Shouod the clippers kept SGA? #basketball
In this monologue, the speaker—an SGA fan—examines the 2023 trade that sent Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander (SGA) from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The speaker lists the assets the Clippers received (Paul George) and the assets the Thunder received (Danilo Gallinari, SGA, the first‑round picks that became Trey Mann and Jalen Williams, a 2023 first‑round pick acquired via a Heat pick‑swap, and a 2024 first‑round pick). After laying out the components, the speaker argues that the Thunder clearly won the deal, asserting that even if the Clippers had known SGA’s future performance, the trade would still be unfavorable for them. The overall conclusion is that the Clippers’ decision was a poor one, while the Thunder’s haul positions them strongly for the future.
