Just a little bit each day, nothing crazy. Like, honestly, it's time to pack. I'm moving over to the sports hotel, so let's get to packing. Safe to say that the other place was definitely a resort. This is nice. The view is very beautiful. But the hallways just feel like you're in a jail cell. I don't know why, it's weird. One thing that is super cool though about the sports arena is you walk downstairs, you play your games, you walk back upstairs, you're in your room, but there's not really really like. Like the other place you had like stuff to do, and now it's kind of just like—
I'm gonna be playing the game for sure.
Your hands are too big. Yeah, where are you from?
From Germany. Uh, one set or two sets?
One set should be fine. Yeah, okay. That's 18. I'll die.
Yeah, 18 is especially in this heat.
Oh, watch it.
Should we get sunscreen? Should I get some sunscreen?
Oh, he's going as fast as crap. First tee.
What do you play from? Uh, yellows. Are you ready?
Oh wow, even lower.
Huh, I'm excited.
Wow. Okay, yeah, to the right. Yeah, I see it.
Damn.
Okay, see you guys tomorrow. Oh, but are they the workers?
All right, so I'm here with the tree.
I look— you want to scoot it?
A little bit, so I don't hit the tree, but we going to play it.
Hey!
Hey! Hey, get up! Get up!
Hey, if you didn't know, we're out here, um, golfing in Antalya, Turkey.
Here, clean everything for the health.
Stay hydrated, Baba.
You doing ads now?
Mhm. We lost some balls. Another one.
That was my best drive of the day.
Yeah, wow, by far. Can do it! Come on, go! Yeah, jump on it! I'm too tired.
I'm too tired.
Jump in, jump in, jump in!
Would you ever let him go?
Oh, you missed your chance.
You missed your chance. You missed your chance.
If I'm by myself, I take it too seriously. Follow me on Instagram, Tyrell1, for good content.
Hashtag influencers.
All right, so golfing was absolutely a blast. Today we had the day off and— are these people doing barefoot training? Wait a second, that's what I like to see.
Yeah boy.
If you guys don't know, right now I'm extremely obsessed with this guy called Liver King. He just lives an ancestral life, and I really like that lifestyle. Anyways, I don't— I didn't bring tons of clothes because we have all this like FS gear. So I only brought a few things like my Bjori shorts and my Bjori shirt, as you see, hashtag ambassador. So right now what I'm doing is literally washing. It's gonna smell somewhat better, right? It doesn't really stink. This is the Stratotec This shirt is money, especially for people who sweat a lot like me.
You're already there. Go, go!
What?
Go!
All right, watch out, watch out, bud.
It's scary.
Yes, go up.
That one looks high, I'm not going to lie.
Holy, that's scary.
Let me see, let me see.
Go! Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
Hey, it's faster to go down there than walk down the stairs.
Let's go.
I didn't even get 3 steps, but we got outside and we got nature barefoot. Baboon to the moon. Bro, I wake up again and this is so freaking cool to me. I don't know, I get freaking weird about weird stuff. I'm pretty sure this is a Russian team and their coaches are walking barefoot with their shirts off in the grass.
They know what's good.
The benefits are amazing. Okay, I'm going to be something different. I'm going to be a—
uh-oh. Hi, my name is Bugs Bunny.
There's no frog.
Aah! Go, Bluey!
Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Go Bluey! Go Bluey! Go Bluey! Go Bluey!
Hey! I see it.
Should I tap the email?
Yeah, I'm already in the thing.
Oh, what do I do?
Family finder matches. Wait. I'm not looking though, but I see it.
E-P-H. Where are you from?
I'm 53% European.
So I'm 97% European and 2% Ameri— from the Americas.
I am 53% European, 34% Africa, 14% Middle East and North Africa. I'm 33% from Ireland.
What?
That's cap. Scandinavia.
Hey, what's up?
Where you going, man? Where?
At the other hotel? I got a date or something?
It seems he doesn't want to stay here.
I don't know why.
Thanks for the invite. Huh? What? Are you going to play?
Unfortunately, B won the first game.
Only the first one.
All right guys, I have a lot of practicing to do. B smacked me in the second game. All right, today's our last day here. Last night, um, we played Monaco. Who cares if we won or not, but we did win. Um, it's preseason game. My favorite part was blocking Momo. Insert picture here. Today we have one more game. Some guys are playing, other guys play a lot of minutes. Um, fortunately I'm getting to play. Oh, and another thing in terms of to kind of wrap this whole overseas life up. You could be working a 9 to 5 sitting at a desk, so be grateful for where you're at and embrace that journey. And it's just a starting point, so be consistent over time. Until next time, Gloria, Antalya, peace and love.
Consistency over time.
Kisses, kisses, kisses.
I love you. Can you open it for me, please? This way.
Good job, good job, Louie.
Oh, he's sleeping, he's sleeping.
Crazy. Uh-oh, he's sleeping.
He's sleeping.
