Do Ads Work For Animators?

Eric Deeran shows animation studios how to use paid ads to land clients. He targets SaaS, finance, and service businesses with three-tier retainer packages, then walks through a lead funnel and the math on cost per acquisition. Ads work for animators if you know who to sell to.

Welcome back to another video. This video is actually prompted by one of our team members who spoke with someone in the animation space. They had a couple questions. And, you know, we've worked with multiple animation companies to help them scale and grow here at Master Filmmaker. So I got to show you guys some love and break down what we're doing with those clients, give you a bit of an example, and show you how you can actually use ads to get more clients for your animation studio. And I think sometimes people think, well, I have to offer live video, or I have to have live video to be successful, or you guys only work with people who do live video. And that's just not the case. So in today's video, I'm going to be breaking this down and talking through the offer sheet, the price points of one of our clients. I'm not going to tell you who the client is to respect their privacy, but they are an animation client, and they're somebody who works in the animation space. So in today's video, we're going to be breaking that down and talking you guys through that. Now, one of the biggest myths that animators have is ads won't work for me. And the truth is, is that's just not the case. All you're doing with ads is you're putting a message in front of a specific person, and you're guaranteeing that that piece of content that you're run, an ad will get in front of that person. And so with ads, you're just finding those people, whether that's on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google, whatever it may be. And we help with a variety of those platforms. Now, some people think, well, my target market's not on those platforms. And you'd be surprised. Facebook has billions of users at this point. And we've worked with every single niche you can possibly imagine within the video space, and they all find their clients on Facebook. So let's go ahead and dive into the iPad and talk about the target markets that we've helped our clients target and what those typically look like. So when you're doing animation videos, you're typically doing explainer videos. You're doing social media content. You're doing things to help educate and nurture a client's or company's client or prospect. And animation videos are really good at explaining concepts, explaining concept ideas, and breaking those things down so consumers can understand a specific thing. Typically, the niches that we see work really well are SaaS, financial tech, and service. So, like SaaS being software as a service, tech Being anything from tech startups to tech companies to software to anything that needs explaining and something where the consumer doesn't necessarily understand exactly what that company does right off the bat. So you create animation videos for those types of companies to help them understand more about what it is that that company does to educate the buyer and then get that person to ultimately buy at the end of the day. Now financial could be like crypto, it could be financial services, it could be funds, it could be any of those that's kind of encompassing within financial and then services, just service based businesses, any kind of business that offers a service. So that's target market. That's typically who we're going after with these types of offer sheet and what this looks like. So couple different price points we have here. We have a three posts per week, four posts per week and five posts per week. These are retainers, they all are at three months each. As you can see here. The first thing this client does when he onboards a new client is he does a brand discovery call, which is gonna be a call with that client to understand their brand, see what they're looking for and just understand their brand as a whole. Then they do a social media strategy that they craft for that client. And then for this client they're doing six creative statics per month and they're doing six animated design driven videos per month. And this is a 25k three month package. And that's what that looks like. For that then they have the four posts per week which is just increasing the quantity of the, of the actual content that they're creating. And for this it's four posts per week, it's 30k for three months. And then their five posts per week is, is obviously five posts per week for 35k for three months. So this is just an example of what this actually looks like. And then that you could play around with price points if you're an animation obviously you can change these, we can tweak these, we can work work with these. But for this client, this offer sheet worked well for them and, and they're happy with these price points and they're selling at these price points. So they're very happy with that. So now that we have the offer sheet, now we just need to figure out how do we actually get these leads, right? How do we get these clients? It's pretty simple. So like we said, we had these target markets up here. We're going to take these target markets and we're going to make an actual ad video that we Put on Meta, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, wherever that target market is for this. Let's say we're going after SaaS companies. Pretty simple. So we're going after SaaS, we're going to create an ad. This ad is going to call out, hey, if you're a SaaS company who's struggling with inconsistent lead flow or struggling with educating your customer, we're going to come in and create XYZ types of animation videos for you. If you're interested in learning more, schedule a demo below, click the link and speak with someone from our team. That's obviously a broad overstatement of what that's going to look like, but we're going to do a hook. We're going to call out the pain points, we're going to agitate those pain points, and then we're going to do a CTA to book a demo. This ad right here, this can be either your face, it can be someone else's face. We've helped our clients hire spokespeople, we've helped our clients hire talent. But typically it's a talking head. Typically it's. It's a talking head mixed with some animation. Because our clients are animation studios, they like to incorporate that into their ads. And then that ad is simply going to go to what we call a Facebook lead form here. And that Facebook lead form is going to have conditional logic on it, so it qualifies the right types of people. And so we help our clients come up with qualifying factors that they put into their ad. And the qualified people, Sorry, my handwriting is terrible today, guys will go to a call and the unqualified people will get booted out of the form. And then from those people that go to a call, our clients then hop on a Zoom meeting or Google Meet meeting, and then they turn a percentage of those people into clients that pay them on the offer sheets that we just came up with right here. So it's a pretty simple system. You don't need to overthink it. But replace SaaS here with financial services, right? So replace financial services with tech. It's the same exact process, no matter who you're targeting. It just all starts with the ad calling out the hook, the pain points, agitate those pain points and then calling them to action to submit the form and submit their information and turn that into a lead that you can then contact. And really, at the end of the day, it's not the best animators or the best animation studios that get the best work or the most work. It's the Ones that are the best and are the most visible. Obviously you can't have poor quality work, but you also have to be able to get in front of people. And if you're only getting a handful of leads every single month, it's going to be really difficult to scale to, you know, 20, 30, 40, 50, $60,000 a month because you don't have enough people to physically talk to. And really all this system is designed to do is, is to get you more conversations with people who are interested in the offers that you have to provide to them. This way you don't have to play the organic game, you don't have to go to conferences, you don't have to go to networking events, you don't have to go to any of these crazy things. You can have people consistently coming in every day. Let's say that an average lead, and we know this because we work with clients in this niche, let's say an average lead is $25 for you, right? Then it's just how many times do you want to spend $25 to, to get more leads, right? And let's say each lead is $25. Let's financial model this out real quick. So each lead is $25. Let's say every two leads you book a call. So every call is $50. Now let's say you have to take four calls to close one client. What are these price points? 25k is the lowest. So you close one client at 25k and that's for a three month commitment. Well, now you have a machine where you can pump money in right here and get money out right here. Because you're pumping, you're pumping a certain amount of people in of those people turn into leads, certain amount of those people turn into calls, certain amount of those calls turn into clients. And then you close them at your average ticket value. So hopefully this gives you guys a little bit more clarity. If you're an animation studio or an animator or someone who does graphics, like it's the same exact process, you're just putting a piece of content in front of somebody and you have to have the right targeting the right systems, that's obviously what we help with here at Master Filmmaker. But you have to have that set up. And then once you have that set up, you're just talking to qualified people who want to work with you. It's not rocket science. So hopefully this helps.
